Good day house,

Thank you all for the good job you are all doing here.
I would like to seek your advice on my case. I am 28yrs old

I have once applied to Angloquine College around 2017 but i was denied study visa.

I am planning to reaply again but for MA Economics program because I studied Economics in my Undergraduate, and I noticed most Canadian Universities (if not all) will not accept any cgpa less than 3.8 above but I graduated with 3.65 which I think it’s too small to gain admission. I will like to seek advice from the everyone here base your knowledge. What are my chances of getting admitted and also, the school I can apply to that may offer me admission. I am willing to take the risk.

Hey guys i just got admission to manitoba for my masters, currently in the process of applying for visa.

So my dad is going to give me a loan of 10m from his company.

1)Pls, should he pay it into my account or not yet

2) what documents do i need to submit in regards to this loan?

Also i am a little confuse, is study visa different from the main visa? In other words, do i apply for study visa first, then get another visa before i travel?

Thanks guys

Good morning house,
I just gained admission into one of the colleges in Canada. I have a senior brother in Canada ( he is already working ) I want to ask if it is possible to put he name as my sponsor. If yes pls what are the requirement for him to meet.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 11:56am On Feb 03, 2020
What do you mean your Father will LOAN you again?

why can;t he just Sponsor You, ..

Get him to Credit Your account with the 10M, explain it in your SOP, you don't even need plenty documents.(as long as the names Tally, *surname*

Straight up!

N.B..... I think the main Hurdle about securing a VISA is trying to write convincingly about your CHOICE of program, and HOW it is relevant, I THINK!

With a CGPA like that and the fact that you are a graduate, it’s only ideal to the VO that is a masters program you would intend to pursue. However, since you want to change your course, how many years experience have you in that new field? It’s not impossible but you have a lot to do. You have to really convince the VO that you are a bonafide student.

Hello Blema111,

Been a while and good to see you are back. How far with your app?

Hello everyone, please I want to ask a question from the open as I am currently in the process of putting my apps together.

I have been employed for about two years, since the completion of my nysc. Now, I'm gathering documents together for my Visa application.

Please, I want to enquire, do I need to get STUDY LEAVE from my employer.
I want to ask about the necessity of having a study leave from my employer.

Do I need my employer to write that they will give me job after my studies, bearing in mind that I have about 2years work experience with the company.

I want everyone that has related experience or have similar work experience, who have been successful with their visa to please contribute.

Do I need STUDY LEAVE
Do I need the STUDY LEAVE to say that I will have a job on return?

What do I need from my employer, specifically, please!

Hello Zeb04,

In general context regarding your application, I don't think your financial narrative should be based on loan. The storyline should simply focus on how much your father is committing into your studies maybe for a year, to be the 10m.

In building a storyline for your application, some things like sponsor's (your age,) employment/source of funds, establishment etc shouldn't be neglected and every loopholes covered with good and convincing explanation in your letter and his.

Since, the funds is readily available, first check the refund policy of the school and if its suitable, then you can make the first year payment of your tuition fees (not a guarantee for visa approval but still it proves a point in one way or the other) and have the remaining balance from the 10m paid into your account as your LE which amounts $10k.

The study visa is issued and appended tp tour PP at the VAC which allows you to travel/board a plane whilst the study permit is issued at the POE upon arriving Canada. When applying, both are/can be used interchangeably.

You should not approach the narrative as a loan but a parent sponsorship commitment.

All the best.

Hello Nelmc,

It gives you an edge to meet the academic requiremnets of so many schools but not neccesaarily a guarantee for an admission. Other areas like:

1. The discretion of the graduate committed
2. Strong reference letters
3. A good letter of intent
5. Being ablebto secure a supervisor (if applicable)

...are also considered.

All the best.

Hello Ifesinachi22,

There is no Transcript for Canada study visa unlike the German embassy.

Hello everyone,

Am a silent reader on this thread, currently applied and received admission offer letter from Nova Scotia Community College ( PDG). Human Resource.

Need guidance as regards a few things:

In my early thirties- studied french, 5 years work experience, 2 in nigeria( administration), 3 in Asia( Admin& HR).

