My wife did ssce 2005 and finished her first degree(B.sc)in 2012.

She has been offered addmision for her second degree (B.sc) in Canada.

Please kindly advice, should she put in her application to go for the Second B.sc degree which she has been offered admission for or she should just apply for masters program instead?

Thanks

she should apply for Masters. It'll be almost impossible for her to get a visa going for Bsc

Greetings to you boss @Frankrobbn1
My question to the enlightenment of many of us is
If I am done with a 1yr Program, then applied and got a 1yr PGWP, but during or before the end of the 1yr PGWP I got admitted into another 1yr program, 1. Will such a person still be eligible to apply for a another PGWP?
2. If yes, how many years PGWP will he or she gets?

Please experience minds should also contribute with answers.
Thanks
You can only apply for TRV once. But if you finish a 1 year program and immediately continue to another 1 or 2 years program with no break in between you can then get 3 yr PGWP

Below was my response to a similar question on page 554?; although focused on PhD applicants, it is exactly what you would do (maybe to a lower degree) if you want to secure a POI for thesis master. BTW, it is already late to secure a supervisor for the 2020 entry at this time, you have to start planning for 2021 or look at other schools/programs that do not require you to secure a supervisor in advance. Best of luck

On a second thought, PhD is a research work that requires you to be highly independent and curious minded. This can be be displayed in the quality of your research idea or prospective research focus. A 500-words abridged research proposal is a good measure of how you can pass across your ideas in few words. An expanded proposal may be requested in other cases but keeping it simple have always worked for me.

You also need academic preparations in terms of qualifications and grades. A minimum of 2.1 will be good enough to qualify you. Some programs/countries requires you to write standardized exams (GRE/GMAT). This may make up for high 2.2 or low 2.1 grades in places where the exam score are not required. So if you submit (even when they are not required) these could help your case. NB: you stand better chance if your masters is an academic degree (not a professional/terminal degree) - check out status of yours and the difference from experts in your discipline. If you have an MPhil, even better. You may want to do a second masters that is academic (one year) and aim to score high.

Below is the process that has always worked for me to secure PhD admissions in different countries.

1. Choose a focus area and subject you want to research.
2. Write an abridged proposal -- check samples online and in libraries for structure.
3. You may want to develop a more robust proposal as back up in case your program/supervisor requires it
4. Search for programs, schools, or professors who specialize in your interest area. Look at their works and you may even find research ideas from such places. Get the emails and other contact details for any of these that may interest you.
5. My advise is to also look at the admissions requirement and availability of funding in these programs. They are usually open about what comes with the offer, if you get it.
6. One or more research publications in peer-reviewed journals will boost your chances.
7. A good unpublished writing sample - term paper, assignment, project report - may also be adequate.
8. Using the draft proposals to craft a simple (250 - 300 words) inquiry email to prospective supervisors. This is a very important email -- all aspects are crucial -- right to the captioned subject. For instance, Enquiry: Prospective PhD in International Development Studies
9. Send out this email to as many relevant professors as possible. BUT always edit them so you can direct to appeal to the interests of such people.
10. If you receive 3 out 10 replies your inquiries, then you are either lucky or sufficiently good to catch their attention. Reason is they receive 10's of such emails weekly. Don't be discouraged! Some will ignore altogether, some will tell you they are not available or interested, some will request for additional information -- scan transcripts, writing sample, CV etc. If your email and research area meets with someone who is looking to hire a Phd student in that same area, then you are you have crossed a major hurdle. They would usually request a meeting/interview via Skype at this point. If you impress during your interview and they say you can go ahead to apply, your admission and funding are almost guaranteed. You must ensure your focus is always tweaked to match the interests of people you are contacting. There may be other variations to these but this is mostly my personal experience and from friends I know who have also succeeded in their PhD quest.

When you get to this point in your quest, you have my email then you can reach out for more tips. Otherwise, if you have the funds then just put in a good application to many schools and you can get one or two. Mostly, PhDs are not admitted because of your fees but your research potential.

Good morning everyone. Can someone help and guide me through. I want to sponsor my younger brother and my wife to study in Canada both of them just graduated. I have the means to sponsor them. My brother is 23 and my wife is 24 am also hoping to go with my wife if that will be possible. I have gone through most parts of this topic and I still don't understand the most basic things like applying for admission then applying for Visa then also the possibility of going with my wife. My brother introduced me to this agency he saw on Instagram. Their fees are much and no guarantee from experiences I have read here so I wouldn't want to spend money on uncertainty to make money now for Naija no easy. I will appreciate any kind of help towards.

Note: I don't have a landed property but my father does and we don't bear same surname

Am 30 by November 2020 and a graduate of Economics. I run a business but not registered with CAC

Thank you

Good Morning All,
I must have to appreciate the guru of Nairaland for efforts in impacting ones life.
Please I need an advice here.
My cousin sister a medical doctor in UK currently residing and living there advice me to get a post graduate studies in Canada that she will sponsor me.
My question is that personally on my own I can raise 2.5million by year end with a joint effort of my wife and I would like to know:
1) If she can be my sponsor while applying for the visa by she presently her UK bank statement?
2. Am a HND graduate and my wife is a BSc graduate in 2011 and has been working with a microfinance institution since 2013. Who stand the successful rate of applying and getting the visa.
3) Does any have a good idea of College of the North Atlantic college in Newfoundland Province?
Thanks as I await feedback. God bless you all

Hello everyone, I applied for my study visa online on feb 6th, eligibility review and background test started that week, I was then asked to do my medicals last week which I did and it was updated to pass on the 13th. When should I expect the next correspondence (will it be favorable?) from them as I want to apply for another visa with my passport and I might need to submit it? Thanks.
