Yeah I think that is correct. The instruction should be there, if I remember correctly.

I think this is possible, since both applicants will likely be applying separately. However, you need to show your relationship with such person and why they are sponsoring you; of course they will have to give proof of their financial capability (statement of account, company documents or proof of employment and all).

Goodmorning everyone. Please pardon me if my question may seem like i'm drawing anyone backwards. It is as a result of how urgent I needed the information.

Please I want to know if a family friend can sponsor me for a Canadian study program? He lives in Uk and he is a citizen.

I also want to know if he can sponsor two persons at ones.
I will really be glad to get a favourable reply.

From my experience, what you will need is a detailed sponsorship letter explaining your relationship with your sponsor (your supervisor) and why they are sponsoring you. Also, you will need their statement of account, their proof of employment or ownership of a business etc. and finally a copy of their passport bio data page. I hope this helps.
Xenyth:
Hello house. will I have to provide any form of proof of fund if my supervisor is offering me full funding with tuition fee cover and a stipend of 25000CAD per year which is more than what I need in a year?

Sorry to hear about that, were you working before you dropped your application? Also, what were your degree qualifications and what degree were you going for?

Sorry to hear about that.

1. Were you working before applying?
2. What were your degree qualifications before applying and what degree were you going for?
3. What were your family ties?

I think your sponsor has to be a family memeber.
But in your case he/she can but you will have to explain why, what you did to deserve he/she to sponsor you.

Yes, but you have to demonstrate he will and he can. The distance in relationship is far. You could provide pictures of you all together, conversation you had together. This might help. But if not proven he will and can sponsor you. Not a good one.

Mr Frankrobbn1 thanks for all that you for this thread.

I was refused based on PURPOSE OF VISIT and FAMILY TIES IN CANADA OR HOME COUNTRY

I went through your post and I can say as regards purpose of visit and family ties, I explained everything you mentioned in details in my SOP/LOE. This are the points I discussed in my SOP/LOE

1)Introduction
2)Academic background (Computer Science)
3)My interest in the course of study( Masters of Global management) which in summary is I have been running an Event management business for over 5 years and I required an Academic qualification in a management course, I also stated that I had worked in an event company in the past and had some trainings in Event management and Project management, I also explained how the event business was born out of passion as it was a side hustle while I was in Uni.
4) I wrote about why I wanted to study in Canada
5)Why I chose the school( Royal Roads University )
6) I wrote about my conditional offer from Royal Roads university, I was asked to do two courses cause of my academic background ( Financial Accounting and Managerial Account, I needed to have at least 50marks each for both courses ) I had to defer my admission in order to clear the conditions which I did( these courses were not free)
7)I also wrote about How the course will be of great benefits to me and my business( I discussed the problems I currently encounter in my business and how I believed the course will help in tackling the issues)
cool I wrote about my Goals and Aspirations
9) I wrote about my study gap 11 years( in between I got married and started a family )
10)Funding ( which wasn’t an issue, I had paid full one year tuition fee 17,850CAD and I had 10k USD in my domiciliary account for living expenses) my husband was my sponsor

Note, since I graduated, I Haven’t worked in my field of study.
I submitted my company documents( I registered my company in 2010)

As regards Family Ties
I have been married for almost 6years( submitted my marriage certificate)
I have 2 kids( submitted their birth certificates)
Submitted documents for 5 landed properties( 2 jointly owned by my husband and I) each property had valuation certificates
I got a letter from my children’s school indicating they were registered there and their tuition had been paid for 2019/2000 academic year ( I included this because they are US citizens and to prove they won’t be going with me)
My Mum wrote a letter indicating that she would support my husband in taking care of the children and assist with their school work while I’m away ( she retired as a Director of education in Lagos state)
My husband wrote a letter of sponsorship

My husband submitted his personal 11. 5M and domiciliary account 20k USD
I submitted my company account with 2.5 M and personal account 450k and my USD a account 10k USD even though my husband was the sole sponsor.

Please how can I further tackle the reason for my study permit refusal. My husband feels I should ask for a refund from the school and try UK but I convinced him to give Canada another try which will definitely be the last.

I regret to hear your study visa application was rejected.

Your profile is very solid with career progression in management. I wonder why the visa officer could have rejected your application based on the ground stated above..... My best advise is that you should.defer your Admission to the next available term which is Spring. Prepare an LOE that will address the reasons stated on your refusal letter as gcms notes seems generic nowadays. Contact any of the knowledgeable individuals here to assist in vetting the letter on your behalf to be sure you've adequately addressed those concerns. Afterwards file for a reapplication.

It shall end in praises.

