Hi, everyone. I wasn't sure where I should post this but this section seems like the best place.

Anyway, I needed your opinion on this matter. Today, on my way back from an errand, a car drove past me and the driver shouted from his car "I want to borrow your laps". My response reaction was too slow as I didn't even get a good look at the driver. Now that I think about it, I'm not certain what my response would have been tbh.

To help your judgement, I'd explain what I was wearing. A mid thigh gown that I supposed accentuated my legs. undecided

I'm not sure why I'm posting this here or what I want from you guys, except that this is the first time ever someone has made such comments to me. I'm repulsed and irked by this.

Has anyone ever encountered such? How did you react? How did you deal with it?

Now we know you have good legs. Even though we still need photo/video evidence. grin grin grin

That's by the way though. You should be happy anyways. And if truly you are "irked and repulsed" as you say, then you should stop wearing revealing outfits not because you don't have a right to, but because you can't stop people from passing comments - both positive and negative. Besides, we have never heard that a girl died from being covered up. Cheers!

As long as its NOT love, sister go and pray and be very security conscious.

Were you deaf? A fellow human is complementing you NOT in a manner for love or relationship BUT for your body parts like as though you are an OBJECT.....

Do you not know there are CANNIBALS in naija?
Do you not know there are ritualists here?
Do you not know there are people who know the price of body parts?

Such sentence is a DARK SPEECH.... and no one can come here to make it seem harmless, else they are suspects.

Those who do baby factories use certain words too that can be used to identify their motives.

SEE, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD BE VERY SECURITY CONSCIOUS, GO AND PRAY FERVENTLY AND WATCH HOW YOU DRESS.

Am not taking this too serious... it is overly serious and the way naija is now, everything should be triple checked with caution.

So you opened a whole thread just to let us know you were cat-called?
Is this attention seeking?
Every woman gets cat called. There is nothing special about this occurence that needs a thread.

That's like peeing and then creating a thread so Nairalanders can help you analyse the fact that you just peed.

Lol, IKR! I bet the same guy was yelling out the window to someone else, just seconds later. Many ladies would have their egos crushed if they knew that guys are, for the most part, just entertaining themselves when they say & do these things. It's meaningless talk on their part, while she's taking it personally, examining it & feeling like the bomb grin Construction guys are the worst at it.

It's like you're reading my mind. I swear, my first thoughts were like this guy sounds like a ritualist. Then I thought I was taking it too serious and decided he must be a pervert. But for the simple fact this particular thought process came up is why I brought it up here.

Thank you Sir. I will take your advice to heart.

On a normal, I don't dress like that. You'll hardly see me dress as such. But I thought since it was just an errand down the street, I didn't need to wear jeans in this hot weather. I even wore jacket to cover the top part of the sleeveless gown.

But you're right. I've learnt my lesson. I'll be more security conscious of how I dress.

I get that's your type and everything, but would you make that statement from a moving vehicle to a girl you see on the road?

Don't misunderstand me. I've had catcalls. I've heard guys mutter about wanting to smash that thing or date that girl, all sorts.

For this case, I'm surprised because I've never heard this line before and it made me worried that he may be a ritualist
Re: I Want To Borrow Your Laps. by Basenet: 9:34am On Feb 23, 2020
It is not that I am against "lap borrowing", it is just that I do not like to read about it on Sunday morning when I'm in my spirit mode, or maybe recruitment mode.

Talking about recruitment, a project management agency in Lagos is looking for a Digital Marketing Associate. If you have some digital marketing or social media experience, and speak and write the English Language to a very high standard, you might be the right fit.

Work from home or work from the office. Laidback environment; just get your work done and log off or go home.

If you think you have what it takes, I encourage you to fill out the application form contained in this link: https://forms.gle/TKVdGPqw1gJsJRPR9

You can choose to interprete my post however you choose, but I know what I'm talking about.

If someone has ever made a weird comment to you that you've never heard before or been told of, it may raise red flags. Perhaps some other girl has been told that before so it's a norm now. I haven't and it gave me concern. I suppose if it happens again then I can begin to ignore it and such.

But then again, I expected the female population to offer candid and helpful advice on this post. Thank you

I guess people's perspective of events will always differ. I get what you're saying and I brush off lewd comments and catcalls as much as possible.

It's the way he blurted it out :can I borrow your laps? that made this different.

You're right though. I am making a mountain out of a molehill

Lol, I do not think he's a ritualist. Nigerian ritualists don't need female thighs. I think the private parts are more sought after by them. grin

I am almost hundred percent certain that he is one of us that love beautiful thighs, it's just that his way of conveying his infatuation with your thighs was highly unconventional, uncivil and uncouth. I guess words failed him. Some guys are not just good with words. I wouldn't do that if I saw a lady with extremely gorgeous thighs walking along the road. I will at most ogle and move on.

BTW, are your thighs in any way similar to the ones below?

Thank you for clarifying that. I guess he was being uncivil and it was just a catcall. I've sha learnt my lesson.

Your question: no ooh. Local girl does not look like this. These ones are fresh.

Hmm, I know you're being modest here, but it's okay.

I don't think the sorta thighs that made a fully grown, seemingly sane man to scream out loud 'babe abeg borrow me your laps ehhh', is anything other than fresh, gorgeously-shaped thighs. wink

The local boy who made the statement is a rude boy who likes what he saw, speak before thinking and ran away before you could replied to his "compliment".
