It is not easy anywhere in the world. Here in a new country. You are just starting all over again. And on your own is the slang. |

My regret was not leaving Nigeria early.. I wasted my life in Nigeria without knowing that there are enough opportunities abroad.. Properties I could not acquire while I was in Nigeria I acquired them now... I'm still wondering if Nigerian leaders travel abroad and see how developed abroad is.. Good leaving over here.. 3 Likes |

sirhamilton: His types were brought up In "ABJECT POVERTY" So they would never understand what a SANE SOCIETY looks like and how It works. His types are the ones at the Corridors of power in Nigeria, Federal agencies, Dominates private sectors et all. They pack as much money as they can. Their lives revolves around Money, Money, Money with no quality life and peace of mind. As long as their own families are okay and there Is a lot of starched billions In the bank. The rest can go to Hell. I hope you see how the nation got to where It Is today. 1 Like |

DexterousOne: I wish I could have a one on one conversation with you sir. You are a realist and you deserve so much accolades. It's very easy to decipher between people with good moral and upbringing, people who has conscience but not perfect, people of high taste just to mention few, people of equity and our Agbero money miss road friend up there. That's If even he Is what he describe himself to be which I hold like a pinch of salt. 1 Like 1 Share |

bigfrancis21: ^^^ Fair points. But those damn laws exist for a reason. They exist (and are enforced) because your private actions have social costs. In rules based societies you will pay a significant price when your private actions have high social costs. In Nigeria unfortunately, that is not the case. In general, I do not pay any price in Nigeria when my private actions have high social costs. And that, sir/madam is why those rules-based societies are what they are - and Nigeria is what it is. That in a nutshell, explains the 'apparent' lack of freedom in these rules based societies. But these societies have mastered the concept and enforcement of a simple rule: My right or freedom to throw a punch ends where someone else's face begins. 4 Likes |

sowilli:You forget that most of these elites had a rosy start to life. What are the chances of a regular middle or low class born attaining these heights in this present Nigeria? It's slimmer! That's not to say wealth can't be made in Nigeria though. There are definitely less certainties in Nigeria, else how can you explain most people who migrated abroad legally having the funds in a few years to build quite substantial houses and business in Nigeria? It's definitely harder to succeed in a country that doesn't encourage meritocracy. 2 Likes |
Re: What Are Your Regrets For Leaving Nigeria? by sowilli: 11:00am On Feb 22, 2020 |
Elxandre:mindset is all that matters. Thing is many of the middle and lower class are always looking for low hanging fruits. They are the ones who are always looking for the sharp way. I tell you from experience. Who were the main victims of MMM people blamed it on poverty but did MMM not try to venture is other poor countries. What was the outcome in Kenya and some I can’t remember. You have a point that it is easier for the elites. I agree with you. But I have heard stories and worked for men that were nobody and became millionaires. It’s all about the mind. There are many abroad who are still hopeless and haven’t figured out what they want. |

lefulefu:yes. Building is an easy thing to start. It’s a project anyone can embark on. Now, it may take years to finish but it’s a project with no hard regulation. How easy do you think it is to secure a property in the US compared to Nigeria? |