It is okay if i present myself as the only sponspor. My parents are retired. Balance roughly 11M.

@Frankrobbn1 and others in house. Open to receiving opinions.

If you need me to provide more information, i will.

Hello Derby33,

Its okay to go on as a self sponsorship. However, if your tie to/economic establish in your home country is weak, look for a way to connect yourself to your parents (home ties) or any small investment.

All the best.

@Frankrobbn1 and others

Please can I obtain a letter of introduction from my HoD addressed to 'To whom it may concern' for a study permit application? I do not want to disclose my intentions to him prematurely.

Hello Canhopeful,

What do you need a letter of introduction for, is it for visa purpose? and/or does this letter states a future job role in the department?

If the letter isn't about securing a future position in the deparrment, the letter is not necessary same as the sworn affidavit of return.

If you still want to go ahead, It is best if a letter is addressed to a specific audience.

All the best.

You have to find a way to plug those loopholes to boost your chances. You most likely don't have issues with, purpose of visit and finance. But finance and personal asset, home ties* can be a serious let down. You need to start by showing good accountability of your activities right from your undergraduate Years followed by a way to shoe that you've been actively evolved in developing your self both intellectually and work experience.

Your dad is a principal sponsor he doesn't need to pay anything into your account. You just need his financial portfolio. Also you are applying for a study visa when you get to Canada at the port of entry you'll then be given a study permit with a conditional work Permit. Do make sure you read the permit given you because sometimes the immigration officer forgets to add the conditional work permit which can prove to be an issue. After that you can then proceed to any Canada immigration office to get your SIN( social identity number). A friend of mine here in Canada had the issue with the immigration officer not applying the work permit and he couldn't work for 4months it was hell for a guy that was del sponsoring.

Hi JustMellow,

I'm sorry for the incomplete information. Yes, the letter of introduction is for visa application. I gained admission with full funding into an MSc program at the University of British Columbia.

I am a university lecturer and would like to use the letter of introduction as proof of current employment status stating my job roles and salary/annum. But I do not want my HoD to know my plans until I secure a visa.

I will be due for a study leave in June this year but cannot wait till then.

If anyone say they can tell you the chances for visa application, that person must be Canadian PM lol.
But there are factors which can determine if you should have hope at all.
1. Finance: Tuition fees(pay if you have it), LE( make sure you have the $10k) should be available. Then you may even have extra.
2. Study gap: it somehow favors those with little or no study gap to get approved. Underline “somehow”, i mean it’s not guaranteed neither is it an offense.
3. Academic/Career progression: I am guessing you know what this means because it has been explained here several times.
4. Home ties: A good home tie depends on your age, family status, job or business owned.

So ask yourself these questions, answer them and score yourself sincerely. Then get all the necessary documents(real not fake), apply and pray hard.

Hello Bayoerubami,

In my own assessment, everything is wrong with this application and not properly arranged. On most frequent occasion, these VOs don't recognize a scholarship from sources that are not readily verifiable whether state or local government let alone an individual politician.

This is not a guarantee or saying that by doing this, your application will be successful which I wish for you. The first thing to do is request foe your gcms notes but if you feel you can tackle the generic reasons then the second step would be to do away with the scholarship initiative format and the sponsor.

Assuming you know the cost of your four years program plus LE, you would have understand the importance of showing commitment and using a reliable sponsorship i.e. parent/sibling/family sponsorship. In this Canada thingy, just a promissory letter and an empty letter of intent holds no weight.

This time, endeavour to include a detailed study plan to provide better clarity for both your intentions to study and how you have been able to address the concerns. You can as well decide to use the LOE to address the concerns.

Things to do:

1. Get a reliable sponsor

2. Show some commitment for your 1st year/semester and LE

3. Since you're still young, use your parents home ties to strongly and convincingly tie yourself well.

4. Include a study plan to address the areas that makes your application weak i.e. employment status/history, home ties etc

5. An LOE to address the generic refusal reasons (if applicable).

6. Embrace what you believe and stay hopeful

All the best.
