Wow. Seems very stressful to me
blank:

There are different reasons to have multiple numbers. If you have those modems that you plug into your laptop to be able to browse, you need to register that number. If you have multiple of such modems, that's multiple numbers.

If you have a home phone/landline for the kids, it still needs a sim card to work.

Most people also have at least 2 numbers on different networks. An additional one may be a business line.

And on and on.

"The minister further directed the commission to ensure that the National Identity Number, NIN, becomes a prerequisite for Nigerians registering new SIM cards, while for foreigners, their passports and visas should be used.
According to him, the already registered SIM cards are to be updated with the NIN before December 1, 2020.""

Very good as after this the starvation meted on people will cease to be, there will be stoppage of victimisation of poor peoples children when it comes to government employments, fulani herdsmen will stop to slaughter none Fulani's and the sponsors of boko haram will come out publicly to confess their evil deeds. Leaving substance to chase shadows. Wicked sets of people.

Pls look at d points u listed& see how u have failed. Unfortunately, u are becoming sentimental. Who cares about where he comes from? What has that got to do with d discussion? No wonder u are supporting mediocrity.

U said he is working but out of d 4 points u made, its only one that is actionable work. Two others involve "he is looking at". With d second point, there's no result to show for his so called mandate he gave d telcos. D only thing he is interested in is SIM registration. Pls why is he not "looking at" that? How does disabling 9m SIM improve service quality?

Subscription charges for data has dropped. You now subscribe for 4.5gb or more with #2,000 in all the telcos.Do u really buy data?
On the sim issue, survey carried out two years back showed that 90% of the crime rate is being aided by voice calls. And most times, the Sims used haven't been registered and this is inimical to the smooth investigation by security agents. This is one of the reasons the ministry is looking at the sim dept.Did u not read about why America put a travel immigration ban on Nigeria?
Let's talk with facts.

I support Pantami on this.
What another great achievement by Buhari govt

If Nigerians start using only 3 Sim card
Security will increase.
There won't be Boko Haram, bandits, kidnapping, armed robbery nd herdsmen attack anymore.

There will be massive job opportunities that even foreigners will beg to come nd work in Nigeria

The rate of Naira exchange rin d market will be higher than dollars, pounce nd Euro.
This will automatically lead to fall in price of rice, cars, handsets nd all gud.
In fact Range Rover will be sold at #12,000

There will be good roads in d whole of Nigeria because all d roads will fix itself
There will be cheap houses that every young Nigerian at d age of 18 will own its own house.
There won't be army, police nd SARS intimidation.
Our hospitals will start functioning more than the ones in Dubai, Canada, London nd USA.
There will be free education
There will be no more election rigging.

Even Coronavirus will stop if Nigerians starts using 3 Sim cards.
Boko Haram will release all those they kidnap.

Please let's support this good idea from Pantami.
Me I will dispose all my sim cards, I will be reducing it to 2, please if u ar using more than 3 Sims destroy them nd keep only three

Emeka wake.up and go and wash the plates.

I think the ban on Nigeria by USA has started to generate result, having a database for the citizens of a country cannot be overemphasized. The federal government should find a way of synchronizing NIN, NIMC,TIN, BVN, VOTERS CARD into one for the effectiveness of the result they seek as well as making it easy for citizens .

But why e b say we go don collect b4 we get sense as a nation ..

This isn't connected to the ban pls. This is foolishness

this would have made sense of there is network over the country including the remote areas. if you go to some villages , you will be surprised to see that the network you use for your main line is not available.

therefore the need to switch temporary to the available network there.

Wetin u wan use 20 Sims do if not for criminality and proxy.
Getdhellout!!!
so after 3 the next number na 20? You support someone saying 3 sim cards max, and are asking about 20 sim cards. So having 4 sim cards is bad because someone with 20 is likely using it for crime? You well so?

Some people have up to 5 sim cards, for good reason. There are mifi options in different networks and they require sim cards. For those using the internet for business, you quickly realize that most ISPs aren't reliable and you need backup options.

The fact that you have no use for such services because you manage 100mb in a month doesn't mean others don't.

But if you read my reason below on NIN you will see that it all connects from communication to security

Bros, let's stop deceiving ourselves. We live in a country were d govt abandons its key responsibilities of providing 4d people, starts chasing trivialities & then d people celebrate it. D deriliction of duty by govt has become more rampant in this administration. For instance, d recent ban of okada/keke in Lagos. Like every previous ban in Lagos& other states, d reason has been "for security reasons" yet we still have security issues.

When d idea of NIN came up years ago, it was said that d objective was to improve development. That d creation of a national database will help govt become more efficient delivery of social services. Years after d commencement of NIN, how many times have u heard of govt talking about using NIN for d efficient delivery of social services? Instead d obsession has been "security" which they use to hide their original intent which is control, subjugation & d infliction of more suffering. Can u pls tell me what NIN has got to do with children writing JAMB? To collect passport, its NIN. Before, u say jack Robinson, to breathe oxygen in Nigeria, they will ask u to do NIN.

Am really surprised that u guys fall for all these abracadabra of d govt.

Pls dont take ur ignorance and love for mediocrity to a level of ridicle. Ur comment about 4.5G going for N2000 on "all networks" is laughable as u are like a naked person dancing in d market square but feeling on top of d world.

If u buy data 4.5G for N2000, does that mean that d price of data has dropped? How do u determine if d price of data has dropped? Don't u no that 4.5G going for N2000 is simply a data package? How u determine d price by asking how much u pay for every unit u use in browsing and how much are u able to do with ur data at any particular point in time. Have u also factored in d 7.5% VAT on d data u use? U sound so pedestrian in ur comment.

D question I asked which u failed to answer is how does chasing after unregistered SIMs improve service delivery? How does it ensure that u and all other GSM users have access to better services from their service providers?

I find it laughable that u are even bringing US into d discussion & boasting about facts when u haven't even provided an atom of fact in ur comment. What is d original objective of NIN? Was it established because of America? D fact that u mentioned it, further shows that d govt has failed and is on a wild goose chase.

Have u ever asked urself why d US didn't put a travel immigration ban on Mexico despite all its security and drug issues? Pls use ur education to think. That's why u got it in d first place

I used an average of 15gb monthly from my 5 utube accounts for uploads etc.Infact what I used on my Thuraya phone is in excess of $200 when I am at work.U have the right to use your keyboard and assume everyone buys a 100mb.
If you are using internet for business,it simply means you are an exception, and that means your carrier will enlist you as a prime customer to have multiple sims and this means you u need to get an approval from NCC to use multiple Sims.Have you even read the guidelines/act for sim registration?

Always know the guidelines and details of a law before engaging people blindly.

law? You ignorant soul, if there is already Nigerian law that stipulates getting approval to have multiple sim cards, why is there a recent proposal to have a limit (3).

'Your carrier would enlist you as a prime customer to have multiple sims'? So MTN, for example, would know who uses the internet to push code as a hobby and those who do it for payment? I hope you know you can choose to be silent instead of embarrassing yourself.

How does this your response even tie in with the folly of your mentioning 20 sim cards as the next number after the proposed maximum of 3?

15gb? Clap for yourself. Some of us use at least 3 times as much in months without heavy usage. No wonder you don't see any use for another sim card.
