It's really not about being down to earth except you're not dating to ultimately marry. Most times, Nigerian female students are not ready for marriage so they'll be milking you. Only a few of them who are in their finals really reason.

The comments from these ladies baffles me alot, yet they are quick to tag men as scum. I like you OP, you sound like a man, truth and key idea is; if you can't know the truth from your partner unless you "dig", then the relationship is not worthwhile, someone you intend to marry shouldn't play games around you and her ex, all these girls and "my ex" are not worth any stress, setting a standard is not over reacting. But then it's still your game, the choice is solely yours to make.

So you actually ignored the fact that she went back to her ex to get a phone and also that she told both the boyfriend and her parents different lies?

All you could only draw out was just that he overacted, an action born out of his fear of what might eventually happen between the lady and her ex since he(the ex) now has a reason to always come in(bought her a new phone)

Now I know why they always say it's unwise to get relationship advice from females... Total mislead
