Gentry is seeing double..Of course when a player scores 40 and 34 in a 1 week span vs your team and you can't coach a lick of defense. It's not out of the norm to flail your hands and show helplessness

Giannis is averaging 30-14-6 with 1 block per game on a team on pace for 70 wins leading the league in PER, Defensive Rating and Defensive win shares

If he doesn't win MVP they might as well scrap the award. He should actually win DPOY as well

He's averaging that at less just over 30mins per game and playing all NBA level defense. He could win MVP and DPOY and it won't be wrong.

I love the lakers and LeBron but please that agenda of lebron winning MVP or being close should be thrashed.

The guy put up 40-20-5 in 35 minutes but they won't let this lebron agenda end.

I like lebron man, but his fan makes me sick

If Giannis were American or he played in say a New York or LA or Boston we will not even be having a debate.

How can someone averaging 30-14-6 in less than 35mins on a 52-8 team be unsure of winning MVP. Is that not madness?

Yesterday, Dorris Burke kind of resurrected the argument that the conversation about the MVP should still be open during the Lakers v Pelicans but like you guys, I vehemently disagree with her. This is because the gap between Giannis and others, not just LeBum is, in fact, a "gulf" in opinion.
Would Giannis be unanimous? No, I doubt all the voters will agree on that. Should he be unanimous? Again, that is subjective and for me, it is a very close no but will have absolutely no problem if he is declared unanimous.

So Doris Burke is real, I thought she was a game character on 2k. Lol
I think Giannis is a beast, his power and force of his dunks are on another level.
P.S- I love slam dunks

This is thanks to the fanboys on the ESPN and Fox sports Network. I'm sure this is what Giannis's team would also be considering when it's time to sign that Supermax

Because if Giannis played in a bigger market and was American there is no chance in hell this would even be a debate.

This man is averaging 30-14-6 on 55% shooting
Has the highest PER, Highest Defensive Rating, On pace for 70 wins, Highest +/-, Defensive win shares etc

Roles reversed and there would not be a debate. Why is there a debate now?

Her nickname is DB and she is perhaps the GOAT female NBA broadcaster! She has sound knowledge of the game and good at analyzing individual plays but she also falls prey into the hype of elitist players.

I don't think there has been any serious debate until recently and that has everything to do with the mainstream media pushing the agenda to ensure Giannis does not go unanimous. Giannis separated himself from the others before the All-Star games and has continued to build on that gulf.
I agree with the small market ish and I know Giannis's team are thinking of that but again, over the years we have heard Giannis say he is not interested in being friends/ playing with superstars, instead he wants to compete against them. I do know the Warriors will take a shot at his free agency.
I have said this earlier in the season and I will reiterate, Lebum can not afford to approach the postseason deferring offense by stat-padding his assist numbers like he is doing right now. At 35, he is playing heavy minutes, it would be interesting to see how he adjusts to playing Western Conference playoff games which are typically more intense than anything he has experienced in the Eastern Conference, including the early rounds.

The award is for MVP and not best player, kai. Shebi na for this same league wey Steve Nash win MVP with 18ppg and 13apg.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:31am On Mar 03, 2020
You mean somebody here actually said LeBron statpads his assists numbers? Wow. That's the height of ignorance and hatred for this man. It's hard to convince these sort of people that LeBron has a case for MVP. I'm done arguing.

First they said LeBron wouldn't do well in the West because the West is stronger. Now he's doing so well they're now saying crap like "it'll be interesting to see how LeBron would adapt to playing in the playoffs in the West." Lol, just listen to this bullcrap.

I wouldn't mind a 7 game series in the first round. And another 7 vs Kawhi in the second round grin

The voters should not rob Giannis of his MVP is all I know.

AD leads the team in all categories except assists. Giannis's team has the better record and he leads Milwaukee in all stats except blocks

The arguement I keep hearing for Lebron is that the Lakers are not a playoff team without Him whilst the Bucks are still a 6/7 seed without Giannis.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 9:41pm On Mar 03, 2020
Lool you go fear propaganda nau. If we did same for Nikola Jokic I'm sure we will get similar results. Doesn't mean Jokic is MVP same way Bron is not MVP.

Highest +/-
Highest Defensive Rating
Highest PER

Giannis should not be punished because he has a coach that did not make his system over reliant on one player

It's a nonsense argument. They were not a playoff team even with him last year and that's why they added Anthony Davis. All I am seeing is a team over reliant on him and that's how most of his teams were built aside the Heatles

Using that logic he should not have won MVP in 2013 and 2014 because you can't with a straight face tell me a healthy Bosh and Wade led team don't make the playoffs

The embolden has to be the biggest joke if that is their argument because it is absolutely false. They are not contenders for the championship without Bron, but they are certainly a playoff team without him.

Let me remind you again that the Lakers with Bron playing alongside a younger rotation did not make the playoffs last season. The Pelicans are 3 games away from the 8th spot and they are fielding the bulk of the same players Bron rejected last season. So what are we talking about here? How about the Grizzlies? So how is it possible that the Lakers with AD and others can not make the playoffs without Bron.

Championship contenders? Yes but playoffs? Come on na!

To be fair they were until He had that injury. AD is one of the Main reasons you can't give Bron the award same way Curry and KD had no shot at winning the Award during their time at the Warriors.

The Lakers heavy reliance on Bron worries me come the playoffs. I don't think it's sustainable tbh.

Ohhh I do agree with your first paragraph, it's just a point of view I see gathering steam as days go by.

As I told A40, that's a bit unfair. Bron missed a chunk of the season due to injury which affected the Lakers seedings. They were 4th I think before He went down. With regards to the players that got traded, this is not the first and certainly won't be the last time players have taken giant strides in the offseason. This is one of these said cases.

How?? The season was barely 20 games in. They were like 2 games ahead of the 10th seed. 2! Why are people acting like they were a sure-fire playoff squad?

AD has been reduced to a complete non factor despite being the difference maker on defense. They couldn't stop a nosebleed last year and suddenly this year they are a top 5 defense

What the Lakers have is a system that over relies on Bron. This same George Hill was in Cleveland and looked like a G-LEAGUE player and now people are asking where was this George Hill? Jordan Clarkson at Utah is doing same thing. When your system is not over reliant on one player and scorers are not reduced to spot up shooters, you get a little more performance from them

Abeg someone help me count the categories Giannis leads the league in. Whose fault that Frank Vogel cannot run an NBA level offense when Bron sits. Does Nick Nurse have two heads?
