Hello Everyone,
I have been a silent reader since last year. Now, I am preparing to submit my application. I am planning to travel with my two sons and an aunty to help me with their care while I study for my PhD. I will be applying for visitor visa for them.

Has anyone tried applying for a relative like an aunt? If yes, how did he/she go about justifying the reason why she needs to go? I will appreciate tips to increase her chances of being successful.

I know people like Goingforward, MsJu and some others have been successful with their applications with their children. I will be grateful if someone can help me read through my statement of purpose and letter of explanation.

I will really appreciate the help of the gurus in the house.

Thank you.
Please, can someone help?

Hello Maprince4, medicals is mostly done at Q-life and IOM cant say if there are other places. Cost is currently N46,500 at IOM located at 1, Isaac John street, Ikeja. U would be required to make an appointment for this hence need to visit there first or call their customer care line to book an appointment.

I hope this helps.

Nothing is impossible madam.

The only things is that, we’re being careful in putting in Application.

Situation like this can generate curiosity of home-ties which might make the V.O to result to “....not sure applicant will return home....” and bla bla bla.

It’s also not impossible though. If you can include in LOE the reasons why you will be going with your kids. But be ready to include in your letter the following.

1. Where’s your husband?
2. Won’t it affect your children education?
3. What’s the provision for your children education in Canada?
4. Cost implication for the upkeep of your children.
5. Why not taking the course in your country of residence?
6. What’s the advantage and career prospect of proposed course in Canada over your country of residence.

Questions 1-4 are personal questions which the VO might think about to inform his/her decision about application.

I will suggest you take the idea of your kids and aunt out of your application for now (just my suggestion though)to avoid complication cos application needs to be as simple as possible to wade off so many questions from VO.
My 2cents.

Hello, your CGPA is low for a master's degree program but should be sufficient for a post-graduate diploma or Graduate certificate program. your work experience will also be valuable when you are applying. traveling with your spouse to study in Canada is very feasible and your spouse can get an open work permit while you study. the open work permit(OWP) means your spouse will get a work permit which coincides with the duration of your work permit. a lot of couples here in Canada have their spouses here with them. you go to school he works to pay the bills lol.

Hello

Please how is SOP different from LOE? I have read through the thread and I saw a post where a member said LOE is necessary for re-application and another that said it's addressed to the VO while SOP isn't addressed. I am particular about the content of both, as they look the same to me. Please help clarify this. Thanks

simply put;
SOP- Written as a statement of motivation to justify your reason for coming to Canada. it covers your background, education/work experience, why you chose the program/school/, why you chose Canada and you future goals. in most cases also includes a financial breakdown.

LOE(Letter of explanation)- this is written in reference to issues you want to point out to the visa officer reviewing your application. this could be in lieu of a recent refusal clause you are trying to justify or explaining a document upload or whatsoever that can be confusing to the VO. It can also be called Statement of clarification, statement of explanation etc....

for masters degree programs, general questions or checklists need to be fulfilled;
1. do you have a high CGPA?
2. Financial ability to sponsor a rather expensive master's degree program in Canada?
3. Ready to meet the demands of a master's degree program in Canada.
4. you ave all your credentials ready( O'level certificate, BSc degree certificate, transcript, available work/education reference available upon request, motivation letter for program choice)
5. lastly, going forward you need to have a plan. it is not enough to just want to ENTER CANADA you need to have a decent knowledge of the province you want to go and the opportunities provided going forward,

Hello house I am a 39 year old man with a family of 5 including myself. I have a Bachelors degree, no Masters or PhD. I also do not speak French. I have a thriving business and sufficient work experience.

With this information, I saw that my chances for express entry to Canada are very slim. Except if there's a way, I'm open to suggestions.

I want to know my chances of getting PR through doing a masters program for myself and my family. My wife has a Masters degree by the way.

Please your responses are eagerly anticipated and highly valued. Thanks.
Hello,
You are right judging by your age coming over to Canada via express entry night be a little difficult but not impossible. however, there is a silver lining. my best advice for you is to;
1. Assuming you have a high CGPA from your undergraduate degree and sufficient work experience let us say 5-10yrs you can apply for a SPECIALISED MASTERS PROGRAM.
2. do not apply with your family use them as a prime home tie to justify your apparent return to Nigeria after your study program.
3, when you get to Canada by God's grace after let us say a semester apply for your wife ONLY to come over on visiting visa to spend time with you.
4. when she gets in you then have to decide if you will convert that visiting visa to an open work permit.
5, if you are lucky to scale through remember your wife as an MSc degree so she can easily write English exams in Canada and apply for express entry including you in the application.

the process is tedious but if you are motivated, get the right guidance, a little bit of luck and last but not the least Gods blessing then it is possible. i have also included a snapshot of the financial requirement when bringing your family in the long run.

Good Evening House,
Please I have an important question for those who applied online.
You know the forms are slightly different. How do you submit the other forms you downloaded Specifically for Nigeria especially the Study permit instruction (19 pages)
Then Check list
PCC
NYSC
Transcript
Degree certificate and others.

Because online doesn’t give provision to submit a lot of things.

Kindly advice
God bless you.

Which is better paper or online?

I believe if you have so many narrations to make then it is better to make use of the online route. that way you can analyse and pin-point essential areas you want the VO to look into and understand. regarding size you can always use pdf compressors to compress down to 4MB or lower which is the online requirement. another essential tip I will give you is when scanning bank statement you don't have to scan everything cover to cover especially if above 20pages. you can take 2pages from each month and scan the last 3 pages and don't forget to attach the reference letter.

Hello everyone, I have a question bothering my mind.

I have been giving an admission into one university already and I have accepted the admission.

Now I realized that the school fees is huge and I have applied to another school. I'm worried, will the new school know that I have already been giving an admission into one Sch and that I have already applied.

Please help clarify

Hello Adunola,
I believe it's possible to get an approval. Package your application well with a good sop. Include a breakdown of your living expenses and how you are going to care for your kids. If your kids are not up to school age. Personally, I will leave the relative

Applying with your children at the same time will kinda reduce your chances of approval (except you have another strong home tie), adding your aunt will reduce your chances even more.
Best bet is to apply alone or at most with your children. If you must apply with your children, try to make provision for their education and upkeep before applying (like getting them a school or daycare, depending on their age). I
I want to believe funds won't be an issue for you, so try to get them a school in Canada before making your next move.
NB: But if you don't have any strong hometie, then you can apply alone first and use your kids as your hometie, once you get your approval you can now apply for them

well applying for two different visa categories is called DUAL INTENT. However, I won't advise you to do that. Canadian immigration encourages applicants applying for temporary and permanent visa categories but from a Nigerian perspective and difficulty in getting visa approvals I believe sticking to one category is advisable going forward.

go ahead and apply for your visa. Canada hasn't placed a ban on visa processing however, it can take longer because a lot of embassies are been shut down. the worst scenario as reported is you will be asked to isolate for 2weeks when you arrive.
