Exactly. When I read the experience of the guy below, the first thing that entered my mind was this online account officer. He may mean well at the beginning but you would be handing off too much power to another person in respect of your account.

Same happened to me months ago. I started having problems the day I sent a mail to my supposed account officer to open a domiciled account. He mailed back asking for few details and pronto I started receiving POS alerts on transactions I never made. 680k down the drain like that. That bank is complete fraud! angry

I think it's best to slow down in EuroBonds and dollar denominated bonds as the oil price per barrel is at $19 per barrel.

The Nigerian govt will really struggle to repay maturing foreign debts.

Dangote will be really worried now with his refinery profit projection in danger.

dagote will even make more profit self.

He buys a barrel (159 liters) at 19usd and sells at 115 to 120 naira a liter to the distributors. Even if he decides to sell at 80naira self he will still gain.

The losers here are those that are selling the raw material, not the finished product. Na as you buy you go sell, but here, he's buying low and still selling high.

My only only fear for dangote is why not invest on renewable energies since that is the direction the world is leaning to right now. In 10 to 20 years from now, newer car models will be fully running solely electric and solar. The fate of fuel will then be like that of kerosene now

Over to the economists.

Well I can assure you that the transition to renewable energy would take a minimum of 10-15years if not more...

I agree with you on your Dangote's refinery analysis...I pray production starts as soon as possible because that would be our relief to dependency on dollar for import of petroleum products and I believe in no distant time after launch, Nigeria may become an exporter of petroleum products (other distilled commercial products of crude) to other african countries

A naira denominated bill or bonds is safer than a bond denominated in foreign currency. Normally, the proceeds of new issue is what is used to pay the old ones. let us assume that people dont bid again, as a result the new issue to pay the old ones is not enough, govt will simply print more money to pay back. Unlike eurobonds, the govt may default cos the currency is out of their control.

Please forgive me for this post.

I'm currently in a dilemma, first bank contacted me about the bvn linkage on my account.

They said I need a sworn affidavit, letter and newspaper publication to correct my name on their records.

My name hasn't changed, my identity documents match what is on the bvn , the issue for them is that they don't have my middle name .

So essentially my first name and surname is correct but the middle name is missing.

I told them a change of name affidavit doesn't make sense because I haven't changed my name

They advised they'll freeze all my accounts until I get them the aforementioned documents for a name change.

I'm in the process of converting some naira into my Dom so this is just another blow on top of my original issues with d devaluation.

Can anyone explain how I can navigate this issue?

Sorry for derailing the thread , no where else to ask.

It not a change of name affidavit. It's an affidavit alright but it's not for change of name. More like addition. Your affidavit should explain that your middle name was omitted on bvn details. Get the requirements and update your profile.

Pension funds, Banks etc will continue to invest.
The law limits what pension funds can invest in.

I tried buying bond last week from the secondary market but couldn't get. So this very new issue would end in over subscription

That 159 litles is crude oil, only about 50% of a barrel (80 litres) is extracted as petrol
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Johnadelaide00: 2:47pm On Mar 31, 2020
What is the cost of refining crude oil? What they say is it takes over $15 to refine per barrel

I guess both your HSBC account and the dorm account are UK accounts. Mine is Nigerian account. Infact my dorm account is GTbank, while the Naira I wish to convert and deposit in the dorm account is in my Stanbic account. How I wish the banks can allow that easy conversion and deposit between accounts.

The incentives to go green or embark on renewable energies are substantially diminished when barrel prices are low.
