Hate it or love it, the South-west has sent a clear message to the entire country. It may not be the most sophisticated of processes, but what the Yorubas have done to defend their territorial integrity is commendable. Since the police has failed already... No other option.

In a country with political oppression like Nigeria, they managed to equip amotekun with state of the art vehicles and give them basic arms... Maybe we should all keep beating our chest and insulting others like one popular tribe that we all know undecided

Let me see the Fulani herdsman that will come and slaughter or rape someone in the forest now. If any northerner complains, then we start our own Yorubafra. That's when all of you will know there is no unity beggar anywhere. Once Yorubas decide to go, Nigeria will seize to exist as a federation.

We are all tired of any unity that doesn't bring progress. Even Hausas are changing their Almajiri nonsense... Guess everyone is now smelling the proverbial coffee.

This is actually a lot BS. Regional security arrangements are illegal and sub optimal. At the state level, yes there could be a measure of legality in it. However the context is too complex for states and regional outfits to be relevant.
There is no money to fight this at a sub national level.
We are seeing forced displacementsof Fulanis due to climate change, attacks by farmers all over west africa and pressure by ISWAP/Jihadists.
Neither western nor Eastern Nigeria are capable of containing the sheer numbers of herders militia if the FG opens borders for instance.
If you think Nigeria's regions have the money to contain them you are dreaming. The people we are talking about are not a conventional military force. They are highly adaptable, guerrillas hiding in the forests.

People should control their emotions and tribal mob mentality and look at this as a strategic security problem to be solved.

Yeah right! What Igbo man saw long time ago. You meant what Azikwe saw by abolishing the sessesion clause from our constitution despite protest from Chief Awolowo or what Ironsi saw by abolishing the regional government?
Those two actions sealed your faith and your destiny in this nation. As much as you felt that you deserve an apology from the Afonjas, they also deserve an apology from you guys for destroying the regional government architecture that was working so fine back then. As much as you lost over 2 million of your kinsmen to the self- serving war, the so called Afonjas have lost millions of their kinsmen to poverty, bad governance, poor infrastructure, bad road, unemployment, diseases- all as a result of replacing the regiinal system that worked perfectly with this system you and your tribe now demonize. Your nationalist Zik couldnt see this coming. Imagine what Afonja land will look like today if the regional system is still in place. The leaders and rulers of those places aren't ready to help themselves. And the People aren't left out.
You cannot continue to behave and act funny and still expect your environment to be nice and solid, you must be ready to do the needful.

Nigeria being One is not a must.
When we get there, everyone will have to bear his or her fathers name. After all some people have refuses to grow because of greed, stupidity, and the useless politics they play with everything, including the life of their people.

Nigeria can only be one if we have progressive unity of purpose. Not the nonsense we do currently.

Do the uniforms on Police, soldiers, civil defense prevent bullet penetration into their body? If it doesn't, your attention should not be on the Amotekun uniforms but what lies beneath. These guys are not going to fight only physical with those charms on display! So, if all you wanna do is mock, keep mocking while the terrorists approach your village in Nnewi. Best of luck to you.

Those we need to get out...

First, who are the we? Are you Yoruba now?

Second, you need to understand that Yorubas don't need the Igbo to get out of Nigeria. The Igbo will tell you that they can't make Yorubas their allies because they are "backstabbers". Which is fine because Yorubas haven't said anything about forming allies across the Niger in any way.

Third, does that post of mine sound like I'm antagonizing the Igbos? You Igbo always think criticism of your inept governors or even your people is an insult. You think you are perfect, so there's no room for improvement. Read that post of mine again with a fresh mind. My concern is the Igbo people not dying like Benue people are being killed like children without parents.

Chest beating about who saw what first doesn't arise here.

Fourth, Enugu established forest guards and you think that's the equivalent of the Amotekun wave sweeping the whole of Yorubaland?

Really?

When Fulani herdsmen start killing in Anambra, shebi those forest guards from Enugu will rush to Anambra to protect them, or maybe the Anambra residents will run to Enugu for safety.

But, if you say that's your strategy in Igboland, well, who am I to complain?

This may seem like a new moniker but I have engaged you quite some in the past years where you be shown you are decidedly Igbo and how much you despise Yorubas.

Indeed. Anyone who thinks Tinubu is not supportive of Amotekun or has not been involved in brainstorming its conception is a big fool. Because the man is silent and plays wise politics at the national and international level, which requires one abstaining from appearing a 'local champion', he is the favourite 'culprit' of Igbos and unintelligent Yorubas who never see beyond the surface. The sort of myopic people who prefer the forked tongues of the Kanu's, FFK's and Fayose's of the world who are all noise yet total empty barrels, scammers, political jobbers and deceptive elements.

Those who have deeper understanding and knowledge of Nigerian politics understand what Tinubu is about. He is a very committed fighter for what is best for the Yorubas. Anyone old enough will remember how Tinubu fought doggedly to oust the toxic OBJ-led PDP from the SW over many gruelling elections and court battles. Also, anyone who understands that what is best for any region invariably involves being close to the FG centre will understand the approach of Tinubu who is determined to succeed where Awolowo failed by avoiding the mistake of the Yoruba sage.

Awo was resisted myopically by even his own, like Obasanjo, because of the fear of the powers-that-be over his 'ethnic jingoist' persona. Igbos who enjoy fighting and insulting everyone to a standstill are where today exactly? No Party would even dare give them a Presidential ticket today for fear of embarrassing loss at the polls and what the Igbo man will use the Presidency for due to his non-stop noise of secession and revelations about how he hates other Nigerians and can't wait to get away from them.

If not that some people have no reverse gear and nil capacity for seeing the big picture they would, by now, have discerned that Nigeria would probably be very advanced, secure and progressive today if all regions had a Tinubu working together with other Tinubus.
