Believing in God outstretches Biblical records. In essence, if you don't believe in a supernatural being, you can never believe in what the bible records. So the op doesn't believe in God hence, he's using what he doesn't understand about the bible as an escape route.

Religion has failed but please who created religion? It's man. And has anything not failed that was created by man? I hope you discover within yourself, the origin and source of all things that were and still are. Then, maybe the Bible will make sense to you.

1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6
This invariably means those who don't believe in Jesus have no business in heaven.
Christians worldwide have an estimated population of 2.4billion people
Islam records an estimate of 1.9 billion adherents, Hindu has an estimated 1.1bn adherents. The remaining world's population have their own beliefs which includes atheism.
If Jesus is the only way to God, what happens to those who don't believe in him? Hell? Well, the Bible suggests so.

2. There are a lot of complications and contradictory remarks in the Bible- a verse says don't drink, another says "Drink for your stomach sake", or "Do not drink wherein excess."
Malachi 3:10 a famous Bible verse on tithing speaks about bringing your tithe to the storehouse (church, maybe)
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 says otherwise, it says "you should drink and be merry with your tithe". I'm seriously beginning to doubt the credibility of the Bible. Maybe the translators' fault or God told writers different stories on the same issue. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John's account of Jesus and see real contradictions.

3. Does God answer prayers? Well, I'm not really sure about that. Someone might be suffering from malaria, the person takes drugs and still prays, the drugs work, but the person thanks God. Or a successful surgical operation, instead of thanking the doctor, they thank God. Some illnesses that would have been treated led to deaths because a certain congregation who were supposed to take the ill persons to the hospital, circled around praying. Faith without work isn't it still dead?
I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue.
I spent 80% of 2019 at home because of my misgivings about God's existence.
I really wish I could be convinced about God's existence because I'm not even happy to be away from Church because of the views of friends and family.

4. Children of God, or so called children of God tend to suffer more tribulations, hard times and desperate moments, a lot of them scream "Vanity upon Vanity" when secular people live in luxury or spend extravagantly. God tends to turn his back on those who worship Him especially when they need Him most.
The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people
Repulsive comments are highly welcome

Household, not church. It's plain English, no need for holy Spirit's interpretation. It's telling you how to spend your tithes, not what to do with your entire produce

Would it still be tithe if you spent it on yourself?

STOP MAKING THESE ILLITERATE EXCUSES FOR RELIGION AND HOLY BOOKS. THERE'S NOTHING MORAL ABOUT STONNING GAYS, NON-VIRGIN WOMEN, AND THE KILLING OF PEOPLE WHO SHARE A DIFFERENT FAITH FROM THE REST. THERE'S NOTHING MORAL IN DROWNING OR SETTING PEOPLE ABLAZE WHEN WE FEEL WE'VE BEEN OFFENDED.

RELIGION WAS NEVER ABOUT SURVIVAL. DID RELIGION PROVIDE ANTIBIOTICS OR INVENT ELECTRICITY?

RELIGION WAS ALWAYS ABOUT CONTROLLING HUMANS WITH THE USE OF VIOLENCE, AIMED AT PROVIDING PROFITS FOR THE HIGHLY PLACED AND POWERFUL.

NO EXCUSES.

That isn’t the true message of religion !
That is just man mis-interpretation and distortion of religion to suit their need.

True religion (no matter what it is ) is a beautiful thing concentrated on making the world, our world, a better place.

Hi there.

I have spent a considerable portion of my time here on Nairaland addressing things like this in the hopes of getting through to people like you. I have also talked with other people outside Nairaland about these things. My impression in general of statements like yours is that you have already made up your mind about God. This often forms the beginning of a career of God-mockery, but who knows, you might be the different one in ten thousand. So, here are my answers for whatever they may be worth.

1. If grabbing a lifeline is the only way to be saved from drowning, do you get mad at the lifeguard for throwing out a lifeline and not magically saving everyone who decides to hang on to rotting wood or to collapsing icebergs or to tread water? I think you would agree that it is madness to be mad at the lifeguard for providing a lifeline and making sure that it is available to everyone who may want to be saved from drowning. That is precisely why Jesus Christ was given by the Father to die for all of our sins. There is no other way to escape eternal condemnation. Every other thing anyone wishes to take hold of is merely rotting wood, rotting ice, and starving sharks.

Hello,

Please answer this question for me.

People existed over 5,000 years before Jesus came to earth. If he is the only way, what was the fate of those people who never even got to know him?

All religions have deficiencies in their writings but by and large Christianity is the biggest fraud of them all. They are the only one that says you must follow Jesus to go to heaven. What a boatload of TRASH that is.
The same Jesus was son of God and God at the same time - Another fraud.
Jesus was born my immaculate conception - biggest fraud in the bible.
Jesus has been coming back since more than 2000 years ago - Big fraud. He's dead and he aint coming back. He died just like other human being that had their hearth stopped pumping blood. The rest is just Hollywood fantasy story written by the Romans to control the rest of the world.

Close to 70 PERCENT of the WORLD POPULATION are not even Christians, so you are telling me that they are all going to hell?

Most that are Christians were born into the religion, that means that GOD has already punished about 70 percent of the world when they were born into other religions. I beg save me the trash. That means that God himself is mean by allowing most of the world population to be born into regions where Christianity is not prevalant. I doubt that.

My world outlook is to be good to others, and treat people the way you want to be treated. If there's heaven, then you will make it.

