Dreams are the reason we don't miss abroad too much... For everyone who is believing God for a Visa will get it in Jesus name...

Most people commenting here have not been to abroad by their comments. You must be tensed in your first move. Entering the plane and imagining where you’re going and what will happen to you. The plane take off. Balancing and landing is a not too good experience though. Some puke. Some cry and some pretend as if they’ve been flying. Trust naija. I was scared in my first travel to Jamaica. Then to the states. Luxembourg and France. They have a different system of doing things. U mess up you collect. Naija is the freeest country on earth. I swear.

That's another way of saying NIgeria is a lawless country.

That thing made me depressed. Nigeria is not backward — we are the word before backward. What is it? Ape-ward. Other African countries may be backward, but we're not qualified to be backward — that is way too advanced for us; we are an ape-ward nation.

... And some people are proudly answering the president of the nation without shame.

Sad! I remember seeing the streets of London for the first time as a teenager and tears rolled down my eyes, I knew deep down that my country is light years away from 'real' development..... sad

You need to do some e-travels at least you will not meet the 'HIV people". Just take time and explore cultures, people and anything that fascinate you via internet.

It was exciting really. Before I boarded, some immigration officers wanted to play smart, thank God, I had all my docs with me. After entering the plane, I couldn't locate my seat, lol. I later did sha. When I arrived at my destination (a country in Europe), I was flabbergasted by the high number of white people around me. Shuo, no be small thing oh. The place was cold, beautiful and colorful all at the same time. It was like a dream. Totally different from Naija. But now I don't notice the difference anymore.
Exactly as it seems "dream". I've not travelled out before not even to another state in Nigeria asides Ibadan. But I know one day sha... "Obodo Oyinbo" will become norms for me. I'm always happy seeing guys flew out of this country. God'll help us and I keep on trusting the process. P.S- I'm grateful to Nairaland for what I've gained on this forum as a content writer. I can't wait to meet Seun and 'em laslasticlala.

The first thing you will experience and feel is a sudden peace of mind, calmness and shock of the orderliness, purity of air/water (blue), and cleanliness of the environment and of course the beauty of the infrastructure around......I didn't experience cold because I traveled during summer, but later when the winter came, I almost lost my life because I am a warm-blooded human, I don't fancy cold much......the cold was out of this world......I bled from the nose for 4 nights straight, it was like one village demon was using ice block to suck on my nose to empty my nostril, and I was like, so finally my village people followed me here shocked shocked

The way white people, even most Asian countries developed their countries; some places are tiled like inside Buhari's bedroom, I mean street oh, and you will be wondering why black African leaders cannot pave our roads with ordinary korota or even cemented German floor, honestly it hurts to be born a black African, nature no try at all angry angry

Sth really went wrong in Africa bc this african setting is not ordinary.

....though far & wide, there's a lot of differences. The freshness, the cleaning enviroment, the way their people are organised and how their system works without their government interfering is lesson enough for us especially our leaders (e.g Senator Dino) to learn from.
.....but still, "ibi ori d'ani si l'angbe". No matter how long I'm out there. My heart is always here.

Truly Nigerian.

The first time I travelled abroad was the first time I entered an aeroplane. I had thought I had phobia for height but I did not recorn that the news of plane crash at that time was what made me to be scared of entering an aeroplane.
When I got to MMIA, I went through the boarding search but unknown to me, I was not supposed to board with my cream and perfume rather I was to check them in. So the custom officers at the check point told me that I cant go in with my perfume and cream, so i had to drop them. This made me to be so unhappy for a while but the delicacies helped in assuaging the anger.
We left Lagos at night, you need to see the blackout in Lagos, everywhere was black. It was sad to know that your country was in such state but leave Frankfurt, London or even Journesburg at night, you will see lighting everywhere.
Abroad is awesome especially the developed countries.

Longer days and shorter Nights.

This statement never made sense till I saw British summer.

I thought I had seen it all, I thought I was smart

Nothing prepared me for the shock of seeing daylight from 4:AM Till 10:PM
