justwise: Again, not el dorado for me anymore and you’ve been consistently posting to attack my move back to Nigeria. Why, I don’t know, it’s not as if it’s a community project. Others have called you out on it too. You don’t know what I’ve achieved or can achieve cause you’re not omnipotent 12 Likes 1 Share |

justwise:That is not true. You are not God and do not know where he would have been. not everyone that moved abroad was jobless or poor. I came to school and was offered a job before I finished, which I took because I wanted "international experience". For a number of years and sometimes even till now I still wonder if I made the right call given where I would have been. I had a very good and high paying job which many people would literally die for. I plan o return, hopefully soon but for now, I am trying to make up lost ground. Please don't air your opinion about someone's situation or decisions as fact because you may be wrong. 30 Likes |

PART 5: Now, we are in Nigeria, Ibadan specifically. I will not compare the USA to Nigeria but only reference when i find it necessary. The USA is light years of Nigeria and Nigeria can never match the USA in a million years, my personal opinion. So let's just dey our dey and they dey their dey This is not to say that Nigeria will not make improvements. She will but it will be at a staggering low pace. You can have peaceful existence in both places or hard existence equally in both places. Messrs Dangote and Otedola are in Nigeria. Joe the whino is on skidrow in Los Angeles. May our blessings find us where ever we are at. What I want to do in this part is introduce you to a few people. None of them knows me but they have an impact on why I decided to make my move when I did. Not all of them are in Nigeria, some are in Ghana and other African countries. I link specific videos that were of interest to me. Jasmine Ama - Ghana I watched a lot of her videos on Ghana. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0UBhRbyIss Kulu Vlogs - Northern Nigeria I watched almost all her videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj607icqHBM Tayo Aina Films - Lagos, Nigeria I watched a lot of his drone videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn8_NdaibkQ&t=14s If you watch only one video, this is it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKAFwjcx0gA The Returneez I watched a lot of the series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzvDAGMYz1c Just to put this out there. Enjoy. ________________________ Originally posted at Village Headmaster Forums / http://forums.villageheadmaster.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=52#p59 9 Likes 3 Shares |

Taal17: Greetings. Though I really don’t have to create an income stream from Nigeria, I want to so that I can remain intellectually active (has been shown in studies to be ideal in advanced ages) and also to give my little token back to the youths in Nigeria. One of the business ideas that I came home with is affordable housing for low income earners. Unfortunately the way it is in Nigeria is that people have to basically go way out to the outskirts. This compounds the issues of low earners due to cost of transportation and commuting time. I then realized that most of the affordable real estate that I purchased are in these suburbs. If I had started buying 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago then the lands could still be available closer to places of business and more affordable. What ends up happening is that most companies who claim to offer affordable housing ends up either in the forest or they buy existing homes in city centers, knock them down and rebuild. Costs goes up and affordability goes out the window. So my advice to Canada bound folks is to secure real estate, some way, some how. But most don’t have the foresight. They’re single handedly focused with nary a care about Nigeria. The other thing is that the advent of internet has made internet banking easy. With sites like BossRevolution and others, one can easily fund local bank accounts. If I had started earlier doing that then I wouldn’t have wasted money on stuff like jet skis and other nonsense Anyways, it’s all good and God’s time is the best. 11 Likes 1 Share |

This is a beautiful thread sir. I'll implore you to ignore the naysayers to avoid derailing the thread. My question to you is regarding investing while working abroad. How do you navigate that? Does it require monitoring by someone on ground here in Nigeria? And if so how do you know who to trust? Enjoy your retirement sir. 2 Likes |
