Can Ocar succeed with their ridiculous low fares?
Drivers will bow out soon if they are not making enough money or insist on offline trips every time which will frustrate riders.

Yesterday, some Nigerians were complaining on twitter how Obikers now insist on offline trips charging high prices like normal bikers.

Though too early to call sha.

This state is already congested. Imagine someone injecting about 1000 cars into our traffic undecided

If these guys won't work with the cars that are on uber or bolt, they should just forget it. The government should look into all these sef

That's how they proposed Obus, but MC Oluomo quickly nipped that in the bud grin

The only people that can change that are drivers and partners, but we are enjoying the 20 trips for $50 gross profit

As long as no one is complaining, apps with zero naira base fare will keeping showing up

Please, any idea how the bikers make money. Is it from 10, 100 charges or their fares have been normalized now?

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Felicity001(m): 7:31am On Nov 19, 2019
Guys btw Uber and Bolt which one do you prefer as a driver in terms of fair charges and commission?

To me o I prefer work rides with bolt than uber when it comes to fairs charges and commission.
For instance, I've done a distance with bolt from Abule egba to surulere and the fair was about #2800, bolt commission 20%.
Whereas, I did almost the same distance with Uber and the fair charges was about #2500,uber commission 23.8%. I encountered more traffic during the uber ride even. Vex won kill me that day.

If uber continues like this enh me I'll just boycott them.

opay use their money to balance the drivers, they r not making any profit for now, they only want to capture the market first, but this their 1000 ocar is a bad idea to me,they should just work with their app like uber and bolt

Good morning brothers... Can someone help with a standard agreement for rentals...
There are no standards for rental/owners but what I believe is a mutual understanding.

You can ask for the norms not asking for standard because people are different.

I meet a guy some days ago, he gave me his contract papers for a rental, I was surprised with the level of ignorance this young man has after some words with him.

For heaven sake, how could someone be asking for 35k weekly and yet you want the driver to be responsible for every repairs apart from servicing which he said will be done once in two months and change of shocks absorbers to be carried out once in six months and the expenses will be 50:50. I just look at the contract and laugh.
Servicing to be carried out once in 60days for motor wet dey work everyday and you want 35k weekly, my people that engine no go knock??
Driver will buy fuel, uber and Bolt commission na 24:20%, driver go change tyres, do every other repairs. Haba!!! Make we get conscience na.
He even said his uncle is collecting 40k weekly, I just laughed

I'm thinking of joining the uber business, I want to know how uber pay their drivers weekly . Is a driver allowed to submit his savings account or must have a current account for payments .

I strongly understand you. I don't know this guy from Adam. I just want something to make him more committed and know that when he defaults on our agreement I am retrieving my car. Plus I don't intend allowing him work all day. Monday's to Friday is fine at 15k.

Guys I had a terrible experience yesterday, at mushin end of ladipo street.

I was dropping off a rider, didn't know that cult boys were Fighting.

All of a sudden people started running, then I saw boys coming out from a street on my left (50metres ahead). I tried to make a sharp turn to a street on my right but I have passed the street a little bit so I needed to go back a little before I can turn in cos there are bikes parked at that junction. Immediately I engaged reverse, one of them started approaching me with a big stainless Cutlass. I moves back with speed not knowing that Keke is already at my back trying to run into the same street with me and had to hit him.
When they boys saw what was happening, they all started running towards me (about 20+ boys, all with glittering machetes) I had to drive into the street like that, hitting one bike into the gutter. I ran to the end of the street and saw that the street is blocked, I and my rider just ran away to diff direction not knowing that they have stopped chasing me.

When they moved to another street and people started coming back from their hiding points. I came out and saw that they went straight to the sienna that was coming behind me when I made the turn. Then man jumped down and ran away too. They broke all the glasses on that car ( the windscreen front and back and all the glasses).

I saw the bike I hit into the gutter, it's bent on an Angle 45°. The owner came to me and said Oga I no blame you for what happened, I know you were running for your life. That he will not ask me to fix the bike for him cos he equally left the bike there and ran away. That I should give him just 1k, he will complete it and fix his bike.

This was a terrible experience. I went down to Domino's at ilupeju, parked and went into a deep sober reflection for over an hour.

Had I not escaped, what would have been my faith?

Sorry o. But funny at the same time. All those boys have a password

With all your threats too, I still dont go to places I dont want to go

Yes I am the owner of the car and I cant park at home because I'm not lazy, and mind you.. the platform is NOTHING without us drivers but we can survive without them. There are offline jobs bro, you know nothing......

if they use their own cars,
It is a project bound to fail just like O- bus.

Any tariff schedule that goes below the current rate of #60/km and #10/ min.

With the current state of Lagos will not work.

Moreover its easy for a bike to wiggle itself out of a traffic jam. A car doesn't HV DT advantage , unless they are going to bring cars that can do two things.

1. Cars that can fly
2. Cars that don't use fuel

Of course, if they bring cars, it has to be brand new. I tell you. Brand new or not .

Any car that is used for commercial ( e hailing) for even a short period of 2 mths. In Lagos traffic, mehn you need to see craters along the agege via old iyana ipaja road.

Such cars will depreciate fast.

I don't know oh

I know they had this $50 million(i think) funding from investors when they started.

If I were them, I would work with NURTW and Lagos State government to see how all these scrap buses can be phased out, while I still retain the structure..

I don't think those guys will put bolt and uber on their toes. The fares will make drivers abandon them

Also, who will b responsible for repairs, maintenance.

Maintenance of okada n keke are quite way minimal than that of a car.

Also if they slash fares, how will they remit rentals to the company.

Cos as it stands presently. Bolt has the lowest commission of the two apps.

And to make 7k net ( ie income that goes directly to your pocket. N not all these dashboard nonsense.

You have to do #12,500 on bolt. If you mid 7k net.

Look at these.
12,500
Bolt- 2,500
Fuel-3,000
You-7,000.

and rite now with d short short trips n trips to d unimaginable places in Lagos. I can only imagine wat a reduction in fares will do.

It wud b biz wise to use the already established structure on ground. DT uber n bolt has built.

I want to post the screen shot of my ride at 300 miles(500km),to show the bliss of driving without the dreaded'check engine' light, but yet to hit the mark cause of bad roads.not driven for a long time. car is parked at my brother's house at the moment.its presently at over 200 miles after it left the gurus workshop. Hmm! 15k weekly? That's good from ur side I must say.
A quick question, is your car a direct Belgium or used? Bcoz since person is not related or known to you from Adam I suppose that amount is very low for a tokunbo car. The least I've seen is 25k weekly. Driver does servicing and carries out expenses less than 2k while owner carries every other expenses. Then if driver defaults in payment owner can retrieve car according to h/h discretion.
