Goodness me. Which part of the road did this happen?

And yet just between shagamu and Benin, you pass over 40 check points. Why can't those security agnet be redeployed to the kaduna Abj road

Those checkpoints are the doing of the south west governors after the killing of that Afenifere leader's daughter. Although checkpoints hace always been on that road, It was intensified as robbery and kidnapping on the road become incessant.

The FCT and Kaduna govt can arrange same on that road.

No train in the South-south where all the money is coming from. Which way Nigeria. Come and see Federal roads in the south-south you will weep.

Gaping holes in the middle of the road. Causing chronic loss of man hours thereby hampering smooth flow of goods and services, which negatively affects the economy.

But this is the only part of the country that gives the oil money to build railways and roads in other parts of the country.
The South South people were stealing their oil money through NDDC ATM while their governors are busy squandering their 13 percentage derivative allocation.

If insecurity is not addressed quickly, I see kidnappers devising plans to hijack and kidnap even more people through the rails.

Amaechi should of necessity advice bubu to show more sensitivity to the insecurity and plight of people travelling
along that route.
it's quite possible to hijack trains I remember those cowboys films I watched as a child of bandits hijacking trains carrying gold etc.

What of River State, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and other South South states don't they deserve Standard Guage too.

They just did Itakpe to Warri so they can link Ajakaota steel with the nearest Port so they can export and make more money for themselves.

You use trillions of Naira to link Northern states so they can carry Agric produce, forgetting that moving oil safely is more beneficial to the country, it is only in Nigeria you will see trucks carrying fuel up an down.

Civilized countries use trains.

The whole North will farm for 5years and they won't make 1 trillion Naira. But oil will give u that in 6months.

something need to be done on the corruption of sale of tickets, most of the staff, hoard tickets and create scarcity which they sell to "special passengers" at N3,000 and above instead of the N1,300. I withnesed this on Sunday at the IDU train station Sunday 27th October, 2019.
I was at the station after 12 but couldn't get the tickets for 2:20 , had to wait till 3:30 pm to get the ticket for 6:00pm.

In fact, I do not know why Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) cannot sell train tickets online, to curb this nonsensical fraud. Before you can buy those tickets, you would be made to register your name and ID card online, with your passport photograph.

That way, those who buy large quantities of rail tickets can be tracked and stopped.

Anyways I still think the government can secure the area while the project still continues. No play

Atimes youth restiveness and community dispute is just the cue contractors need to embezzle the money and blame it on insecurity.

Una talk am well! cheesy

How is Lagos, Ogun, Oyo part of South-South. You think anywhere apart from the North is South abi?

Secondly what is the economic importance of spending trillions in a desert compared to business hub and oil rich South.

Nigerians my sister and i just returned from our Kaduna trip with the train and i can tell you first hand news that our experience going was not funny. We got to Idu train station about 06:10am met a little line waiting to buy tickets. The officials opened up around 06:30am and before you know it the line was scattered as people scampered to get tickets for the first train trip.
We quickly ran hoping to get our 1st class tickets only for us to be told that it wasn't available, but right before us a ticket was sold to a big hausa looking man. Then i heard that the tickets available were for standing. But as God will have it, i saw how a seat ticket was sold to a woman who bribed an official so i had to quickly do same with some pleading before i was given two tickets for me and my sister. We were made to run with our bags all through the stairs to make it to the 1st train trip for the day. That was how we got seat tickets.
I want to report the officials in charge of ticketing. They are rude, liars, dishonest, discriminative and corrupt.

*Sigh* Naija. . . sad