Woke generation... I pray you don't have to have a negative experience before you believe. An encounter beyond reasoning made most of us believe.

Analogies like these will make no sense after the encounter. You think Christians are stupid? No they aren't. They've only experienced what you are yet to get a hang of.

Hopefully, the Christians too will see what you now see in atheism, perhaps...

Well, looking at the perfection of various creations, I don't doubt the existence of God. For instance, in human...we have male and female and of course, there is clear thick line between them in terms of some body parts, i don't think I have ever seen a situation whereby a male will have a womb exclusively known to belong to women. The creation is just so perfect that such error is clearly impossible. Again, as humans, we need certain things for survival which are only available on earth and not available, as of now, on other known planets. There must be a force responsible for this and I think it will not be out of place to call this force God. However, to every discerning minds, there are some things that are just obviously doubtful but which form the basis of our various religions. E.g The teaching of hell and heaven. The teaching of after life, the teaching of karma and the rest.

To me, all these concept are necessary for the survival of any religion. People always want a refuge of hope and consolation for their weaknesses. And this our various religions are beautifully offering. Hence, the reason why every religion emphasize faith and believe system as unavoidable requirement for every true worshipers. If not, will people not one day rise and begin to demand for evidence of what they do ?

Anyway, all in all, I pray that there is actually after life, because totally disappearing from this world by means of death do scare the shit out of me...

I have been an atheist b4. I don't do religion, but my belief is God knoweth all things and do as he wishes. If you like pray from now till next year that you won't die, you can even die while praying. we are nothing in the hands of the creator. I.e, you create different robots on a.I(artificial intelligence) and you leave them all in perpetual continuity, you can decide to turn off anyone, or do what you like to any1 as long as you created it and no one can hold you accountable..that's the way God is. You can't question a creator. I am nothing in the hands of the creator..pls ponder on these statement..There is God.,that's my belief, but other religion like xtian, Islam etc.,I don't really believe in those ones. I watched a film yesterday and I gat a little insight about life and its mystery, although its a Yoruba comedy..( Ibapade 1&2). you can watch it to get a message..

You said there's no God and you're feeling on top of the world
1. is it America that created the air you're breathing?
2. is it kainji dam that generated the water bodies of the world. Oceans, seas, rivers etc.
3. The sea and land animals. where did they come from?
4. Have you wondered how a mixture of gas(the cloud) is able to hold all matter on earth in place and not allow to just pass through it.
5.And the other NUMEROUS planets, is it Albert Einstein or Michael Faraday that created them. I have more questions for you anyway.

But until you answer these ones accurately with facts, I feel what you need is to be EDUCATED on who God really is, but not doubt HIS existence. Doubting his existence could prove to be very fatal for you.

If you want to find reasons not to believe God in this life you'll find more than enough reasons. But to be online with God is not the path of rationalisation. And fractured objections that typifies your post. You need someone you can have a one on one heart to heart discussion with about it. After which you can make your decision.

If you're willing, we can discuss off the forum.

Bro that's why rapture will not come now.. Because they didn't choose their country.. Until they hear the word of God and see it for themselves but yet refused to change, then rapture comes..

It is written, that until the whole world hear abt Jesus, then the end comes. So dt on that day, there will be no excuse whatsoever

You call it God or god whatever but I know there's a force controlling activities on this galaxy and beyond and that force is acknowledged.

If only the world knew Jesus, things would be easier for anybody thinking Religion is a scam, I agree with you but even though we are humans and we tend to forget, never ever forget for those of you who are clinging to the last thread of hope

Jesus Christ is Real, He knows you more than you know yourself ,your pains , yours fears, your joy. I have encountered him more than once and my first encounter was very similar to Saul of Tarsus and I have given my life to him. He is the way, the truth and life and he loves you.

Hmmm!!! Jesu ni otito ooo, e ma je ki eni tan yin je

God the Father of Lights is Real

As for other religion, far from it that God does wicked or evil , he will judge all according to their hearts and his standard for them. I do not believe a Hindu or Muslim will perish for not knowing Jesus.

He works in mysterious ways and he knows his own flock, God is seeping through the Nigerian stratosphere and an example is the gospel artists that have broken into boomplay(ages 16- 35) it was not so previous years ago. Go back to your first love and accept Jesus Christ today.
People are turning to Christ and its happening right under your noses, do not be like the man who built his house on the sand.

For anyone who wants to know more about Jesus, send me a dm

Yes there are contradictions in the Bible. But I think this boils down to the interpreters .it's could be human errors. But that's not enough to suggest God does not exist though. I have seen things in this world that convinced me beyond every reasonable doubt that God exist.Years ago when I was sick,I was taken to one herbal Doctor.in the cause of treating me he told me many stories which I believe where true because he had no reason to lie to me.one of the story he told me was his experience when he went to fight spiritual war with a genuine Christian. He said he was a distance from the man's house when he started seeing fire burning on top the man's House, he had to run for his life. But he said he has successfully fought and defeated many Christians too.when I asked why he was able to defeat those ones he simply replied with this profound words."They have spoilt their hands with sin". Sincerely I was dumfounded, why a witch doctor was saying this was beyond my imagination. What I deduced from the story is that God protects with fire, but protects those that does his will and desist from sins.Even my life is a testimony too.I have survive too many attacks that also convinced me of the existence of God.my bro how wish I can see you one on one.
