Many don't have the mental capacity to objectively talk about appearance. They literally call one of their own people pretty/handsome because the person bleached the heck out of their skin and is shaped like a 10 year old boy. If one of their own people is tanned/brown and physically fit and healthy, many will consider the person ugly. A "hot" Asian girl in North America, South America, or Europe is considered ugly and incredibly fat in China.
