I used to think like that when I was a very little boy. I remember that it was inculcated into me (though I don't know where and from whom) that men work to earn money and pay the bills and do tough works while women do chores and keep the house. There was man's work and women's. With time, I knew better and acted accordingly. Maybe your son is used to seeing your wife doing the chores and washing while you provide. Don't worry, with time he will understand. grin grin grin grin grin
.. I can agree with on the issue of my wife or the nanny doing more of the washing, but anytime I'm in town,I usually do my laundries by myself. But I will start engaging him more once he clocks 4.

You can engage him but don't over engage him. Just put your mind at rest. Even without engaging him, he will outgrow that mentality. Na small pickin dey worry am. All you need to do is ensure that he learns to discipline himself to embrace a hygienic lifestyle and self-sufficiency skills. Starting gradually, do this and hammer on it when he is about 9.
— Around 9, he must learn to consistently and properly brush his teeth morning and evening by himself without and failure shall incur hot lashes of cane.
— When he is 12, he can start learning to properly sweep and tidy the whole sitting room and his room from time to time. @12, I believe he is strong enough and he can start taking responsibility for the cleanliness of his clothes and he must wash them by himself.
— By 15-16, he should start learning how to cook certain foods and clear the dishes.
As he keeps growing, you know, as a man, the responsibilities to add to ensure he is disciplined in the areas of hygiene and self-sufficiency. The joy of teaching him all these and ensuring he does these consistently is that it will become his second nature to the extent that he will start doing these without being told.

If he doesn't learn, if he can't even wash his plates and clothes, and he makes it in life, a karishika can creep into his life playing "wife material" by doing these basic things. lipsrsealed

How Do I Make My 4years Old Son Understand Or S He Still Too Young

Happy Sunday my fellow Nairalanders. Sure we all are cool?

Sorry to bother you all but I have been worried since what transpired between myself and my son who will be 4yrs by June this year.

I was not able to go to church today due to the fact that I just came back from travel very late yesterday night.

So I was asleep when my wife and my two sons left for service. I woke up around some minutes after 12 noon and decided to wash some of the undies I wore during my journey.

As I was doing that, my wife and kids came back and my son rushed straight to my room shouting daddy daddy, when I answered from the bathroom and he came in and saw me washing, the question he asked me has been making me uncomfortable.

He said "Daddy, why are you washing? Are you a girl? Before he could finish that my wife walked in and said to him, Don't worry, very soon you will start washing your clothes by yourself but what got me more worried was his reply. He told my wife that he won't wash his cloths that it's girls that are supposed to be washing.

Honestly, I'm worried, will he out grow this mentality?

I need a wide coverage, please.
change it for him..when a child is born into this world,he/she come with a blank slate.it means empty brain(hard drive) just like a formated computer..as the child grows,he start copying everything around and have them saved in the hard drive(brain),this process is called conditioning. We have virtual, audio and some other conditioning.. And this are what later become a blueprint that guards the child throughout his/her life time.. The good thing is,you can change it..is not going to be easy anyway.

.....your son just told you the cardinal truth. His mother supposed to help you out. My question to the mother is how will she feel when her son washes his underwear while his wife or girl watches? How? You definitely have a man in your baby, and a weakling in the father....

Noting bad about his thought? Meaning you don’t check his home work from school. Even my daughters at age four they already know about it, that women wash and cook and clean the home while men provide the source of the cooking and all that. Check their English reader you will see when they said Simbi is cooking her mother is washing while her father is fetching the water and is also explained to them their position and roles they plan at home. So that is not a big deal. Like me I do tell my children as a God’s family we are all one. When you see dad or mum is tired of his or her daily work activities, it is your duty to assist her. In this case am assisting my wife. Make him understand the important of assisting your wife or partner when she is tired.

