And why do Maguzawa Hausas still practice the old ways of the Hausas? Was it not because they rejected the virus of Islam brought by Danfodio?

I wonder the rubbish you are explaining above.

Of course, Hausas will not abandon every aspect of their culture, cos not even the Pakistanis or Iranians or even Arabs completely abandoned their cultures for Islam. .... The only thing that unites all the groups mentioned above is that many of them have adopted Islam as their culture and find it very difficult to distinguish between their culture and religion.

So many Hausas will be ready to swear to you that Hijab is their culture. ... What foolishness could be more than this?

LMAO You said fulas practice their culture but hausas dont which is a bold face lie! Both ends of the extreme (nomadic fulanis and maguzawa) practice the old cultures. A northwestern classic hausa man today will relate easier to a northwestern fulani man in any city and vice versa. Maguzawas and herdsmen will find it very difficult to farternize with the north western man. The hausa - fulani tag though not an ethnicity on its own is an amalgamation of two concepts that any group which finds itself outside of the spectrum will find very hard to identify with. The urban hausas and fulanis have created a culture that transcends their ordinary selves.

Thank you very much. I vehemently agree with this.
Hausas & Northern minorities muslims deserve no pity or sympathy cos they don't even want it. ... If they are comfortable and happy with the fulanis in their midst, no problem.

Only the Hausa Christians of Katsina, Zaria & Kano deserve any sympathy, but even they themselves have never come out to speak.

it's either Hausa Christians or Hausa Muslims.
That his is line of thinking without any shame that he is clearly lying through his teeth.

Who did you give life?

All that you people have brought to we middlebelters and northern minorities is nothing but backwardness, terrorism, poverty, illiteracy...

Mention one good thing I dare you.

I thank God that most of us have left/are now leaving your backwardness unlike many years ago... Educationally we are catching up to the South unlike decades ago when we were at the same level with you people.

Your second paragraph was barbarian English. I don't speak that. You can meet your cousins of poverty and backwardness in Niger republic, they are the ones who speak that.
We didnt bring any of that on you, you brought it on yourselves. What did you lot achieve before the brits? you lot were savages running around in your birthday suits. We tried to give you everything, even executed a coup and gave one of you the keys. How did you repay us? by stabbing us in the back like the barbarians you are.

Catching up with the deluded plonkers in the south is something to brag about? LOL! They are nothing but educated illiterates and they like you will remain in our shadows for as long as we please because you are inferior to us, all of you. You always will be.

I dont understand how you guys be so dense. Culture is how a set of people express themselves. It doesn't matter where the hijab originated. It would be like claiming tea drinking isnt part of British culture because it came from China. Jiu Jitsu is not Brazilian cultural because the practice is asian in origin aswell.

Stop spreading lies. The phrase hausa christian is an oxymoron. These imposters do not speak or represent what we stand for. Fodio only finished what hausa kings like yaji and rumfa started. Hausas still are and remain prosperous. The two richest men in the north are hausas. Most prominent business men including two past presidents are of hausa descent. The most spoken indigenous african language is hausa. The largest ethnicity in the continent is hausa. See the holy union between hausas, fulanis and other muslim northern ethnicities has made the hausas infallible. You will die of jealousy and hatred.

So a handful of millionaires and billionaires amongst 90% of poverty stricken and illiterate people is prosperity? Are you sure you don't need to have your head checked?

That is the highest form of slavery of the masses to an elite few.

The most spoken indigenous African language is SWAHILI. It has official status in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Comoros, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo e.t.c
Where is Hausa regarded as an official language?

Besides, how does a large population of poor illiterates portends any good? There are hundreds of millions of Arabs in the world, but there are only several million Jews, yet the Arabs are inferior to the Jews who control the world.

Holy union of poverty, illiteracy, terrorism and backwardness. grin

Hausas are not free or wise enough to know what is good for them politcally cos first of all. The overwhelming majority of them are illiterates and hungry people who do what the fulani leaders tell them to do. Give the Hausa masses literacy and enlightenment and watch them send your asses back to Futa jallon!

Were Northern Christian minorities not in romance with the caliphate in the past? What changed?

Fulanis have infiltrated Hausa society beyond the traditional leaders, so the deposition of the traditional ruler won't change anything. Majority of Hausa elites, middle-class, scholars and Clergymen have been intermarried into fulani families.

Personally for me, I don't even care how poverty continues to ravage Hausa muslims.... Hausa Muslims and northern minority Muslims can perish with their Fulani leadership for all I care.
We just have to remind you people of your failures especially when you bring something like this here.

Very good point!

The story of inequality is uniformly the story of the country. Those two hausa men are richer than most ethnic groups combined.

LIES Hausa is the MOST SPOKEN indigenous african language, do your research. According to the spectator index hausa has 150 million speakers to swahilis 107 which given the demographic of hausa first and second language speakers sounds very accurate.

