good day house, I'm new to this thread. Pls I want to seek advice from you guys. I'm applying for masters to the university of Waterloo, department of electrical and computer engineering. As one of the top-most rated schools in Canada with acceptance rate of about 54%, I expect the selection process to be more strict than most of the others universities in the country.

The concern for me is:

1. that though I meet all the specified requirements, my undergraduate CGPA is just a little bit above the minimum CGPA requirement. so the question now is how often do people who barely meet the minimum requirements get rejected? Is Waterloo highly selective?

2. secondly, I am almost done with my master's program in Nigeria and I'm expecting a CGPA of somewhere between 4.44 - 4.67; will making use of this master's CGPA as my last two semesters in school help to boost my profile and chances of being selected since this is a convincingly high CGPA?

how easy/difficult is it to get into Waterloo for Nigerians generally. I will kindly appreciate your reply. In my application now, all that is left is to click apply and pay the application fee

Pls I need your advice. I don't want to waste my precious time applying

Is the guardian your sponsor? ..

No. The school is funding me with $18,400, he wants to provide additional support if 1.5 million. I lost my dad and he has been the one supporting ever since (I stated this in my SOP and provided a letter of support and affidavit of sponsorship.

You are good to go, just make sure he shows commitment by paying the said money into your personal account before you apply. When filling the application form, use "scholarship" as your funding.
NB: Hope the $18,400 covers your tuition and living expenses? If yes, then do what I said above

Yeah it covers everything. It has been stated in my support letter from the university.

Good Morning house! Please I need a clearer understanding concerning SOA!!
Between a Company Account and a personal account of my elder bro who owns his company which out of the two account is preferable to use.

Thanks as I’m waiting for different views.

You can use your uncle's personal account if it has a good cash flow over the past 4 - 6 months plus the required amount by CIC. However, if your uncles personal SOA does not have a good cash flow, you should submit his personal SOA alongside his business SOA. You can also attach CAC documents showing he is the sole signatory to the account.

Hey, house gurus

I'm new here and interested in pursuing an MSC (Educational Leadership) in Canada.

I completed my Bsc (Accounting) in Malaysia. My sponsor will be my mum, and she will be able to pay my full tuition and other fees in one go, even before the visa application. I have no issues with finances.

I am going for Educational Leadership because my family owns a school, whose management I am a part of. I plan to take over the school after my MSC. That's why I switched careers (From accounting to education). Will this fly to an embassy vo?

Also, I don't have any ties except for my job. Will that a problem?

PS: I was denied a US study visa in November 2019.

You have no problem.

Sponsor is your mum which is very good. Show proofs of how she supported you in Malaysia all through your studies and emphasize how you were well behaved as an international student. Make sure you mention how you obeyed the laws of Malaysia Immigration as an international student, attended all classes and graduated with good grades (if you graduated with good grades, attach transcript). Also mention how you returned to Nigeria on the completion of your studies in Malaysia (I am assuming you are in Nigeria at the moment).

Changing programs is not a big deal once the reason is convincing.

"To take over a business requires more than understanding numbers, cash flow and how to balance accounts but also how to manage and lead people. You strongly believe your Masters program in Educational Leadership in Canada (mention the school) will positively position you towards taking over the family business".

Make sure you mention one or two modules of the program, explain its importance to you in taking over your family business and the skills you will gain on completion of the program and how it will be applied now and in the future. Make sure your LOE is convincing, easy to read and free of errors.

Also, you are part of the school management, do you have proofs? If you do, mention it in your LOE and attach proofs.

Your home tie is not just your job. Coming back to take over the family business is a strong home tie as well.

Make sure you declare your previous USA refusal while filling the CIC form.

I wish you all the best.

Hello Everyone,

I am really not a regular commenter here but I thought I should share my short story.

Sometime in June last year, I came looking for information about BCS Certificate in IT exams, I had no knowledge of how to even begin the process at the time.

Fast forward to January 2020, I have began the evaluation process for my BCS CIT and on course to get that 2 or more certificates that has been so required for EE lately.

