Maybe she thinks you think she's attracted to you because of something "material" about you, say you're good looking, financially stable, etc. So she had to come up with that to make you subconsciously dissolve the thoughts of her being attracted to you for any of those reasons, hence the reason "..if I say I like you for a purpose, and I don't see those things in you again, I'd dislike you. "

Well, what do I know? I could be wrong, but one thing I know for sure, you can't be attracted to someone for no reason.
