Sir the market is not dynamic enough. Imagine the 5 top performers are all banks.

Where are all the other industries?

I think business/ real estate/ high interest bonds are the way to go.

The market is a reflection of the economy of a nation. Its dynamism is dictated by the state of the economy and policy makers. for instance you can see what is happening to Tbills rates of recent base on economic policy yet investors still buy Tbills depending on their risk tolerance, business/ real estate/ high interest bonds as you mentioned are other forms of investment. each has its place in investment world and they serve their different purpose. So the market still is a form of investment no matter how risky. All you do is to allocate your resources wisely to maximize your ROI

One will need special training for this o. It sounds cool especially in this Yuletide season

No, you dont need a special training...
Just sit on the net and read...
Google all these Asian countries... they have cheap ways of doing things..
Then practice on a small scale level.... b/4 you start big..

I can relate with the period you just mentioned. It's the period I called era of blind and non calculated risk investment by Nigerians. when people just bought anything in the name of investment. If you really want to make money in the market after defining your goals/investment objectives: Read, read, and read again, be hungry for market and economic information, you will be amazed what you can get from the stock market. For your information that is what happens all over the markets in the different countries of the world. Even the all powerful wall street. But I can see you are not very far from reality. Just put in a little more effort. to understand the dynamics of the stock market you will be fine. I am talking from experience.

I understand your position on these issues Sir and why yours should be deemed accurate and mine the uninformed investors perspective, the robust financial values of these organizations is nothing compared with their digital worth and " dividends "/ profit value investors should benefit from their investments

If I'm the president I'll set up a committee immediately to probe the market and sack all top echelons and ensure regular audit of the market. Let's say the truth the market is a fiasco

I know what I'm saying. If you follow a company's record like Nestle in the past 20 Years and compare it with the averagely Nigerian owned business, you'll notice the glaring difference, not just on the records but in terms of financial values, I.e dividends/stock value/company's performance

Allow me say, let's compare these analytics between Transcorp and Nestle for example

The stock market is sick and needs hospitalization Sir

BTW I managed a person's
stock portfolio ( this may sound funny ) BTW 1994-1999/2000, it was without the funny market scenarios that has been panning out in recent years

Do you mean that a tenant that pays yearly is not entitled to notice to quit assuming his rent has expired and he is even owing for 2 months now?

I doubt if that's the position of the law except it's a fixed tenancy in which case a 7 day's notice is ONLY needed.

At expiration of rent you only need to give him 7 days notice. The expiration of rent is deem a notice in the instance. Reality check, argument in court might last longer than 7 days but you are to give 7 days and not months as erroneously propounded by most lawyers. You only issue quit notice if rent has not expired

Agreed to let her stay free till Feb. I don't have time to even think about any other thing other than making money. I don't need to win always. I accept defeat and pray she meets her match someday. My Tbills investment has never and will never put me in that state.

Thats why anything that isn't organized/regulated institutional investment like tbills is an instant turnoff for me

Thank God this ends in a good note. My sister wasn't so lucky with her one tenants who resorted to using diabolical means so as not to vacate the house. To end the drama, we had to sell of the property and moved the funds into business proper

Business that ties are formed like in the owner/partner/tenant agreements is always subject to this kind of tussles. As the Lord liveth, I've vowed to almost not do business with a black man again. Never

As someone who doesn't own a single property in naija but heavily invested in t bills, I still feel you guys are in a better scenario just incase the economy finally bursts.

At least with a house you're safe from homelessness, inflation risks etc.

My greatest fear is that all this money I'm carrying around could vanish if Nigeria goes Zimbabwe.

But properties are just damn too expensive.

The country is almost in a fiasco. People don't honor business contracts easily.

My rule is simple. I learnt it after over 100 failed partnerships. If I'm not in control of Cash flow, I'm not doing it no matter how watering it is.

There are a few greenhorns rising up trying to do things right, if you can spot/find them, lucky. But its work. Its best to rely on referrals from healthy relationships

About properties been expensive, its subjective, they're many companies now selling properties on instalment basis. In many parts around Dangote refinery you can purchase lands and pay monthly. Look up on properties section for companies offering such services

I'm also scared about Nigeria on a serious note so I have international accounts where I've planned to dump my future earnings in.. I recommend this. Since you're already abroad

I also recommend you the financial markets in Europe and U.S. The rest of your funds if you feel unsure, please retain in your bank account

For me, the only most secured financial security is setting up a manufacturing industry. No matter what happens, the assets retains monetary value

For me o. I ain't doing partnership with a Black man anymore lai lai. Allow me recommend this to you as well.. cheesy

I use robotic software (EA) and it has been very impressive, the daily return is low(around 10-20% monthly but it's consistent), it works only on brokers that allow pro-Cent account, not standard account so the risk is reduced. Also PAMM with authorised & regulated brokers is good with minimal risk

Allow me recommend a trick

Open multiple pro-cent accounts and run the bots on them. Or while using the bots on a percent account, with the aid of your workstation ( VPS + Trade copier ) duplicate the positions using these setup onto your standard account. And enjoy the massive benefits

BTW, FX isn't about speed but consistency, little but gradual accumulation or you try to scale-up your funds on the account

Even with the low rate that people are complaining of, the subscription is still very high and far outstrip the offer from CBN. One man's meat is another man's poison.

You are right, that fact that it is risk free will always make it attractive to Pension fund mangers, finance firms and a few individuals
The NSE is not a total write off because people that know their onions are making it cool there. However, it is important to differentiate TRADING from INVESTING in stocks.
For anyone that wants to venture into trading, it is important that such one does his/her home work on the technicalities and fundamentals of choiced stock picks. Such one has to be well grounded. If investing is your choice, on the other hand, knowing basic fundamentals and antecedent of the company you are buying into is sacrosanct. Such individual has to define his/her purpose of investment and should be able to marry patience while at it.
Investing could be for dividend yield benefits and capital appreciation for which such investor may need to be patient enough to make a deserved kill.
So, INVESTING OR TRADING? Know the difference, define your mission and do your home work!
8.37% bad but better than nothing, true yield would be around 9.4% so we remain here. until it gets below 5% we are good.

then let me sound a note of warning to all newbies/freshers, the stock market is not for children. u can see that even with the low rates, the bills are still oversubscribed. don't just jump into the stock market ,take ur time.