I was lucky to find a group on Telegram then which connected me with some tutors (BNT). This exam is not easy, but with the right assistance and guidance, it will be a walk in the park.

I wish to help anyone interested in the March exams achieve their dreams, we will all get to the promise land. I recommend the BNT tutors for anyone who is in need, they helped me and I am not shy to sing their praises.

I dont know how to share their contact without violating the rules but you can search for them on telegram or via their website: www.techbnt.com or send an email to techbnt@gmail.com.

You will be glad you need.

I wish i had the money to afford them, however can i have your bnt materials? Please?

Hi everyone,

Please I need our help urgently as I plan to submit my visa application on Monday. I've been following the thread, kudos to everyone for the great works we are doing.

I got a fully funded masters ($18,400) at University of Manitoba. I have gathered all the relevant documents including landed property, previous travel stamps and letter of introduction from my previous university.

To further support this, my guardian wants to support me with 1.5 million for my travel and settling down. However, his personal bank statement has a balance of 1.9 million with 10 million transaction in the past 6 months. Please is it advisable for me to use this?

Kindly help me with this, my appointment is booked for Monday. Thanks
.

Congratulations bro

Please I will like you to give us a breakdown of your profile is Course, CGPA, GRE, IELTS and others.

Thanks

Guys please I need help with Canada biometrics appointment at VFS.

I went there today for biometrics, they told me I need to first schedule appointment but I haven't been able to schedule it since morning. I am getting "You have exceeded the maximum no. of allowed appointments" error when I try to schedule online but I have never scheduled any appointment. I also sent them email to schedule appointment, they just said they'll get back to me, I haven't heard anything. I am trying to schedule the appointment for Monday, please help.

How long does the visa application take? Can I apply for a fall 2020 admission?

You are right: I did return to Nigeria immediately I completed my Bsc in Malaysia. My sponsor was my Dad, but he is late now, so his properties and money went to my Mom.

Good evening

Who’s willing to review my Letter of Intent for me?

I’m applying for a masters program in masters of management(logistics and supply chain) in university of Windsor.

I just finished with it and would like someone to review it to ensure it’s good enough to send it in.

If you said three weeks, that’s not too long ago because Conestoga takes time to refund and it will take more time for it to hit your account. You need to be patient if you have done the right things and supply the right informations.
I hope you filled the account in which you paid the money from in the first place?
Oga Jeff may be of help. Look for his handle here and hear from him too.

I used an agent but the idiot is not doing anything to help with the refund. I had to take over my account myself. He used his account to pay.

How did you pay?

The payment was made for me by an agent I was using. I've taken over my account since I kept asking him to do something about the refund and he didn't even care.

So I had to fill in my own account details.

refunds are usually sent back to the account it originated from.. So get back to your agent

The money can only be returned to the person that made the payment, meanwhile, how did your agent pay? (WU, Bank transfer etc)

Congratulations!

When is your resumption date that made you plan to book for flight so quickly?.. Also the immigration that approved your visa was Kenya not Lagos as you thought. The high commission in Lagos only serve as intermediary office to the immigration at Nairobi.

Uncle (sponsor) should transfer the money meant for living expenses in full. The money should reflect in your account for a minimum of 1-2 weeks prior to printing the SOA. Also, try to establish a reasonable proof of relationship between you and your uncle.

It will end in praises.

Awesome!, if you're very certain you can be able to meet up for the winter session. You can go ahead and book for your flight. However, passport dispatching takes between 2-3 weeks. So I don't think you will still make it for the winter. On the other hand, you can contact/email the university of Windsor about the possibility of late resumption.

I think you should email the school first because they have a deadline for resumption, before booking your flight, to avoid stories that touch. They need to issue you a letter which you would present at the border. The letter gives you permission to resume late. If you don’t present that letter, you might have issues.

This is an automated email sent by VAC to every applicant that submitted their application via the paper route. This doesn't mean your application was processed and handled at the IRCC office in Lagos.
