He can get you a green card visa earlier than an average US citizen if he files immigration papers for you.

What's your bro's rank? Any idea?

Right on point.

Keywords:
Higher Chances
Willingness.

Why can't a brother of good status in the USA successfully invite and bank roll his brother's visit to USA?

That is not how non-immigrant or visitor’s visa works.....having a US citizen brother can be a negative to your visitor’s visa application because you can been seen as having a dual intent, because you also qualify for green card visa and might not want to come back to Nigeria.

Even if you were given birth to by the same parent(mother and father) , it doesn't necessarily mean you'd find yourself in the USA because your brother is there . He may not have the 'willingness' to assist you and somebody else's (not related by blood or marriage) may be more than willing to assist. The latter is whom God has designed to assist you in life rather than the person you had earlier hoped will do it and confident about
But this does not address the question. You have digressed.

My brother, that someone is in America doesn't mean that they have made it in life. It doesn't mean that they are successful. Most are struggling to pay Bill's and put food on the table. Most owe credit cards, mortgages and plenty of insurances. Plus Uncle Sam (taxes) will not smile with you when it comes to that regard. If you make $500 a week, depending on your tax deductables you might end up receiving $380 a week. Most of these guys you mentioned dont pay taxes. In America, if you make like $500,000.00 in a year, you might end up paying over $165,000.00 in taxes, but in Nigeria you'll pocket all the money. Most people in Nigeria are better than some Africans in America.
Of course I know better, my post was not mainly for the op's initial post but an indirect response to the lady that posted after the original poster.

I used the opportunity to enlighten others and pass my message across, and I used myself as an example because I love using myself as reference when driving home my point.

So many people are born wicked, even if they are as rich as Dangote, they don't love helping their relatives, friends and loved ones. Some parents are even stingy to their own children.

As for me, the sole reason I want to make more more money and have so many successful businesses and investments and possibly venture into politics someday is not for myself alone because as it stands now by Gods grace I and my unborn kids won't lack, we will live a very good life but I want to touch lives. I want to help some people become rich, it is my solemn desire and request from God everyday.

I have helped some, but I want to help many more. I want people to look back and point to me or mention my name as the man that helped to shape their destiny and made them who they are.

I want to be that destiny helper many people pray for, that's who I want to be and I made my post to inspire more people to join and become destiny helpers because we need more of it in Nigeria

I'm just curious to know.
I would like to be more enlightened on this.

If my brother, I meant my own blood brother becomes an American citizen, I as a Nigerian, what do I stand to gain from it?

Will it increase my chances of traveling to America, will I have better chances to gain from institutions there, or and what other benefits do I stand to gain.

Someone who is relying on his brother to relocate will be able to afford the costs involved in Canada's emigration process?
Did he say is relying? He wants to know the advantages of having a brother as it relates to traveling to ame. Simple

Your brother can actually file for a green card for you. But once he does it will take time as long as 5 years or more on the queue and during that time it will be hard for you to get a visit visa since you have already declared your intention to migrate.

So it is more advisable for him to invite you then when you come visiting, he can then file to adjust your status. That way you can get a work permit to work and also get advanced parole if you want to travel out of USA before you green card is approved.

Not true. A brother or sister that's a US citizen can file a petition for his/her brother or sister but it takes years to process. Hence, the earlier the filing is done, the better.

He can file for you for green card. Though the process is not as fast as if he files for his mum but you are eligible.

Wow, he is a big shot. Wait a minute, an 0-8 USMarine of Nigerian origin and he enlisted in 2009. That's kinda odd though.
I'm an 0-4 and I enlisted as a commissioned officer not too long afterwards.

You are not entitled to any benefits. His citizenry is not your lifes saving grace, god forbid but he may at one point need your support more than you may need his!

Strive to be successful where you find yourself, and pray he excels as an American citizen. If he is the type that remembers his people, then you have hope.

But this one wey you dey look for benefits so, hmmm. If i be your bros i go dey fear already.

If you are fatherly and motherly born, he can file I-130 form for you to get green card
Re: Having A Brother As An American Citizen! What Are My Benefits? by Lifecanbeamazin: 11:27pm On Jan 13, 2020
The benefit: Your brother can fill out F4 application on your behalf but it will take between 13 to 14 before you'll be called for interview. If you meet all requirements and secure a Visa, you'll be given green card and after 5 yrs you'll qualify to become a citizen. If you're married and have kids, they'll be given visas as well. Its very expensive though
Re: Having A Brother As An American Citizen! What Are My Benefits? by Lifecanbeamazin: 11:32pm On Jan 13, 2020
"If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen you may be able to sponsor your brothers or sisters to come to the United States as permanent residents.

However, U.S. immigration laws don’t permit green card holders to sponsor their brothers or sisters.

According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to petition your siblings to live in the United States as a green card holder, you must be a U.S. citizen and be at least 21 years old.

To sponsor a sibling, the U.S. citizen must file Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative."

An American citizen can file for his family to get green card, and it takes couple of years for it to be approved and the person would get his or her green card and after five years the green card holder would file to become an American citizen

Me that my mother is a citizen since 5 years ago now I'm still here in Nigeria despite all efforts to migrate me..

But OP your chances of traveling to america one day is high since your brother is a citizen over there.

I hope you are not one of those that has been supporting Iran against america

Since your mum has a good job......once she wants you over there..the deal is done....except she does not have a good job...or married to a man that does not want her children over there......

with a brother that is a citizen......you can come over legally but the filling last 10yrs.....otherwise he can still invite you over or get admission for you....you may still succeed in going over but not that easy

If u're 21 yrs of age & unmarried, ur brother can file for green card for u . But it takes at least 10yrs to get approval. It takes only 1 yr or less for spouse, parents & biological children of a United states citizen. Am telling u this out of experience. Good luck.

You are even a lucky. You knew there are efforts to assist you get over there ,just hasn't pull through yet. There are some people(same mother same father oOo) that will only be posting you and telling you to stay over and that just remain hopeful and actually ,the person isn't doing anything about it.

I guess you are a living witness, Abi? Meaning you are a LIVE example...

It takes 10 years to complete the process of getting a sibling to the US.
Going through the same right now.
