WTF... How does a public holiday affect livelihood? I pity those Muslims who claim new year day isn't their holiday. Yet ask them their date of birth they will bring the date from the gregorian calendar. What message are they passing? Hypocrisy or what?

A very welcome idea. Nigerian government should also consider the traditional religion and the atheists. Just share the 365 days equally so that everybody would benefit. Government should be ready to take responsibility for our up keep, since all workers are at home for the 365 day public holiday.

I think MURIC is a very stupid organisation.

The holidays created by Christian Church are New Year, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas and Boxing day, yes these are give days. However, MURIC in all it's wisdom has failed to acknowledge that Id Ftir is celebrated for two days, Id Kabir is celebrated for two days as well while Id Malud is celebrated for one day.

Instead of MURIC to look into core issues in Nigeria, they are arguing like juveniles.

The most stupid public outcry by the muric on a national issue......so public holiday is the most important issue we have at hand in Nigeria if not that there are sick........apart from that, so the first day of a new year belongs to Christian's alone......such a stupid statement
