we just left Seychelles immigration now.

as soon as they saw our Nigeria passport another nightmare begins, they started interrogating us. they asked how much we brought with us, we told them. their policy is that you must have 150$ per day for your duration of staying so we had exactly the amount.

they asked for our Airbnb reservation which we showed them, we also showed our return ticket and everything checks out, then the officer called her fellow officers on us and we were delayed for about an hour first.

they called our host and asked if we have fully paid, she told them we paid and they have received the money already

after delaying us for one hour they called me to one room, asked me to empty my pocket and requested for my ATM cards which I showed them, the second officer who is a woman collected my phone and went through all my WhatsApp conversation, went through my personal chats, at this stage I was very very angry but I kept my cool.

then another officer came led me to an ATM machine and asked me to withdraw 1000 Seychelles rupee twice which I did, they did same for my friend

the officer saw A FIFA 20 purchased on my telegram and she got triggered, showed it to her oga and that one said make she free me.

after few hours they collected our passport and told told us to come back for it when we are about to leave.

I was angry and I wanted to tell them to send us back because the humiliation is not worth it, my friend said it's dangerous to say that which I reason with him.. and again their country their rules...
I swear to God mehn, i am really angry right now and God punish the whole of Seychelles, their stupid country that is not even as Rich as Porharcourt which is just one state in Nigeria.

Some red flags i saw here:

1. $150 per day, which is $2,100 for 2 weeks. Is that the amount for BTA because that money is a lot.

2. They wanted to seize your passport for what reason? Are you going to flee their country via ship and flying boat. What kind of rubbish is that?

3. They were asking you if you have paid for Airbnb. Are they really expecting you to go and sleep on the streets? Are we that poor that we cannot pay for Airbnb.

4. Why should they go through all your WhatsApp chats. This country s not United States please, its seychelles. I think we Nigerians are belittling ourselves too much in the eyes of the world. How can a small country who depends on tourism be treating us like Trash?

So if my girlfriend sent me NUDES, that is how they will go through all her Nudes in my presence.

God forbid mehn.

Seems the place is kinda overhyped, no development, everywhere is just forest and water.

Quite overhyped.
Re: Tour To Seychelles --- My Experience by Liftmaster: 5:24pm On Nov 17, 2019
Lol, y'all are quite mistaken. Forest and water.. overhyped? That is exactly why tourists from developed nations go there and spend big bucks. They are not interested in tall buildings and big cities.
@Kakaki, you have the right attitude towards the immigration searches. For those in doubt, immigration has the right to search your phone. They have broad powers and can deny you entry if you refuse. In fact, they can deny you entry for no reason at all and your only recourse is to fight it when you land back in your own country, with very low probability of success. Even in the US, immigration is authorized to search the phones of citizens at the border without a warrant. If you refuse, you will be detained. However, they have to let you in. But then, it will be a very unpleasant experience for you and it will be on your record which will haunt you every time you pass through in the future.
Seychelles looks great. Would love to go but there are too many competing destinations closer to me to consider first. I wish I was independently wealthy and retired

I will address some things to support your point

For those who are saying Seychelles is over hyped I agree with them but is there any country thays not over hyped?
Do you know if you want to buy land in Seychelles as a company you are only allow to build on 1/3 of the land you bought, you will have to leave the rest as is. Leave the rest GREEN to promote nature. Now that's a forward thinking nation

2. Seychelles have target market it's for the whites who appreciates nature and the whites are flocking there daily spending millions of USD, they don't joke with nature in Seychelles cutting tree is jailable offence up to 5 years

3. We went on Boat excursion to another island we paid about 300$ each for this trip, we were 60 on the boat you do the math. 3 times a week . The only thing we were showed was how to peel coconut and the origin of their native tree COCO DOMè. I kid you not that's all.

But it was packaged in a nice way

Then I remembered our trip to Uganda. Uganda have everything and I wish I could convinced everyone on that boat how Uganda is far better than this ..

