it has not yet started,
it was only announced but it is a good one but bad for people that like to use uncle, brother , company , inlaw or aunty as sponsor

It’s a pilot initiative

Have you gotten admission into your proposed program of study?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Evabanks: 9:41am On Mar 10, 2020
goldbergg:

I feel you. No one thing is no Canadian university accept 2.2 for any course. So this is no exception for law graduates. Another issue with canadian schools offering llm is that, they are very few offering law generally. They have about 15 or thereabout, which makes the competition tight for limited slot. So other than having a 2.1 you must be very qualified to be offered admission.
Dont bother looking for a low ranking school for llm. Once you dont have 2.1, there is no point
Unless you going for another course of study entirely.

At the same time university is still a no no for masters if you finished with 2.2

Read through the thread i guess to see where you fit

Thank you

Priceless200:

Nawa o. Really?

So what's the fate of 2.2 graduates who wants to study in Canada. There has to be a way.

i had a 2:2 and i got admission into two universities in Canada while changing programs from what i studied in my undergrad. schools normally request for a certain percentage in GPA in your final two years of your undergraduate program. relevant work experience and packaging your application matters too.

Are you equally a lawyer? Law is really from other professions. It’s not that easy. I’m not denying the possibility of getting an admission, just saying it’s an herculean task.

No I'm not, i studied international studies and diplomacy in my undergrad. i know Law is really competitive because there are few options, i was just addressing the part where goldbergg said schools don't accept 2:2 graduates. There are always exceptions.

Hello guys, I was asked to upload a replacement documents of IMM1294 before 10/03/2020. It was tagged "Replacement Required". I have done that and it's now showing Replacement provided. I believe God is on my case.
It will end in praise.

Good morning, I’m really sorry if this question has been answered before. But I want to know during medicals, Pls what kind of test is being done? Is pregnancy test included? If yes, could it be a barrier even when you can afford to pay your bills.

Thank you

Yes I believe there's a delay in passport stamping these days cos I submitted mine since Feb 10th and no update. So believe it's a general issue and not specific.

We have just received refusal letter. Reasons are based on family ties in Canada and Nigeria, personal assets and financial status, employment prospects in home country.

We are both employed and pensionable,
We do have personal assets and even managing family assets
Family ties in home country is well established too.

What's to be done guys?
Lekan45:
Hey guys, great job being done with the information shared. It helps a great deal.

I had hoped that I'd share a positive outcome for our application but things didn't go as anticipated.

My wife got a scholarship by a government official with comprehensive details of the funding.

She applied for a PGD in business management, she studied accounting and education. Admission secured, letter of acceptance uploaded. First semester tuition was even paid.

We have a daughter. Less than 4 years.

I have in my account 1.6m and a cash inflow of 1.9m in 3+ months.

We both work for a state government and I have sufficient ties.

I submitted close to 8 different documents displaying my ties to my home community ranging from employment letters, landed properties and estate management deed, two other businesses I am engaged in, letters from two strong traditional rulers with internet presence, a leave of absence from work...

No criminal record.

In our letters, we stated our short term goals, long term goals, expectations upon our return to contribute to the community as per the scholarship. We stated why she chose that course, why I need to go with them, what I know and what experience I could probably bring back to Nigeria to help develop my community.

She applied for study permit, I applied for spousal open work permit, and our girl for a visitor visa.

Our application was submitted on 15th of January, Biometrics done and updated on 21st January, a ghost update on 26th of Feb and shockingly, 7 weeks (9th March 2020) after biometrics, we were sent a BVL.

From the information shared on this platform so far, applications that go as far as 7 weeks and a ghost update have got a good chance, as a matter of fact, good as done. We are still processing what could have gone wrong..

We are waiting for our refusal letter... Contemplating if we should reapply, appeal or just focus on making the best out of what we have here. That scholarship opportunity may never come again.

What should we do

PS: Our application was verified and vetted by a former Visa Officer (not Canadian) before we applied.

If you want to have peoples assessment about your application, you will have to share the lists of documents you submitted and the reason for your refusal.

That way, the gurus will have idea about your app and be better equipped to help you out on what to add and what not to add

My answer was talking directly about lawyers. Sorry if my answer was misconstrued to mean all programs.
Thanks for pointing that out
