Another noteworthy experience in the analogue era is exactly the scenario you painted although in this case i placed order about 2 days before qualification date and broker said he bought. About a year later when i went to Registrars for unclaimed dividend they said i had none. I went back to broker and saw from my statement that they didn't buy till weeks later. Infact money i had given the so called staff didn't get into my account till the day they bought. I knew the guy had played a fast one and collected my dividend from him with threat to report to his bosses.

Many here can guess the broker. They have been mentioned here in last few days.

Goodmorning house,
Pls I need clarification on this. If Ucap close today at N3 and on Monday the ref price is N2.50k meaning it's been marked down. If I sell same day(monday), will I still be paid dividend?

Many thanks in advance

You can't get dividend if you buy on Monday, if you are interested in dividend you have about 2 hours to buy

For newbies and the cap preservation gang, you can buy Lawunion if you wish to.
Your capital plus some change on top is guaranteed. grin
It's currently selling at N1.01 and the new investor is paying N1.23kobo. Try and see if you can get below N1 but up to 1.05 is not that bad too.
Cardinal Stone is their registrar. Once you buy start processing you e-dividend right away.

Thanks, I already have the stock. My question is if I sell same day price is marked down. Will I still qualify for dividend?

Which one is that?
Anyway, this one can't be like that. It's going to be like the Continsure and still better pass in terms of timeframe......so I believe.
Seems Pa Emma even said they MIGHT still review the offer price up. If done that will be a bonus to shareholders.

Payment is a still long way off o. Shareholders first to have approve in AGM to hold in 90 days or thereabouts. Give another 45 to 90 days for all the approval from SEC, NSE and court ordered meeting (if applicable).
