Canada just closed its borders to non Canadians so if you have your visa, hold off on buying a ticket for now cause they won’t let you in . Good luck to everyone and be safe.

Tnx
So u think applying for another course will give me a slim chance of being approved

Yes. But it’s also not impossible.

Focus on using the best course or program to get your visa first, then after that program you may switch to another program of your choice as your 2nd program while you are still there.

Congrats on the UVic admission. You can process admission with that while you remain hopeful on the other schools.
Full funding is always easier for visa applications though in addition, depending on your goal though Usask and Calgary are 1st tier Canadian universities compared to UVic however BC is a beautifulplace and Victoria is beautiful.
Good luck with which ever you choose.
Kinzeerichy:
Greeting all, I need help.

I’m new on this thread and I seek your advice on my application. I just gained admission to the University of Victoria for my Masters in Law commencing August 27, 2020. I got my Bachelor of Laws here in Nigeria in 2017 (Service in 2018/2019 in same law firm I work now). Tuition fee for a year is approx. CAD$7,500 and I was given 2,000 from the School as funding for now. My uncle (presenting him as a brother) is sponsoring me.

In addition to immigration documents, below are the documents I intend to submit:

Profile

Statement of Purpose
Diploma in Law Certificate (Distinction)
LLB Certificate (First Class)
Call to Bar/Qualifying Certificate (First Class)
University Transcripts for both Diploma and LL.B
2/3 Pictures of Awards
NYSC Certificate
Acceptance Letter
Letter of Employment from law firm I work
Letter of Recommendation from work
Office ID card
Birth Certificate
Police Report
Data Page of Int’l Passport/National ID
Letters from Stanbic IBTC Pensions
Evidence of Tax Remittance

Financials

Sponsor’s Personal SOA with 16m
Sponsor’s Letter of Sponsorship with his company letter head
Sponsor’s Affidavit of Sponsorship
His Company’s Certificate of Incorporation
Tax Clearance Certificate for himself and the Company
Data Page of Int’l Passport
Deed of Gift (he will transfer like 5/6m to my personal account immediately before application in partial fulfillment of his sponsorship)
My Personal Statement of Account with like 1.5m with 5/6m from sponsor making 6/7.5m
Pay Slips for 6months

Home Tie

Father’s CAC documents showing I’m one of the directors
Study Leave Approval from work giving me just 1yr
Inclusion in my SOA that I will return as I won’t be qualified to practice as a lawyer in Canada but will return to resume work in Nigeria where I’m qualified.

Although I applied to University of Saskatchewan and Calgary which usually come with full funding that will cover tuition and living expenses. However, University of Saskatchewan sent an e-mail that due to COVID, decision will be reached in mid-end April while I haven’t heard at all from Calgary.

Questions

Are those documents above sufficient?

Should I proceed with University of Victoria and leave Usask and Calgary in the interest of time? or chill till April? and apply with a full funding?

What are the roles of these agents? Should I engage them or do it myself?

I look forward to receiving guidance from you. Thank you.

The Canadian prime minster declared a TEMPORARY CLOSURE of the Canadian border. Do not allow this affect your current plans to migrate to Canada or apply to schools. This is just a precautionary motive and things will be back in place God willing. Good luck to you all in your various visa processing.

You cant be serious. Uvic law school is one of the most reputable law programs in Canada and very to get into. Also a global leader in the areas of environmental and indigenous law.

Uni/law school rankings dont matter much in Canada so it's a strange thing to bring up in a congratulatory post.

Hello everyone, I just got my admission letter from Carleton University. Am going for a second bachelors degree, my first bachelors degree was in computer Engineering, the second which I just got the admission is Information Technology (Information Resource Management). My question now is whether I should state that am going for my second degree or not and what is the possibility that I won’t be flagged

Good Morning All. If I’m to apply for my TRV by end of April and I intend to do my medicals this week or mid-April (these are available dates for Qlife anyway), will my medical report still valid for visa application?

Yes it’s not advisable to go for a 2nd BSc.

You may not declare the first for to the VO, but that depends on your age and study gap. Especially your age.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by peaceful22: 10:25am On Mar 17, 2020
All universities in Canada are apparently switching to online classes.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Nobody: 10:29am On Mar 17, 2020
I don’t mean to discourage you, but your chances of getting a visa is very very low.

Especially if your age is above 25 and there’s a gap.

You can try though

All the best

Online applications are not affected

You might just experience some delays

No you don’t have to mention it.

Those are two different things.

Plus applying for the other doesn’t affect your right to apply for a study permit.

Age doesn't matter in visa application, where age comes to play is in the admission, once the school offers you admission, and you can show them your finical strength, you can apply for visa

Yes I think so, since virtually everything is done online. They can check and send reports online ,since most of them now work from home
