Angry Warri youths on Wednesday morning, attacked some of the state taskforce team deployed to enforce the state government's sit at home order.

The governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on March 26, announced that the state will be on total lockdown beginning from today April 1, to prevent the importation of the Coronavirus to the state.

Men of the state taskforce who were sent out to enforce the order, were attacked by some angry youths along Jakpa road. According to the youths, they cannot sit at home when they have no food to eat.

This is what happen when there's hunger in the land. You can't just lock people up without palliative measures. Our country must emulate other nations. You're telling me to stay indoor when you are not the one feeding. I should remain inside and die of hunger right ?

Okowa is a stupid governor, he set up a taskforce without any armed security backup to enforce the sit-at-home order. He is just exposing the men of the taskforce to intimidation and harassment. The police, Civil Defence or armed should have been attached to the taskforce for serious enhancement. If disbandment of gatherings is not enforced, I weep for the outcome of an outbreak should the pandemic visit them. Okowa please do the needful so that you don't cry to God for your inefficiency and ineptitude.

I was referring to the fact that he wants them to be armed. He wants task force to be armed. I did not justify the attack on them. It seems no one is buying gift cards from you anymore. You are pouring your anger on me.
