If you are willing to wait for 10 -15 years before you migrate to the US, cause that is how long it is going to take for your brother filing for you to be approved.

I'm just curious to know.
I would like to be more enlightened on this.

If my brother, I meant my own blood brother becomes an American citizen, I as a Nigerian, what do I stand to gain from it?

Will it increase my chances of traveling to America, will I have better chances to gain from institutions there, or and what other benefits do I stand to gain.

The only benefit Is that he'll show you around and probably give you somewhere to lay your head if you make it there.
But it aiint gonna increase your chances in anyway.

Yorubas' usually say , "ajumobi o ko ti aanu ,eniti oluwa ba ran sini ni seni laanu. This saying may be translated (roughly done)as , rendering assistance or helping a fellow brother or sister is not must (even if na same mother ,same father) , it is only those assigned by God to be of help to you that will make it happen)

We all know helping is not by force.

But is that what the op asked?

You are even a lucky. You knew there are efforts to assist you get over there ,just hasn't pull through yet. There are some people(same mother same father oOo) that will only be posting you and telling you to stay over and that just remain hopeful and actually ,the person isn't doing anything about it.

-He can send an invite
- He can stand for you as your sponsor when you're applying to a school in the US

Also if you do get to the US, he can provide you a sort of soft landing . That's if he has sense of course

I think those are the only benefits

Me that my mother is a citizen since 5 years ago now I'm still here in Nigeria despite all efforts to migrate me..

But OP your chances of traveling to america one day is high since your brother is a citizen over there.

I hope you are not one of those that has been supporting Iran against america

Don't mind him let he come and enter American na

There are benefits but the onus is on your brother if he decides to help you or not. If you have a brother in America, he can file for you to come over but it will take a period of 10years minimum for that to happen; even at that it doesn’t happen instantly. I know of someone a sister in America that filed for her sister too in Nigeria but it’s been over 20 years but she didn’t follow it up but when she decided to follow it up; it went through. The day the sister in Nigeria went for interview at the embassy they granted her visa immediately because looking at her file it was long overdue and the sister is married; so they granted them visa together the husband

If he's actually interested in helping you go, there's lots of valuable information he can share. And if his finances are strong, it would facilitate any opportunity you take advantage of there, assuming he agrees to be part of your process.

Does he have a business or plan to start one? Do you want to study there?

I'm not sure you read the post correctly. No offence, but the question is whether the OP can gain something from the fact that his brother is an American citizen. Whether the brother is obliged to help or not is not the subject of discussion today.

Higher chances of travelling if he is willing to assist

Right on point.

Keywords:
Higher Chances
Willingness.

Why can't a brother of good status in the USA successfully invite and bank roll his brother's visit to USA?

Your quote is out of context.
The question was wether his brother is in a good position to help him. Is there a benefit he can potentially enjoy ? The question wasn’t about his brother’s willingness, rather his ability

Best answer so far.

Your brother can file for you but you are at the lowest priority when it comes to family migration. It will take about 15 years and its not even guaranteed. Plus the laws might have changed by then the way Trump and his cohorts are trying to keep minorities out. If you are a white caucasian, then your chances are far better.

I don't know the reason why some people does not always use his or her brain to think. Is that the answer to the question? It will increase ur chance to lived there and giving a greater opportunity to school and gain admission over there. Keep on praying for your brother.

Even if you were given birth to by the same parent(mother and father) , it doesn't necessarily mean you'd find yourself in the USA because your brother is there . He may not have the 'willingness' to assist you and somebody else's (not related by blood or marriage) may be more than willing to assist. The latter is whom God has designed to assist you in life rather than the person you had earlier hoped will do it and confident about

but in reality theres nothing a sibling can do, Parents still have some right or lee way in 'assisting' but two grown up individuals nothing in the law can nudge the decision process.

It increases your chances with the visa officer, the officers know you have a place to stay so you won’t be homeless once you get there.

Just apply with complete and correct documents and your chances are higher than people who have nobody there.
