Please let him be more involved in house chores.
Not just laundry, cleaning the house and running small errands.

Happy Sunday my fellow nairalanders. Sure we all are cool?

Sorry to bother you all but I ve been worried since what transpired between myself and my son who will be 4yrs by June this year.

I was not able to go to church today due to the fact that I just came back from travel very late yesterday night.

So I was asleep when my wife and my two sons left for service. I woke up around some minutes after 12 noon and decided to wash some of the undies I wore during my journey.

As I was doing that,my wife and kids came back and my son rushed straight to my room shouting daddy daddy, when I answered from the bathroom and he came in and saw me washing, the question he asked me has been making me uncomfortable.

He said "Daddy, why are you washing? Are you a girl? Before he could finish that my wife walked in and said to him,Don't worry, very soon you will start washing your clothes by yourself but what got me more worried was his reply. He told my wife that he won't wash his cloths that it's girls that are supposed to be washing.
,
Honestly,I'm worried, will he out grow this mentality?

Lalasticlala,I need a wide coverage,please.

Am glad he voiced it out, if you don't handle him in a domestic way, he may grow up seeing girls are the ones to do house work not boys

But relax, is too early for you to panic

Once he clocks 4yrs, whenever he comes back from school, he must wash his undies pand and singlet or every Wednesday ne must was his pants and singlets for him and his brother

Then on Saturdays he will repeat same

He has to do it, he should start sweeping his own room, no matter how he sweeps it, let him pack it with packer and cone and show you

Then you go and inspect the room and show him corners he didn't sweep well then let him sweep it again

As you are starting this, get a cane and let him know you won't tolerate laziness from any of them

Meanwhile anytime you are washing, let him watch the way you rub your hands on clothe, even you can allow him to wash your boxer's as you wash but you will do the real washing

When he starts he would have been OK for gin to handle his own

But don't remind him of what he said he will understand that as being a punishment for him

Just engage him into washing stylishly

Such concern about wanting to change his mind shows a simp mentality. It IS the wife's chore. Tell him that he's right about that but a man can help out with the chores ONLY IF HE WANTS TO, while a man's real chore is about making money for the family.

Otherwise, your approach will empower his wife to make him wash her undies in future and he'll have you to thank for that.

This is how you dolts "unsimp" yourselves into uselessness
Your redpill brain cannot envisage that the 4 year old child would get married in the next 25 years at least
Do you really think that this women belong to the kitchen and men belong to the office crap you people are struggling to hold onto would exist in the next 10 years?
Take a look around you, is it only men that were affected by this keke and okada ban? Did you not see men and women protesting side by side (occupy Lagos protest)
Everybody should learn how to wash clothes, everybody should learn to make money. It is a necessary survival skill.
If a man washes his wife's panties, is is bad? No be him dey chop wetin pant dey cover?
It is men like you that look after their wives after childbirth, cook for them, clean them up , hold the baby while she sleeps, they dont have two heads
yet some of you are pushing an outdated narrative that makes you so useless to your partner that you cant boil water
That why why your wives make useless shakara and refuse to cook when they are angry cos they know you are uselessly useless in the kitchen.
Keep making yourselves irrelevant, Women are replacing you in the boardrooms, dildos are replacing you in the bedrooms

Our kids live in an indomie generation. Most of them are super smart. I posted a video made by one of my sons recently on YouTube and the likes i received were amazing. Nobody really teaches them those stuffs the say or do at times.

I think the onus is on you to let him know that he needs to help out too when it comes to chores, to assist his wife when he grows to that stage. Teach him too by making him do it while you watch. My sons started bathing themselves, washing their socks and brushing their teeth from age 4 and now, they are all grown to do chores. We used to supervise them at first. I wash all my boxers and singlets because I feel nobody else can wash them as clean as I want them to be especially my singles and boxers. At times, I wash my clothes too, though through the washing machine and I do call them to watch me do that. Now they can do all that by themselves.

It is not 'assistance' for a grown up man to do chores with his wife please. He is just doing what needs to be done.

Restrict your rants to your maga boyfriend who did not train you well, woman. Did you really think I am at all interested in what you have to say? What do you have on offer that a $100 sex doll cannot offer a cleaner and less smelly version of?

Nothing to worry about here. He’s still impressionable so it’s your duty to correct him.

As for Wondering about where he learned it from, kids learn things from everywhere around them not just the parents. I’ve had to correct my child on some opinions too that I’m sure she learned from her environment outside of the home.

Just keep at it. The important thing is to raise a kind, fair minded and compassionate human being. Everything else will sort itself out.

You asked where they learn things from.

I was at my buddy's house some years back and since the family and I was so good and I'm trusted they opened their family to me.

Bro, one day like that the day I chose to make it my last day visiting their family I got the shock of my life.

I was so shock and I'm having chills run down my spine remembering what happened.

My friends youngest sister around 4-5years of age straffed me erotically and intensely.

As she was making the movements, the shock froze me Cold. The moment I recovered the shock, I picked myself up ran out of the house and till today I never visit his house or go near him again. It's influence that causes such. I'm still on shock typing this

I swear all of una dey crase. You should be thanking God for giving you a smart son that reason like a real man. The day wife my will sit back and allow me to wash my undies by myself will be the end of the damn marriage. Quote me and be quarantined as coronavirus patient.

OP
I always thought women did all the cooking and house chores when I was a boy.

But all changed as I grew older.
By the time I got into university, I was a good cook.

No lady ever ate my food and remained the same, they all wanted more.

Life will definitely help him change that mentality. It's just a matter of time.

Just do all that is needed as a dad to help him grow responsibly.

thank you very much for saying this.
Your wife is blessed.
I think you and your wife should engage your son in some little house chores so that he would understand early that keeping the house is everyone’s responsibility boys and girls alike.

You should not be worried. You should be happy that he voiced that out to you. What you need to do now is not to argue with him, but to give him experiential re-education. Make sure you start washing more with him; give him a small bowl, throw his pant inside and give him soap and water, while you wash together with him. He will love it, but importantly he will gradually learn that each person (boy or girl) must have basic skills to take care of himself.
Don't limit it there, make sure you introduce him to all chores including cooking, cleaning and so on. Build him into a real man who is not just able to fend for his own, but can also take care of himself and his household.

If your wife/gf has a full time job like you as a man, then house chores belong to both of you as well.

After you and your wife have explained to him that doing the laundry is a chore both male and female should be able to do very well, make sure he sees you as many times as possible on your subsequent laundry sessions.

If you find your neighbours doing their laundry or spreading their clothes, show him. But very importantly, start getting him to take care of his own laundry... washing a handkerchief, his boxers/pants, etc. A child can always be re-psyched.
