I have been following your posts lately and I must say you show a lot of maturity and tact, even though lots of people say you are a feminist. Nice one

How a mother will feel when her son washes his own underwear? Your own mindset is the worst. I wonder where you were raised. I'm out of this thread.

.. Thanks bro,I will start engaging Him on such task. But is he not too young to understand? I don't want to rush him.
He is not too young to hold the impression that washing is an exclusive chore of a female being. He's obviously not too young to receive the correct information. The earlier, the better.
You've gotta identify the source of the information and cut it off.
Talk to other kids from his school if possible and see if it's from there.
Some unqualified teachers make unintentional statement in the presence of kids without knowing the effects.

So because a man “chops” what the pants cover means he should be slaves around it bah? If he washes her panties, what will she bee doing? They way you guys analyzes things cringes me to the core.

Actually they don't have two heads. Do you also realize that there are women who cooks for the family, take care of her husband, give him a nice Bleep and still is happy being a woman.
yet some of you are pushing an outdated narrative that makes you so useless to your partner that you cant boil water
That why why your wives make useless shakara and refuse to cook when they are angry cos they know you are uselessly useless in the kitchen.
Keep making yourselves irrelevant, Women are replacing you in the boardrooms, dildos are replacing you in the bedrooms
Dont reinvent your selves please. Dont be a "simp". Mtcheeew

There's always eatery and delivery services so why be egoistic at what you supposed to do as a wife?
No offence but are you educated?

You find washing pants of a lady as enslavement which should be eschewed but you don't have issues with a woman cooking, and cleaning for a man?

Excuse me too, why should a man, a fully grown man wash his wife's pants when nothing is wrong with her, even if she's sick?

This is how it starts, wash my pants, wash my pants and next thing the man starts washing all her clothes, what next, he loses his values. There are a million ways to express love to one's wife if which all does not devalue one as a man and washing of clothes is not one of them. Y'all women would not like roles to swapped like y'all get to provide for the family, yet y'all wants to be served and still provided and cared for. That's very low, but then I don't expect y'all to understand because principles and loyalty is very foreign towards your reasoning.

There is something risky about this. Doing the laundry is not reserved for any gender but this must not eclipse the role of husband and wife as helpers. If that boy is raised to believe that everyone by default does his laundry he will lose out on the connubial norm that spouses can get support from partners on any issue - including laundry. There are men today who are so fixated on doing their tasks themselves that they find it odd to accept assistance even when it is needed.

Let me ask u one question. What approach do u suggest for the young lad when he turns 14? Oh the mum or sis or househelp wil do his laundering for him? What abt when he turns 26 plus, probably fending for himself as a barchelor? Pls answer

If compelled by circumstance, of course he can do it on his own. I am not the one that is setting taboo boundaries. It is the op who is trying to make it seem as if there is something inherently evil about what the boy said when yhe boy us actually correct. You see, feminists have trained pussified men to be horrified at the idea that there might be specific gender roles; making them fight on their side so to speak. It is all about rabid feminism and control that's all. Or why do you think that no one complained about my equally 'sexist' statement that the man's role is financial support of the family? It is in my first comment; go look. Only my statement that taking care of the housework is women's work met with such venom.

Someone lost an intellectual argument to a 4 year old..

You are the child and he is the adult since you can not bring forward a simple proposition to show that he is wrong.

What as not washing or doing laundary got to do with been "heartless" the boy is right and it will be best you don't tell him he is wrong .. rather make him understand there will be time he will need to do things himself becos he is alone, cos a mum/alljobs/gurlfriend/wife will not alway be available

Sir, I will tell you what most parents lack is programming you don't only program computer but you children also

I went to get a job somewhere on getting there me and the woman was talking and her baby girl not more than 4years walk up to me, playing with me the next thing I see was her place her hand beside mine and call me shoe maker I told her I am not a shoemaker then her mum told her go and read your book... you might not understand this by I will open up to you

1) The girl was told shoemaker has dark body skin so if you don't want to be like them read your book

2) The rate, which she runs to her book surprised me just because the parents panted want they want her to be not other before they start correcting.

3] give examples and changing their mentality

4) Have time for 5hem as people outside have time to teach them

So learn ho2 to program you young ones am telling you it will surprise you where they will carry your teaching to. God bless your caring father.

And what is wrong with washing his wife's undies along with his? Not doing chores makes someone a real man? You seriously need to change your mindset and raise better kids. Chores are things everyone should do. You didn't need to go to the university before you learnt to do all that.

It is wrong becos you won't allow him do it publicly or where someone from the outside might see, "overtime i av learnt whatever you do or practice that you can't do openly is fully wrong".
Don't get me wrong, i dd not say a man should not do house chores, buh it must under certain condition, such as;
1.bachelorhood 2. wife sick or absent 3. romantic treat 4. voluntarily feel like it. asides all these there is no other reason.
Point of correction, raising a beta son as got nothing to do with house chores save that emotional talk 4 sissies ... av you seen any thread by a woman complaining her husband can't cook or know how to clean d house.

How Do I Make My 4years Old Son Understand Or S He Still Too Young

Happy Sunday my fellow Nairalanders. Sure we all are cool?

Sorry to bother you all but I have been worried since what transpired between myself and my son who will be 4yrs by June this year.

I was not able to go to church today due to the fact that I just came back from travel very late yesterday night.

So I was asleep when my wife and my two sons left for service. I woke up around some minutes after 12 noon and decided to wash some of the undies I wore during my journey.

As I was doing that, my wife and kids came back and my son rushed straight to my room shouting daddy daddy, when I answered from the bathroom and he came in and saw me washing, the question he asked me has been making me uncomfortable.

He said "Daddy, why are you washing? Are you a girl? Before he could finish that my wife walked in and said to him, Don't worry, very soon you will start washing your clothes by yourself but what got me more worried was his reply. He told my wife that he won't wash his cloths that it's girls that are supposed to be washing.

Honestly, I'm worried, will he out grow this mentality?

I need a wide coverage, please.

You have already shown him that male folks wash their stuffs. What remains is for you to tell him too.

It seems you over pamper them otherwise the question wouldn't arise.

Where was it said a man should wash his partner's pants?
don't answer my question with a question.

I dont have an issue with a man or woman washing their partners undies if they love each other, you are the one worked up by the thought of a man washing a lady's undies. I never claimed a man must wash his wife's pant, its a matter of choice. You are the one claiming a man or woman must act or behave in a certain way, which is indeed archaic.

You don't know me and what I will allow. According to your number 4, does any woman do chores by force or isn't it also voluntary? And about the last point, a lot of women complain about their husbands with this your kind of mindset that don't do chores. So nothing you've said holds water.