This is how you dolts "unsimp" yourselves into uselessness
Your redpill brain cannot envisage that the 4 year old child would get married in the next 25 years at least
Do you really think that this women belong to the kitchen and men belong to the office crap you people are struggling to hold onto would exist in the next 10 years?
Take a look around you, is it only men that were affected by this keke and okada ban? Did you not see men and women protesting side by side (occupy Lagos protest)
Everybody should learn how to wash clothes, everybody should learn to make money. It is a necessary survival skill.
If a man washes his wife's panties, is is bad? No be him dey chop wetin pant dey cover?
It is men like you that look after their wives after childbirth, cook for them, clean them up , hold the baby while she sleeps, they dont have two heads
yet some of you are pushing an outdated narrative that makes you so useless to your partner that you cant boil water
That why why your wives make useless shakara and refuse to cook when they are angry cos they know you are uselessly useless in the kitchen.
Keep making yourselves irrelevant, Women are replacing you in the boardrooms, dildos are replacing you in the bedrooms
Dont reinvent your selves please. Dont be a "simp". Mtcheeew

Don't mind the 21st century slave. Men like him are the ones that hold on to such toxic masculine mentality, because they want to keep consoling themselves that they are not useless. The kind of weak men that see their wife's success as a threat because they know without the "providing for the family" role they pride themselves in, they are useless.

Automatically, when he is of age he will wash is cloth himself when he sees no one to do it, by the time all his cloths are dirt non to wear out he will wash. Growing up i had mentality it is women that cook, my father did not even ask us to enter kitchen for once buh wen i entered Uni. was alone i learnt, infact i showed the interest till i know how to cook. so today if my gf is around she cook n if am alone i take care of myself. time will sort somethings. that boy is gonna be a real man unlike is dad, maybe he was also washing his wife bra & pant, mayb that is what d boy even saw.
And what is wrong with washing his wife's undies along with his? Not doing chores makes someone a real man? You seriously need to change your mindset and raise better kids. Chores are things everyone should do. You didn't need to go to the university before you learnt to do all that.

Don't mind the boring sexually frustrated git! Truth is Brazenbabe actually spends hours ranting on Nairaland because she unfortunately found herself in a long distance marriage where her husband went abroad thus abandoning her to a life of loneliness and sexual frustration.

I pity those who take her rants seriously - constantly repeating the same redundant lines that all e-feminists regurgitate when their little brains cannot conjur up a reasonable response.

Don't waste your time bro.

So I am married? Hehehehe
I thought I was the typical single frustrated E-feminist.

I feel you gave him that impression, he has not been seeing you wash or do other supposedly 'girls ' chores which he sees his mom do. He may also have learnt it from outside that certain roles are girls only like washing and cooking. But don't get so worried, thank God you have a sharp child and he got the right answer from his mom, with time let him start washing his pants and socks

a 4 year old is old enough to understand stuff. He asked his daddy, his mentor and hero, a question because he wanted you to answer. Instead of you to lovingly correct him immediately, you kept quiet and waited for your wife to save you. Now you are coming to ask Nairalanders JAMB questions. Mtscheeew.

That's how you people raise kids that feel entitled because of their gender.

SMH. These are the kind of husbands that wives refer to as useless when they don't have money. Your type will never marry an intelligent woman. And of the woman come by mistake get sense inside the marriage, wahala will burst out because she'd begin to see she doesn't need you for anything once she can provide her needs. Men, learn and don't transfer this weak mentality to your male children. The women are getting more empowered now and are standing up for themselves. The narrative in the nearest future would be men who can keep their wife and not women who can keep their husbands. The men being the breadwinner of the family that made them feel like gods is beginning to phase out. Empower yourself outside of having money so you'd be more relevant to your family.

Nothing to worry about here. He’s still impressionable so it’s your duty to correct him.

As for Wondering about where he learned it from, kids learn things from everywhere around them not just the parents. I’ve had to correct my child on some opinions too that I’m sure she learned from her environment outside of the home.

Just keep at it. The important thing is to raise a kind, fair minded and compassionate human being. Everything else will sort itself out.

I have been following your posts lately and I must say you show a lot of maturity and tact, even though lots of people say you are a feminist. Nice one
