In a saner clime, that move in Diamond Bank should have earned him a sack from the Board. But this is Nigeria and anything goes.

Meanwhile, the tier 2 banks are not finding it easy this period. They heralded the bull the last time in 2018. What changed?

It's good to look at things from as much perspectives as possible.

So my question is Before the PFAs and other institutions bought into Access shares few weeks ago, don't you think they must have done their due diligence before investing?

I don't think we should throw the baby and the water together.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by maishai: 9:58pm On Jan 20, 2020
AS we approach earnings season lets recount some of last years Reggae blues

1.) FBNH disappointed by filling their annual report last as declared a paltry 0.25k after all said and done
2.) Fidelity mistakenly declared 0.22k to the joy of investors later to recall initial result and re-declared 0.11k as usual..... People para tire for nsempa.
3.) Access cut down their dividend significantly as a result of merger with Diamond while at the same time paying off Diamond Shareholders #1...... Lion hearts on this thread Benefitted both ways
4.) All were expecting UBA to shift post from their usual 0.65k final dividend, but trust Toni to always disappoint at the slightest opportunity ,he disappointed and paid the usual 0.65k...
5.) Asiwaju Zenith and cohort GT did their usual , we pray they do same this year increasing their final dividend but CBN has trimmed feathers
6.) UACN told us they have been in this game for long by dipping their hands into retained earnings and paying investors 0.65k, promising us that better days are ahead.........I love that this coy had the intentions of investors at heart, I await the days they will shift dividend goal post........

Access
- 2 weeks ago , price closed end of the week n10.80 (but touched weekly high 12 hence long wick above)
- last week closed at N10.80 ,a doji week
- if price closes below N10.80 at end of d week , a likely ''pull back'' expected to a support level !
- if it closes above no shaking
- asper trend: still bullish, price remains above both d 50-ema and 200ema

All of a sudden, they have started running Helter skelter.

Most of you urged newbies to keep buying Access when it was 12. And some other stocks. Most have fallen from the last high.

People don load up monkey. grin

kolaish:
MONKEY HUNTING

In Zimbabwe, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $20.00 each. The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at $20.00, and as supply started to diminish, the villagers reduced their effort.
He further announced that he would now buy at $30.00. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms.
The offer increased to $40.00 each and the supply of monkeys became so little that it took so much effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $100.00! However, since he had to go to Jo'burg on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf. In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers, "Look at all these monkeys in this big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at $80, and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $100.00 each." The villagers came together with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.
Then they never saw the man or his assistant, only monkeys everywhere! grin grin grin
Thanks for explaining it to them.

Let them continue to urge people to buy. If FPIs are net sellers and PFAs are on the sidelines, I wonder who will help sustain the bull.

That is why we have to be careful while investing in NSE.

Only buy when the price is very low(multi year low).

I will advise guys to sell there Access Bank shares, I sold half of my holdings last week. I will sell half of the remaining tomorrow.

The effects of Diamond Bank acquisition is affecting Access Bank. The closed period and board meeting was extended because they might be having issues with the auditors.

The timing of the sale by insiders is wrong
I thought you don't sell grin

So fear fit catch you?

Tomorrow, I will sell all but 5k shares.

It was speculated on another platform sometimes last week that the company might be having issues with the auditors
But we argued it here one time that diamond Bank was not fully incorporated in one of their quarterly financials.

That must be the only reason they postponed the closed period (to offload).
My friend, Jejebaba, had to connect the dots to me yesterday. Then I knew that people had bought monkey!

Thank God I issued a sell on stocks.

The next question is , where are the other volumes in other Banks coming from? Why are FPI selling?

If you buy with Naira and they buy with dollar, they have 360 times your buying power! grin

The same guy issued a statement to investing community on NSE that they are not buying diamond Bank. Whereas they were mopping on the floor.

Later they issued another statement that they have bought Diamond bank. grin

I have only 13k units left. I sold most during the recent bull. I was just trying to understand your perspective not arguing Sir.

I hope this info will not lead to panic sell tomorrow.
Then you should not bother yourself.

The info was out since. Last week sef it was trending. So what happened that you didn't hear.
