It's either the charging port or the charger itself. Not a special motherboard issue as you taught.

I was working with my laptop then all of a sudden the screen started becoming dark gradually from the bottom to the top! it's completely blank now!

Get hdmi cable and connect your laptop to the desktop monitor, that's the best option for now until you change the screen.

First of all is a dell laptop? If yes go to bios setting and check adaptor type ,you should get your charger rating (65W) that means your laptop motherboard detects charger confirmation if you see adaptor type unknown then your laptop is not detecting charger even though it powers it on it won't charge.


If No

Remove the battery, connect only the charger go to device manager, click on battery.
Rifht Click on. Microsoft ACPI complaint control method
Uninstall it, then shut down the laptop, connect your battery and power it on.

The driver will automatically install itself.
If after this and you're still facing the same issue try another charger or take the battery back to the seller to replace it.

Finally if your laptop is still not charging after this then it is motherboard issue.

Hello, I need the opinion of the experts in the house. I bought a new battery for my HP 250 g1 like two weeks ago. I have been using the battery then yesterday after charging it. I was using the PC and when the battery got to 12%, it went off. When light came. I plugged the PC to power but the battery does not charge and the PC does not turn on. I removed the battery and plugged it directly and the PC works. I would love to know what could be wrong, could it be the battery or the motherboard. I do hope it is not the latter. I need the opinion of the experts in the house. Thanks.

You already did the first thing.

Let me just list the number of things that c can cause this.


1. Bad RAM

2. Bad HDD

3. Corrupt display BIOS



If you have two RAM stick installed, troubleshoot with 1 or get another one and check.


If you can't go through the stress of troubleshooting,I'll advise you take it back to where you got it or take it to a laptop technician.

There is a short to ground in battery section.

See a laptop technician for repair.

Good day guys, So I have been having this issue of my laptop going off (hibernating) after using it for a while,inspected it and I observed that the fan most times does not come on, if it does it'll go off later.
