Somebody should tell NOUN to extend their registration days. One of their oga told me yesterday that the registration deadline is still 31st March, 2020
Only Kano? Because you are there. Selfish individual.

9jaRealist:

While COVID-19 is a novel (new) coronavirus...
Thus far it shows the same lifespan as with other coronaviruses (flu, etc.).

The medical evidence so far is that, unless a person has underlying health issues, the COVID-19 generally has a 14-day (or less) lifespan. Accordingly, A 3-WEEK COMMUNITY-BASED SELF-ISOLATION AND SOCIAL-DISTANCING SHOULD BREAK THE CHAIN OF INFECTION! Even in those who have the virus but are asymptomatic (that is, not showing any symptoms), the virus will work its way out of the system in about 14 days or less (again, unless there are other underlying health issues). Furthermore, the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of confirmed cases (about 80%) will recover and many confirmed cases will only have mild symptoms. It's a virus, but the greatest danger with COVID-19 has been the high and fast rate of infection, which raises the danger that many cases at the same time will overwhelm the healthcare system with sheer numbers.

The evidence thus far is that COVID-19 might well be around for a while...
But the best way to break the chain of infection and to flatten the curve (of the rate of infection) is SELF-ISOLATION and SOCIAL DISTANCING..

Therefore, this is NOT going to be a case of "government this, politicians that"...
This time EVERYONE has a role to play, and our COLLECTIVE conduct will determine COVID-19's impact on Nigeria! Good luck to us all!
>

What a brilliant contribution. This is an angle a lot of folks are not privy to. Thanks for sharing.

This is indeed a complex situation..
I've had a runny nose all day embarassed
A runny nose is not a sign of the virus persistent cough weakness and shortness of breath are. Dont ruin your own day - you dont have the covid 19.

This man was asked to close borders on time but his stupidity and illiteracy has caused us a lot in this country. Even when the borders remained open all incoming travellers should have been quarantined for at least two weeks.
This thing was not difficult then

I just hate this country ... Why the hell did this fools not stop international flights sooner

If it's because of their kids and family surely they will be better off isolated there...

I'm just looking at our health system and feel like crying...

To stay house is not a problem but how does the average Nigerian eat ...

Lord help us...

Why do people keep emphasising international flights only and airport closure delay as if those are the only routes into Nigeria.

There are too many entry points into and out of Nigeria. Many are official and many are unofficial. Many are known and many are unknown.

People arrive at the airports in Ghana, Togo, Benin republic, Niger, Chad, Cameroun and Equitorial Guinea and find their way by land and sea through the very easy borders into Nigeria. As we speak ships still berth at the seaports. Fishing trawlers are at sea. Smugglers bring foreign rice in daily and the worst of them, the normadic fulani herdsmen whose passport in and out of Nigeria is their tribe. How could all these ever be checked.

It would have been a matter of a little time for coronavirus to get into Nigeria.

What we should do now is to move forward with containment. Complaints like this have become outdated and boring. The government should get in the equipments necessary by air. Wealthy Nigerians and corporate organisations should wake up and do the needful like Mrs. Alakija by ordering equipments to serve the entire nation. Ventilators are needed desperately. Buhari should do something urgently to get ventilators.

If this continued for 6 months it will be the end of humanity.

The only people that would remain would be those immune to the virus.

And anyone not killed by d virus will die of hunger or by the sword of looters.

But i believe God sha.
This is just not how the world ends

grin

Calm down. It's actually not that difficult.

Even the most deadly diseases in history could not kill 1/50 of worlds population.

Don't toll that line of thinking.

It's totally illusive and suicidal.

Well... If the available statistics is to be believed, it's obvious that the rate of transmission in Nigeria is very low, same with other west African countries. 90% of the cases we have are still imported.

Please people, stay at home and disinfect regularly.
Mop and clean surfaces with hypo.
Use facemasks and gloves if you must go out.
There's no such thing as being too careful.

If you fall ill now and need to be admitted, no one will come after you at the hospital. You can't even tell your family to look after your children while you go sort yourself out. Simply keep yourself and yours safe

I just sorry for people wey dey naija prison. Hope police stations have emptied their cells??
Hypo is not alcohol based. it contains Hydrochloride and none of the alcohol family.
