This cannot provide solution to the problems they are trying to solve. Nigeria has no database of citizens and immigrants. Get database and any sim registration will be linked to your database number. Database will contain the names and identity of every Nigerian and every other person living in Nigerian. If you like register 10 SIM cards, all will display the same identity of yours. The network providers are doing their business, they wouldn't want anyone to hinder them.

Poor policy.
Many people need multiple sims due to poor network and business needs.
What Nigeria needs is a centralized database and not the multiple registrations being conducted
by banks, NIS, Telcos, Ministries, and others.

With such a central system, anyone not captured can be banned from owning a SIM until they are captured
but should be able to own an unlimited number of SIMs tied to their identity.

It does not even make any sense to have more than three sim cards.

Pls look at d points u listed& see how u have failed. Unfortunately, u are becoming sentimental. Who cares about where he comes from? What has that got to do with d discussion? No wonder u are supporting mediocrity.

U said he is working but out of d 4 points u made, its only one that is actionable work. Two others involve "he is looking at". With d second point, there's no result to show for his so called mandate he gave d telcos. D only thing he is interested in is SIM registration. Pls why is he not "looking at" that? How does disabling 9m SIM improve service quality?

Even as a business man, this is not even an excuse.
Nigerians should stop acting silly.
I know a sim card carrying nothing less than 150 contacts three sims should carry nothing less than 450 contacts except someone is just not ready ,how will they do it with over 450 contact with extra sims.

Atm machine get camera, wait make person collect your money with your misplaced atm card and see if you go get your bank to trace the culprit.

Having multiple or one sims has nothing to do with crime.
If a crime is committed via a mobile number, irrespective of how many sims the culprit has, you trace the sim that did the crime and find the address and photograph of the person that registered the actual sim. Its not like you take the persons name and photograph to go tracing the number that committed the offence.

You don't stop crime by limiting people to operate in a particular other.
I have had only one sim as my major call line since 2007, but have had to switch sims due to data needs.

You go to some area, you can't call with mtn, you visit your family in rural areas, airtel has no reception but glo does. At your work place, glo is bad for calls but 9mobile is usable.
To reduce crimes, you restrict yoursef to 3 sims while other business of your life goes unattended to. News next morning, herdsmen beheads a mother, boko haram kills 10 people, ipob declares war.... Sad how having one sim can't fix any of the above menace.

Nigeria's problem is not caused by the mases, rather these persons in power are the problem of the mases.

They can ban the use of foreign rice so local rice can sell, but will fly abroad for medical check up while leaving local hospitals to rot.
They want to confine the general public to 3 sim cards, but there isn't any limits to how many houses they can own, billions of currencies they can have, or private jets they can own.

If the mases where to set up a law that says "all public position holders and politicians in government offices should have not more than 3million in personal account, 3 houses and 3 cars" do you think that law would hold?

Nigerians are such pathetic people, to be honest, I believe Nigerians deserve every evil these heartless politicians and public ministers are dishing out to them.

If a Nigerian can actually support the subjection of the freedom to choose and buy of the masses, because a confused minister said its security related, then you all deserve suffering.

Boko haram are killing people, they don't need sim cards for that.
Bulhairy has refused to listen to plea, or begging of Nigerians, has single handedly brought everyone to a state of pain and arguish without using multiple sim cards.

But no, everyone shouldn't have more than 3 sim cards, seeing the only law that can be passed in the house of senate is the one that takes the freedom of Nigerians.

Anyone still thinks Nigeria is being ruled by a Nigerian?

3 is too much. Shady people

There are different reasons to have multiple numbers. If you have those modems that you plug into your laptop to be able to browse, you need to register that number. If you have multiple of such modems, that's multiple numbers.

If you have a home phone/landline for the kids, it still needs a sim card to work.

Most people also have at least 2 numbers on different networks. An additional one may be a business line.

And on and on.
