Kilz89:

Hello Frank,

I was denied TRV earlier this year based on current employment history and travel history.

For employment history that I filled, I have Nysc and a flexible 3years WE but in my next application I'd like to add my online business and social media management job that I've had since 2017 (I won't call it part time cos I spend a lot of hours online daily, even on weekends).

Will this be viewed as misrepresentation as I didn't include it in my last application?

Thanks you. Thumbs up for the great job you do here

Hello Kilz89,

Including new documents for a re-application doesn't demonstrate in any way to be a misrepresentation. If properly demonstrated, it shows that or how your situation has changed.

However, if pointing the attention to your media management business, endeavour to be able to show substantial and verifiable documents as proof. If possible, it will help your application if you can show how it generates funds or earns you a livelihood.

Document proof can be:

1. Business reference letter from past or present clients.

2. Contract agreement letter with clients

3. Signed documents of business memorandum of understanding with clients.

4. The URL of the website (reflecting you as the creator/moderator with similar verifiable contact details as the one on your application).

5. CAC (if registered)

6. Financial transaction slip or document between you and your client.

BTW don't exaggerate any thing.

N.B: if you're not able to show convincing/sufficient funds enough to cover your tuition fees and LE, you might not be able to address completely address the refusal reason.

Good luck!

Answer is No. Only if the dad is still in the US and he is the sponsor that will be a red flag.

Well it depends, if they carry out an extensive BACKGROUND CHECK it might count. There is a reason why there is a family information form any checks can be done on the names provided.

Hello Oganammuo,

All IMM forms can be found on cic.gc.ca. However, use the link below to assess the IMM Form page directly. Only download what is applicable to you. Also, ensure your system has Adobe Reader 11 or Acrobat to be able to download, save, and fill the forms before print out.

Unlike online, paper route permits you to do your biometrics on same day prior after submitting. Since you travelling from afar, just sacrifice 2 - 3 days though Abuja VFS doesn't witness same rush as Lagos VFS. But at most, sacrifice 2 days for it.

As it stands, you might not be required to do another biometrics since you've done one in 2017. Though the 10yrs biometrics validity began in July 31, 2018, some re-application applicants during same year as you didn't undergo a fresh biometrics while some did. Based on my recent observation, you're likely not to undergo one again. However, please us updated.

To your last question, the special thing is to make prayer the cover page of your application.

Good luck!

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by chybabie: 2:56pm On Nov 29, 2019
Thanks for the response. I googled vfs number and got 234 81 5018 8800.
When I called the line, it is not giving me any option for Canada visa.
The options are; choose 1 for SA visa, choose 2 for bla bla bla etc.
Please which option would I choose?.
JustMellow:

Hello Cdaniel,

Your passport pick up notification will either be communicated to you by email or text message. Given the delay after a final decision has been made, try contacting the VFS office you submitted via phone (google the number).

You will be properly guided with the received information on how to duly contact IRCC in regards to your passport return.

All the best.

Project management
Building construction
Construction project management
Or interior design.

And also I need your advice too. Do you think the job prospects in this field of study has a promising future if one eventually get job there.

For a 2yr program, the required funds to be shown is for 1yr that is sufficient to cover a semester/year tuition fees and LE. Then demonstrate how the tuition fees and LE of the subsequent year would be met.

The process of showing funds is same whether a 1 or 2yr program. The most important thing is having extra in the account after the funds for tuition fees and LE has been shown.

Its advisable to apply for the admision on time even before the 3 - 4 months. At least, the SP extension app should have been filed within this period.

All the best

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

@Qudkom, thanks for this.
Do u have any specific advice for sowp candidates? Especially in terms of how to establish ties back home when an applicant cant get an extended leave from their employer? How do they justify their employability on returning home? How does one justify purpose of visit, etc? Dont think this is derailing the thread as a few people here would benefit from this information. Thank u.

Long post alert

I hate when I log into this forum and see excessive refusals. The truth is your refusal isn't because;
1. You truly have a vague SOP
2. Your academic program doesn't show a true purpose of visit.
3. Weak family ties or any of those vague reasons they give.

Since I got here I have analysed so many trends with international students from other countries most especially India and China. And here is my conclusion;

1. Most of this international students can't even speak good English hence, how did they scale through the SOP part that they mostly tell us we've written something "poor or vague"

P.S: Nationality withheld in a group presentation one international student wrote a report and I wanted to faint. A JSS3 Nigerian student can't write like that!

2. Most of them don't even get study permits for relevant courses that correlate with any work experience or whatsoever that we otherwise get refused for under the contempt of "purpose of visit" or "limited employment opportunities"

Now the reasons why this international students scale through the hectic STUDY PERMIT requirements are because;

1. They pay a year tuition
2. Show verifiable proof of living expenses (10kCAD)
3. They have viable financial institutions that give student loans with flexible payment intervals.
4. They hardly submit fraudulent documents which can ruin the chances of others.
5. Indians and Chinese immigrants invest a lot in Canada if you go to greater Toronto areas or Vancouver you'll confirm this.

So tell me why they won't be favoured. They don't care if they don't have a clear purpose of visit or whatsoever PRUDENCE is the order of the day

Also another clear reason why we Nigerians have so many refusals is simply because the study permit program in Canada as become over successful and there is simply not enough space. You need to see the way universities and colleges cash out yearly from international students it's unbelievable and when you notice that some other countries are given more priority then where do we stand. Where do we stand in a situation;
1. Where we're using 2/3 co-sponsors where some Asian kid as paid one year school fees and still doesn't mind paying 1kcad every month on living expenses.

