The lady feels you aren’t watching the TV so she’s asking the person watching, no offense imo

Bro.... owner or not.... it is common courtesy to ask the person watching for permission to change the channel. Did your neighbour ask permission to turn on the TV?...if not... that should be a problem. You've allowed a situation to get out of hand and just don't know how to pull the brakes. I suggest you switch it off... keep the remote...when asked.. let them know your TV need rest... and that will be the answer every day. Any other question... give them the eye... and tell them they need to leave.

First, don't pick offence because no offence yet. She was nurtured that way, because home training will speak for you in the strange places. If the man's reaction towards her in your jolly-jolly apartment is not pumpy or bossy, relax bro! It happens.

But.... Smelling faeces on the ground, flies comes. Sweet sugar on the ground, ants comes. Both insects are parasites!

As your life is going sweet now, parasites will creep in. Bro, no dull yourself! This is a sure evidence that you are a golden-hearted man of no principle because loving neighbours without principles or instruction is destructive. YOUR HEART IS SO WEAK! Devil hate mankind and better things, so expect the idiot-thief through persons around or living close.. Remember the popular NL slang "na from clap dance dey start."

Let them drop their techs and go. This is one of the tenancy rules of peace. Guarding your heart jealously is guarding your life and blessings. My on cent bro.

Lesson learnt!
You speak in many parables bro. Hahahaha. But thank you for your kind words. It is noted.

Lol. Thanks for your input. Deeply appreciated. You know say no one knows everything. So I had to hear from others before taking any decision on the matter. That's the only way to avoid mistakes. Lol

I don't think it's a big deal. They probably think you're not paying attention, and they are free to watch whatever they like. Hence the corper taking permission from someone who was actually watching it. It's nothing, let it go. Besides you made them feel at home by allowing them to bring their phone to charge and relax while at it. If you're actually watching TV, speakup next time.
Advice deeply appreciated. Thanks.

Bro, she's not supposed to ask 4 ur permission b4 switching channels since you aren't watching the TV. You said you are always busy with your laptop whenever they are watching.

It's out of Courtesy that she seeks 4 permission from your neighbour to change the channel since he's the one watching. Relax and ignore.

It doesn't change the fact that you own it. If you want her to take permission from you, as the owner, join them whenever they come to watch YOUR DSTV.
Advice taken bro. You see, no one knows it all, that's why I had to bring it here to get various inputs on the matter. That's the best way to avoid acting silly.

She doesn't take permission from me but from my neighbor
See this thing from this angle. You were not the one watching the TV, she knows you u r the owner of the property but she took permission from the guy because he is the one watching the TV. It is very rude and improper if she comes into ur apartment, take permission from you and changes the station (when a guy is there watching the tv). Normal thing is for her to come in, greet you, plug her phone, apparently permission from the person watching the TV and switch channel.
The TV In our house is bought by my dad, if my bro is watching a station, and I want to change it, will I take permission for my dad or from my bro?? Na my bro naw.

Of what essence is the permission when the television owner is engrossed with another activity? Brother you can justifiably pick offence when you're watching and she rather seeks the permission from a co guest instead you or she walks in & switch on your television but if you're not comfortable having them around, you can conveniently switch off your television when busy.
Respect bro

MasterRahl it is natural not to be happy when others don't acknowledge you for what own.

I think you should overlook this one.

Because it is disrespectful for the girl to ask you for permission to change the station when someone had already been there watching TV.

If she ask you for permission to change the station and you grant her, It means that the two of you see him as a hollow and worthless someone.

Hello fellow Nairalanders. How una dey do?
Okay, I have something to share and I sincerely need your opinion. Considering that this is Nairaland, I know say some people go wan bash me but no shaking. That's what makes Nairaland fun and interesting.

I live in an apartment somewhere in town. It is a massive building with roughly 28 apartments (mini flats).

Now, I'm a Kindle Publisher so I spend a lot of time on my system. And because of the nature of my work, I ensure that there is light in my apartment every time.

My neighbors (a guy and several females) like coming to my house to charge their phones. There's this particular girl (a corper who comes most nights to charge). There's also this particular guy (far older than me) who also comes to charge.

Anytime the guy comes, he'll charge and then settle down to watch DStv. This corper girl also comes to watch TV/charge her phone.

Here's the issue: anytime the lady comes in, she takes permission from the guy to switch channels. It makes me wonder

1. I an the owner of the apartment
2. I own the DStv and I use my money to subscribe it.

Why then does she make it a habit to obtain permission from another person before using it? I'm always on my system writing, but at least courtesy demands that she or any other person takes permission from me before using my property instead of obtaining permission from a fellow neighbor.

I haven't said anything to both of them. It has happened for several weeks and I've just been watching. I decided to table the issue here for suggestions.

One of the reasons why I refused to comment is because I don't want to be seen as an egotistic or proud person. They might say "he's doing guy for ordinary DStv" bla bla bla or he is immature and I don't wanna address the issue in the wrong way.

That's why I need your opinion guys. Should I just overlook it and continue with my life or do I address the issue? If yes, in what way?

Thanks
op apart from ur immaturity, you wanna fucckk the girl abi?
Just chill and talk to the babe.
According to you your work is always on ur system which means you don't have time for the DStv or choice station to watch.

The other neighbour who older than you do come in to watch ur DStv and sudden ur crush babe work in and u expect her to just pick a remote and change the stations other than what the senior bros was watching without excuse or permissions as u Called it. The babe is matured and intelligent while you on the other way round is immatured and stupid. Just becos of DStv you wanna go disgrace urself, if na say you wanna fucckk the babe go ahead and stop beating around the bush already the babe know say na u get the DStv.

Just ordinary DStv broda want to disgrace himself
Re: My Two Neighbors: Your Opinion On This Matter by ZAWs: 1:29am On Feb 06, 2020
Well maybe she does that since you aren't focusing on the TV.
It's very normal
So when next they come, try and sit with them and see whom she takes permission from this time.

Baba, I came to Nairaland to seek for advice. Are you saying I am stupid to come and seek your opinion on a matter? No one knows everything, so if something don pass ur level, na to come ask elders, and na wetin I do be that. Now u come dey say I'm stupid, and foolish. haba!

As for the fucking thing, bro, life is not all about fucking. We get work to do, we get destiny to achieve, we get school to go, we get house to build. So life is not all about fucking, I am not interested in fucking the damn girl. Besides, she's a Jehovah witness and very religious.

As long as they don't disturb you with the sound coming out from the TV, there's no point addressing an issue that doesn't exist. You no even suppose notice say she collect excuse from Big bros since you are too engrossed with your work.

Allow them watch their kaya, they are even helping u by not allowing your Dstv sub go to waste. The sub no go finish until month end. Let them watch as much as they like.

If you are publishing a novel on kindle use them as your prototype..take a 30 minute break to know what they learnt from whatever they are watching. This day I don't just watch movies I listen to the details of the conversations.

Op do they usually come in to meet you watching your prefered channel, or is the TV usually turned on upon their arrival to charge their phone? The girl might have sensed your lack of interest in watching the tv on each occasion she came since you're always busy working with your pc. If she doesn't usually pop in at the exact time the other guy does, you can politely confront her with the question; why do you always seek permission from that guy before switching channels, or does my being focused with work on the pc make me seem uninterested in any of the channels? She'll just code x