Stop moving the goal post, you claim we've lost our identity when on the contrary, we're the ones gulping up the identity of other ethnicities. A century of woes doesnt define us, we are blessed by God and we will rise again.

LMAO The only people who bear hausa names today are your people. Arent you ashamed? you left your names for that of hausas? oh right, you didnt really have a choice. Your people were actually slaves. Always have been, always will be.

Have you ever seen where a slave lives a better and is more progressive life than his master?

Have you ever seen where a master does manicure (Parchen Kafa) for his slave? See mugu.

If our people bear Hausa names, there is no shame in it because Hausa is a Chadic language (indigenous African language). Many middlebelt tribes are also of Chadic origins and speak Chadic languages (related to Hausa)...
It is far better we answer Chadic names than English names.

Besides, Hausa names have died among our people. People don't give it to their children anymore... Show me one person from my region who is a youth and has a Hausa first name.

As if there was anything like Christianity in the north before the colonial masters came bulldozing their way through.

Most clearly lack the objectivity to deal with the topic at hand.

Colonialism brought about education and enlightenment and enlightenment brought about a more civilized behavior.

Missionaries who would have come before colonialism would clearly have been killed or eaten.

Also, colonialism brought about roads to the hinterlands which the missionaries could not be able to navigate before that time.

Why was christianity in parts of the coastal South before colonialism?

Stop telling stupid lies. The British never forced christianity on Africans. It was Western missionaries from America, Canada & Europe that came to evangelize Africans who accepted christianity on their own freewill.

If for anything, the British colonialists even promoted and supported Islam in Northern Nigeria using the indirect rule system of government.

Yorubas were not conquered by Uthmān Dan Fodio but became Muslims through trading with the Malian merchants .

Shaykh Uthmān Dan Fodio (may Allāh have mercy on him) was indeed an enigma in West Africa that even you fore fathers will do anything to re enact his sweeping reforms he carried out in the northern sub region till date.

And his religious teachings and legacies are still there for all to see and still remain unmatched by the greatest of your fore fathers.

You shamelessly claimed he was a power monger who ran mad but he deliberately abdicated his throne to focus on being a scholar. Say what you want about him, his revolution was more than religious, it was a political movement that fought against injustice and the states were better off because of it akin to the french revolution.

...far worse than that. He wiped off their cultural identity.

Musa Muhammed
Abubakar Isa
Ibrahim Suleiman
Yunusa Mamman
Yussuf Abdullahi

These are names you see in Hausaland, their own indigeneous names are wiped out. Gone...forgotten forever!

They used to have masquerades and babalawos and aborishas, they are all killed off. Hausas have forgotten their drum beats and dance steps. Because fulani told them it is sin to play music and dance....they said Muhammed will be upset.

Meanwhile, fulani refuse to let go of its own ancestral tradition of cow herding. Fulani do sharo and have not cared wether it upsets Muhammed or not. But they told Hausa their cultural practice offends Muhammed.

They wiped out Hausa tradition and said it was offensive to Allah...but the munafikis continue to practice bestiality and Bleep cows and even swap women.

Now Hausas get on dance floor and move like Indians and Arabs....their African dance steps have left them....no rhythym, no flow....just rigid steps!

May Allah wipe fulani off the face of this earth for its multiple atrocities and hatred to mankind.
the only thing the fulani allowed the hausas to keep is their hausa language so that it will be used for communicating and uniting the whole north.
I learnt fulani hears and speaks hausa but hausas don't speak fulde abi na fulfude abi na fulbe.

You can imagine how they have conquered the hausas even though they are the majority in Kano yet all Kano govs and emir of kano are Fulani, take ilorin for instance, what is Fulani population there yet is only Fulani man that can occupy that position of emir of ilorin
I read differently here.
Also, the Hausa people who worked for me said they are bothHausa. El rufai is fulani.
Dangote is Hausa.
Hausa has very few elites.
Inter marriage among their elites are minimal as fulanis always look down on them.

Fulanis are offsprings of Arab/Berber soldiers from North Africa who enslaved and raped Black West African women. Fulanis themselves don't know their history. They are offsprings of rape. Maternally they are related to us Black West Africans, this is why they speak a West African language. However, their paternal seed is from people who have enslaved and keep on enslaving Black people till date (Arabs).

So they are still in West Africa to keep on with that legacy, but very soon their time will be up. This I can promise them.

Yes! Hausas would have just been like Yoruba muslims today had it been Danfodio had not destroyed them. They would have been very tolerant and still hold on to their traditional values, customs, masquerades and festivals the way Yoruba muslims do.

Anyway, just to let you know that Hausa culture is not completely lost/wiped off.
There are 2-4 million Hausa Christians/pagans who are mostly centred in the deep rural areas of Zaria, Katsina & Kano and these ones still manage to hold on to the ancestral Hausa culture, traditions, festivals and even the traditional religion .... Although it is heavily and largely fading away and on the verge of extinction. It may not survive the next 25 years.