The problem with Uganda trip is they don't value what they have, I mean we had to take old canoe to River Nile, The longest River in the whole world

Uganda have the best forest reserve but our Uganda tour guide can't even speak proper English compare to Seychelles tour guide the lady can speak six languages
Re: Tour To Seychelles --- My Experience by kakakii(op): 6:54pm On Nov 17, 2019
I will address the immigration fuss for the last time, think about it from their perspective.

Imagine I was lamenting about what our eyes see at the immigration, I was talking about how Seychelles is not the best pleat to "hustle" YET I have some Nigerians already messaging me while some people are even planning to go their on a tourist visa to work, if the immigration catch them now they will be using same eyes to look every Nigerians that pass through Seychelles

A Nigerian guy was caught with his creditentials, I mean what are you doing with your creditentials if not to look for work..

I know that's just one Nigerian out of 200 million Nigerians

But according to research humans tend to focus on Negative experience than positive ones

That's why when we are shopping online our focus is always focus on Negative review

.........
Check this thread despite my warnings some people are hell bent on being embarrassed they don't mind.

Lastly
Seychelles is over hyped when you compare with country like Kenya and Uganda but they made everything available at your convenience.

They Fvcking gave us club car to be cruising the whole Eden island, Who the fvck does that!!!

They are taking Hospitality serious here, I mean their livelihood depends on it.

I saw Seychelles and my heart ache for Uganda Mehn

For what it's worth, if we consider Seychelles for what it presents itself as.... a tourist destination, I really do not think it is over hyped. Imagine a tourist destination that makes everything available at your convenience, is safe, devoid of stress, beautiful beaches, exotic wildlife etc. Not much infrastructure but the little they have works well and is efficient. This is what tourists are paying big money for. We shouldn't think of it as a place to relocate to and settle down... absolutely not what it is and has never presented itself as such.
This is where Nigeria has missed it when it comes to developing tourism. People go to places that are different from where they reside or to places that the can see stuff they can't get in their own countries. For example, Nigerians flock to Dubai because of the tall buildings, affordable shopping, modern infrastructure etc. Americans are not attracted to that because that's their daily life. They vacation in the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, sane parts of Africa, Cuba (unofficially) etc.
We have lots of beautiful unspoiled tourist attractions in Nigeria that can be made tourist destinations/ resorts. Foreigners will come for the natural beauty even with limited infrastructure, but we need to fix the security situation first.

Lol. Exactly bro, you SAW Seychelles. We wey dey here only saw Seychelles with wetin you gree show us. Remember my first comment where I asked if you didn't go with your camera? And that your grammar too much?

That was the prelude to my saying Seychelles is overhyped. You simply didn't upload much pictures that will make us see/feel close to what you felt about Seychelles. You were mostly describing the tour in words instead of with pictures.

A picture sha is still worth a thousand words. Keep enjoying sha. I wan be like you. Lol.

One good thing about Uganda though that I saw during my visit to East Africa countries is that, Food is very cheap in Uganda and I think it is the cheapest also in the whole East African community, and I think also cheaper compared to Nigeria, they have bad roads but electricity is almost everywhere in the country, Uganda is also a welcoming country to other Africans, very hospitable and caring to other Africans) , infact, Uganda is hosting the largest refugees in Africa.

Since I haven’t reached the level of traveling outside the country for a tour let me relax and continue my dusty foot journey around Nigeria’s sights. One day I will get there, one day.

so some guys have been messaging me about going to work in Seychelles. why in the world would you even think about working in a place where the population is less than 100,000 and the main source of income is tourism, I mean how pessimistic must you have been for you to think about '' hustling'' in Seychelles.

except you want to work in resort or hotel bartender whatever don't even think about it, the only thing you are coming here to do is to spend money, Seychelles is crazily expensive and if you are eating out 200$ won't be enough per day if you are eating 3 times daily I am not exaggerating at all.
Dubai is much more cheaper than Seychelles in all ramification. again don't come to Seychelles with that mindset.

yes people dey work here and you might be lucky, so if you want to plan your life based on ''being lucky'' then I wish you the best in your journey.
So in total how much did you spend for the whole experience? Say I travel there straight from Nigeria, how much should I budget if I plan to mirror your experience of the place?
