Better for him because he might have been dead by now if he had decided to return home or still struggling for ends meet.

Don't mind them. Most of them are probably pampered kids.

Maybe his fortune lies in the UK.

As seen in evidence of 21 years of homelessness sleeping on public transport

He wasted 21 years of his life. If he had returned home, there is a possibility he would made something significant of his life during that period.

Opportunities abounds everywhere in Nigeria and people are making it big all over the country. Anyway, congratulations to him for finally getting the “leave to remain” in the UK. At least, he can start life all over again at 55. We never can tell what he can achieve before 70.
. This is stupidity

Are there not homeless Nigerian citizens in Nigeria? Some have been sleeping under the bridges for more than 21yrs. The man weighed his options and made his choice and he has been living with the consequence of his choice, I wonder why that should be anyone's headache. I thank God for him that his story has changed eventually, because he could also have continued sleeping in the buses till his death. It is a testimony!

People die for avoidable reasons on the streets of Nigeria daily - some people re looking for family and friends to use for money ritual - its quite scary here..
And it's London people don't die for avoidable reasons? In the USA, atleast you've been hearing and reading how people die due to the increasingly avoidable gun crimes.

You've not died same as millions of Nigerians. So you can say all that is bad about Nigeria but only a lunatic will think that sleeping in London buses is better than sleeping in the mansions of Banana island

Irony is, your life ia better than many Nigerians who travelled out of the country and are stuck over there.

My wonderful years of travelling (Africa, Europe, Asia and the America's). I discovered that Most Nigerian are very Foolishly, languishing and Suffering in another man's Land.

Some are in Prisons, Living in Abandoned Structures, Hiding in Clubs like Rats etc.

Bunch of Idiots, Locuras, M.U.M.U, Swine's etc

I do associate myself with Nigerians abroad, if am there officially, but if my trip is not Official, I can never use my Nigeria passport, I stop using it for personal trip since 2017, because of Some Nigerian, that don't deserve to be called Humans.

This Country have failed no one, but some of her Citizens have really failed the Country Home and Abroad.

Nigeria is Blessed but it's quit unfortunate, that we have Scumbags Citizens, who are Cursed to Disgrace us Home and Abroad.

Smh
ooooooD!ck

If you are making it here, you should count yourself lucky. For most Nigerians, the country is a living hell.
I hope you are aware of the fact that Nigeria is right now, the poverty capital of the world. And the situation is getting worse.

For your information, I'm not anti Igbo, I'm ANTI IPOB MISCREANTS.

My favorite in law is Igbo whom I have known since I was a teenager and we get along better than some other people in my family. I deal with other Igbos on daily basis. There are decent reasonable and logical Igbos unlike the retarded brainwashed ipob Biafuro fools.

By this time tomorrow I should be getting ready to board my Delta flight to Atlanta. By 10pm I should be in my Delta one seat, with my shoes off, jacket taking care of by by hostess while I'm sipping on a cold glass of mimosa before the plane even leaves the ground.
That's the life you can only dream of.
And guess what, I'm back to Nigeria in just about 3 to 4 days. That's the life I live, dream and work hard and pray for such life.

21-yrs is a freaking long time to be wasted hoping and waiting for papers. In those 21-yrs he could have developed himself in many more meaningful ways. It's not easy being an illegal immigrant abroad. Smh.

That left him with two options: go home to a country under the iron fist of a military ruler, where his death sentence would finally be carried out, or go underground. It wasn’t a difficult choice.”

He had a death sentence hanging over his head. He would most likely have been killed!

And do what? To come and face harsher one here now we have Buhari as a president.
Presently, sleeping in Buses in UK is far better than sleeping in a mansion in Banana island, Lagos.
Serene environment, security fully at alert, good paying jobs to sustain, no stray bullets from untrained policemen, but in Banana island, flood fit come your bedroom come carry you enter sea.
That's a slave mentality.

The death sentence na “sakamanje”. Asylum seekers always come up with lies to deceive Oyinbos that terrible consequences await them at home if they are not granted asylum. Even Nnamdi Kalu that jumped bail won’t be killed if he steps into Nigeria not to talk of one unknown Sunny.

It's painful how many Nigerians abroad believe those countries are better than Nigeria. Imagine spending 21 years homeless just because he is scared of coming back to Nigeria. That's too bad. I have been to America, and the first day I stepped my foot in America, the first tot that crossed my mind is that my country can be better than this, I mean we have the resources and potential to be better than America, but the majority of our youths have given up. We have accepted defeat. We need to believe in our country and in ourselves.