2. Where do we stand when some people have ruined others chances through fraudulent documents

3. Where do we stand when other nationals are purchasing GIC(Guaranteed investment certificate) in the tune of 10kcad upwards to show proof of fund and we are still drawing table on how our uncle/brother/sister will sponsor us and getting #500 affidavit to support our claim

Please guys don't beat yourself up the system is flawed you aren't stupid or unfortunate it's just how the system works. I have met 2 immigration lawyers in Canada and I have seen some truth about the system.

Canada’s lack of a federal business immigration program and the difficulty of entering as a skilled worker through the express-entry system is adding to the overwhelming numbers of international students lining up for permanent residency. People from abroad are becoming students, just to have a pathway to immigration, he says.

“They're forcing people that really shouldn't go to school into the school system. And that's why, perhaps, the refusal rates are higher

On the contrary you can set yourself apart by boosting your chance if you have the means;
1. Pay a year tuition
2. Keep living expenses in the tune of 10KCAD in a fixed deposit and let it mature for at least 3months
3. Avoid fraudulent documents
4. Keep your SOP simple and straight to the point
5. Avoid using confusing documents
6. I'm sorry to say but limit the amount of co-sponsors if possible
7. Apply for relevant courses.

P.S: At thus rate the Canadian government might have post graduate work programs for people that study specific technical courses only while the rest will go home just like what we witnessed in UK.

Keep your heads high and keep pushing. It is well. Cheers

Hello Gurus in the house

I have been a silent reader on this thread for a while but I need an advice at the moment urgently.

Let me brief you about myself. I'm a 27y/o lady with Bsc finance(3rd class) and PGD finance. I rounded up nysc in 2015 and haven't gotten a job since then.

A friend of mine who is resident in Canada suggested to me an idea on migrating to Manitoba via school. She suggested a school ( University College of the North), the Pas Manitoba because of its cheap tuition.

I checked for the programs online but all they offer is undergraduate diploma courses and few Bachelor's programs.

Right now, I'm thinking of applying for a two year diploma course in Business Administration as its a perquisite to getting a bachelor's degree in Business Administration according to their website..(I.e. 2 yrs for diploma and another two years program to be awarded a BSc).

And the tuition per year is around (6300 cad) which I feel is the least i have ever come across for an international student.

My question now is
1. Can someone of my age apply for the diploma

2. What are my chances of getting a visa by applying for an undergraduate diploma ( as whether to include in my LoE that I have a university degree or just my high school result)

3. What and what are to be explained in my SoP and how to address the year gap of my studies and all. ( ssce 2008, Bsc 2014, PGD 2019)

Lastly , I see this is an opportunity for me as its affordable for my sponsor so I await your contribution as I intend to apply for Sept 2020. Thank you

To the bolded,
A GIC works like a savings account in that you deposit money into it and earn interest on that money. The difference is that you need to leave your money in a GIC account for a specified period of time. As some Indian does, after full tuition payment, they open a GIC account and deposit 10k CAD into it, this funds sometimes are soft loans taken from their country for academic
purposes which they can withdraw in bits for living expenses when they get to Canada.

Note: there are different types of GIC account

Hope that helps, other gurus can add.

it's an investment certificate you get from a Canadian bank similar to a fixed deposit. When tiu get to Canada you get a fixed amount of that money every month as your living expense. Please note that it isn't available for Nigerian applicant. I was just trying to illustrate how easy it is for some other nationals to apply. Rather than scanning excessive land documents etc... To show proof of fund and all.

Hello, everyone as a chance to get into Canada. However little factors can count against you;
1. Applying for another Bsc program. Please don't try it.

2. Going for a mere "diploma" program. That's also a no.

3. What you need is a post graduate program that gives you the opportunity to get exrta credit to boost your weak BSc and also give you relevant skills to get a good job afet graduation.

Recommendations;
1. Cape Breton University post baccalaureate business programs
2. Thompson Rivers university post baccalaureate business programs.

A post baccalaureate program is of interest to students who have a degree and want to return to university for one or two years to acquire a specialty in a functional area of business. Students with a first degree in business, but who want to change their area of focus, may complete a post-baccalaureate diploma as well.

Can I still apply for study permit after 2 years refusal @Justmellow I know you have respond to this but I want more headlines from you concerning the reason behind it,this are the reasons behind and GCMS notes

Purpose of your visit
Travel history
family ties in Canada and in your country of residence

GCMS NOTES

Text:Reviewed application.PA has limited travel,limited economic /family ties.Based on the information provided not satisfied that the PA is a genuine student with sufficient ties to compel their departure. Application refused.

I'm not including any documents and not gonna make any change in my previous sensitive information only for me to improve in my LOE...I know that's a long time how can I convince/tell the VO what took me so long to come back

Again can I use my late grandfather as a biological mentor to look up to just to talk about d legacy he left behind in our community which I would like to continue or I should use something else

Hello, everyone as a chance to get into Canada. However little factors can count against you;
1. Applying for another Bsc program. Please don't try it.

2. Going for a mere "diploma" program. That's also a no.

3. What you need is a post graduate program that gives you the opportunity to get exrta credit to boost your weak BSc and also give you relevant skills to get a good job afet graduation.

Recommendations
1. Cape Breton University post baccalaureate business programs
2. Thompson Rivers university post baccalaureate business programs.

A post baccalaureate program is of interest to students who have a degree and want to return to university for one or two years to acquire a specialty in a functional area of business. Students with a first degree in business, but who want to change their area of focus, may complete a post-baccalaureate diploma as well.

good day, pls I have a cousin who has both a third class and also a 2:1 in computer science ,but in a different yrs intervals,he applied for a 1year diploma course in cyber security specialist co-op and he was granted visa that was early this year and also he was 32 yrs of age as at the time he applied for it, so why do u say a 27yrs graduate should not try it? well I just think it all depends on the VO that handled the application mixed with luck