A family friend can sponsor you but you need to prove why he's doing so - what's in it for him? Why you and not his own family members? Also, he needs to actually show commitment, and it's recommended that he does this by paying your fees directly from his account and transferring your living expenses to your account or transferring both fees and living expenses to your account.

3rd party sponsor that isn't related to you isn't suitable especially with the fact that the individual will technically sponsor 2 applicants. Non the less of you choose to carry on with it you'll need to;
1. Ensure you can proof the sponsor as helped you in the past

2. Account for Sponsors dependents

3. Nature of sponsors job and earnings in reference to your study program cost etc...

Mr Frank and gurus in the house, please what are the chances of getting a Student Visa if

- The sponsor is a friend of mine in Canada.

- If i have a study gap of like 8years and have been doing menial jobs ever since. Trying to apply for a BBA.

- Is there any chance of getting a permit even with these hindrances? Someone wants to help and i want to make sure it's possible so i don't waste money and look at other countries. Thank you.

Hello house... please I need your quick input on something that is baffling me. I want to apply for Study visa, is it a good thing to say you have someone or a family member that is a citizen or PR in Canada?... is it an advantage or disadvantage to have someone over there as family member?... Please help me o

It's a disadvantage only on the account that you declared that you've family member in Canada and fail to provide sufficient ties to Nigeria that would compel your return home after studies. Once you're able to establish strong ties here that far outweighs that of Canada, there is no disadvantage.

Are skills obtained outside Canada valuable in Canada?

What kind of skills are you talking about here? Canada has high demand for IT skills at the moment and because that's where the world has come to, I can't see it changing.

On the other hand, skills like Welding, Electrician, Plumbing, and Home Builders are also recognized in Canada once you can prove that you're an expert, you will paid handsomely for your services.

Thanks a lot. So so helpful
Orlarshaynee:
Home ties was basically the family farm business, as I said I would be more than happy to return at the end of my study to Nigeria, so I can apply the practical knowledge I would have gained to the farm business.

Also, I mentioned in the concluding aspect of my SOP, that my parents will be retiring from the business in a couple of years, and will be handing over the operations to me.

Finally, I had to spell it out to the visa officer (also in the conclusion), that I have no intentions of over staying my validity period in Canada, similar to my time studying in the UK(which of course is very true; I can not goan hang in another man's country cheesy).

I hope this was helpful.

Please can anyone tell me the process for upfront medical? What do I have to do?

Contact the nearest IRCC medical panel physician close to your geo-political zone (Abuja or Lagos). Book an appointment with them by sending across your details which entails your full name, passport number, date of birth, and intended country. Once you've been able to pick a date for the upfront medical exam, prepare yourself and go with the original copy of your International Passport and proof of payment to the hospital and you will have your upfront medical exam done and cleared!

Also, you will need their statement of account, their proof of employment or ownership of a business etc. and finally a copy of their passport bio data page. I hope this helps.

I think you're mistaken the applicant's question for a sponsor here in Nigeria. The question is actually referring to a graduate Supervisor in a university in Canada providing full funded scholarship for the applicant's research master's program. Hence all the requirements like international passport, employment letters and statement of account from the applicant's supervisor as suggested by you is not needed here.

As I have rightly said in my previous post, what the applicant needs to show/present is a minimum of 1.2M in his account for his flight itinerary and other miscellaneous expenses that might arise during the course of his studies in Canada and I'm sure he will be fine with this. More so, if the applicant doesn't have upto this amount in his account, he can get a sponsor that will present a bank statement of 5M upwards since he is a fully funded applicant.

I trust the information given by my fellow members on this thread was helpful to you in establishing proof of relationship between you and your sponsor. Meanwhile let me quickly chip in my little opinion concerning your sponsor's intention of sponsoring two applicants at same time in the same immigration processing office (Kenya). I wouldn't buy this idea as you're indirectly cheating the Canadian Study Visa system and thus when caught in such an act by the Canadian immigration officers you will be wrecked with a 5 years ban. I have seen a case on this window far back in 2017 where a particular bank statement was used by an agent to sponsor over 5 different applicants and guess what?, the embassy got hold of these applicants and they were all served 5 years ban. My best advice for you, that's if you would listen to me, is apply first, once your application has successfully pulled through, you can then file for the next applicant.

All the best!

Why don't you wish to reapply? On this reputable plaform, we don't encourage anyone to give up after first trial. You should bear in mind that majority of successful TRV applicants within and outside of this thread tried several times before they were able to secure a visa to Canada. I don't advise you to give up so easily at this time. Share your detailed profile and the list of documents you submitted in your previous application, then we will pick it up from there.
