This thing is prevalent in every region of this country, I have not seen or heard of any Mohammed or Usman or Adewale that graduate from UNN or any other university in SE or SS. You jumped a post explaining, why she was refused admission, due to the fact that hundreds of students scored higher marks than her. Secondly FCT minister, appointment is at the discretion of Mr President, if GEJ the Clueless & OBJ the incest master, choose not to appoint a southerner due to their higher tendencies to corruption, why blame Northerners ?.
Thirdly rearing of animals is an human right thing in our constitution, for any tribe and at any place, however 70% of ipobian assets are in Northern Nigeria while, ordinary cows & goats you cannot tolerate, I fear una oooo.

Same way I scored 270 in jamb 2017 and 270 in post utme respectively, with eight credit in my O' level result including English, Maths, Government, Economics, Commerce etc. But guess what?.. that same A.B.U denied me an admission to study political science of which it's cut off mark is not more that 230 or less. But thankfully I left the school and was now doing well in a business I established that same year. So my dear don't just wait on A.B.U you can rely on Jamb I believe it may play a vital role to secure an admission for you to the University of your choice if this matter reaches its domain.

I learnt that medicine is a no go area for any non Muslim students in almost all the universities in the north. Maybe 1 in a hundred, could be lucky to get the offer.

This is not the first time ABU is doing this, and they do it mostly to christains. Her case is even a mino one because i know a girl who had 9 As in WAEC, 282 in JAMB and was denied admission to read law just because she is from kaduna south. Thanks to God the girl is now a law graduate from UK

It is unimaginable that in this age someone with English , Mathmatics , Chemistry, Biology and scored one of the highest scores in recent times in both JAMB and the Post UTME will end with a course she never when those who scored half of what she scored will end up as medical students.

To deny this girl this admission is to cement the the wrongly held notion that the ABU of today no longer values merit . Using religious quota under any guise is a sacrilage that no Nigerian Muslim or Christian should be subjected to.

Those charged with the responsibility of correcting this error should remember that the tenor of human positions no matter how highly exhalted will one day come to an end only Gods tenure is eternal.

The question is what happened and why she was denied admission. She has a very high score. You cannot tell me that everyone that got admission into that course had above 302, NOT POSSIBLE!

Most times we keep shouting injustice because we want to trend and forget to ask for the full story. Let us ask what happened first, was it ethincity motivated or because she is female or what? Then we know where to head from there.

I'm saying this because I don't see any special reason the school will deny her admission.

This is not a strange thing as far as ABU is concerned and her score is not as high as you are thinking considering she's seeking admission to study medicine and in ABU, one of the best universities in Nigeria.

The quota for medicine is so little in all medical schools compared to the number of aspirants gunning for medicine bringing in competition. The competition becomes more stiff when one applies the top universities. So you don't expect them to admit everybody who just passed cut off mark.

All federal universities use quota system in which admission is based on catchment area, ELDS and merit and preference is given to catchment areas.

If you are not from a state within the catchment area of ABU you have to score the highest in your state before you can gain admission to study medicine in ABU. For instance, if A scores 320 from a non catchment state and B scores 319 from the same non catchment state, only A will be admitted into medicine.

It may interest you to know that ABU doesn't use O'level as criterion to give admission rendering her As almost useless. They use what they call average; the sum of your score in jamb's UTME and ABU's post utme divided by two. That means her average is 288.

This is small to fetch medicine in ABU even if she's from a catchment state.

At least i know lot of yorubas who graduated & attended Unizik....
Nobody is disposing the fact, this kinda scenario happens everywhere in Nigeria but not denying a student a dream course with this kind of high score apart from ABU Zaria, there own is just too much abeg, make they chill joooor
