The banks will make more profit than they have been making. Banks still do OMO, in fact the whole arrangement is to their advantage, less interest expense for them. Jim Ovia will need the money now. 200b PAT is not beans. They can afford to pay 50% as dividend.
Coolcash1:

I will donate my balls if Zenith pay that high...Any forward looking management will know that profit retention is key now for banks considering the harsh monetary policies emanating from the CBN especially with the authority banning banks from investing in TB.

No soothsayer need to tell you that the era of gargantuan profits by banks is gone....Q1-2020 result will justify it... cool

The merger of SA business with Wapco to form Lafarge Africa was never a mistake. It was deliberate. Whilst, I must commend their decision to spin-off this unit to give the Nigerian shareholders a sigh of relief. I am still not convinced that the business can take on Dangote Cement in the interim. One can test the waters with one hand if the FOMO is an issue.

Cement business is more profitable in Nigeria than elsewhere in Africa.
Larfarge fortune has been going down since that devilish union with SA units.

If they have concentrated those resources and energy on improving and increasing their capacity in Nigeria, they would have done far far better.
The foreign denominated loan they took in the process inflicted heavy blow on them when naira was devalued.

Okay. Hope you didnt buy plenty units. Dont buy anything again ...for now.
Some of those stocks have appreciated in price over a period of some weeks, pull back or profit taking is expected.
Try and set your "Stop Loss', so that if it continues to fall (not saying it will/may continue) you can sell at minimal loss and buy later, when there's indication that market will go up again.
Pls dont panic, if it goes down it goes up again........and vice versa.
You've started learning small small be that. grin

The finesse of the haircut will to a large extent be defined by the prevailing cycle when one entered the market.
bull market = original hair cut
bear market = wannabe hair cut

just de pity those newbies wey see green shoots here and there and are seeming getting excited and being carried away

Abi, I'm surprised a veteran like him can say Zenith won't go below N21. I mean, this same Zenith we all know or another one?

Below was one of such posts. Just two months after the post, it traded at N19

awesomeJ:
When I held fidelity, it was like the most talked about stock here, now I hold Zenith, and it's on every page.

I am 100% sure that this stock won't trade below #20 for the rest of this year.

Assuming a 260k full year dividend, #20 gives it a 13% DY, and with the current trend in the fixed income markets, I don't see Zenith, or any other big cap, doing above that yield with dividends.

It may not even touch Oracle's 22 before reversing.

As for me and my households, we will be waiting at sub 16 cool

I never witnessed this with other stock brokers I have been using. I bought a stock using morgancapitalgroup, the other was filled and I got debited from my account after everything. It surprises that the stock I bought vanished after the whole process, only for them to leave meagre units for me.They refuded me back my money, but the money they refunded is not complete. I feel cheated and deceived by morgancapital. I have tried to contact them, but they refused to honour my emails. This is very bad of them to be ripping off people in a coded way.

Forming a strong one at that junction (N15).

When Peter goes into full advert and 'promotion' (with due respect to Mpeace), it will leave that junction to another higher one. grin grin
