My Landlord Is Intimidating Me And Wants To Evict Me Before My Rent Expires

I paid my house rent for one full year on 18/04/2019. My rent is due to expire on 17/04/2020.

But my Landlord is insisting it expired on 17/03/2020. Which is Eleven months. I have tried explaining to him but he wants to lock me out unless I pay immediately.

Please how do I get redress.

Didnt you collect receipt or you have no proof of payment?

Your landlord is correct, April to March = 12 months
April to April =13months

I rented my apartment 02/04/2019. My landlady came for her rent 03/03/2020. Your rent is due that's exactly 12 calendar month=1 year

Really sorry saying this your landlord is right but on fraudulent level because he played a fast one on
you,your eagerness to secure the house made you fall victim, you should have insisted on waiting till end of the month,your landlord counts 18th to 30th =12 days. 12 days to the landlord is month gone from your rent.. In nutshell he cheated you.

For those calculating nonsense, you are an annual tenant. Meaning your rent is for 365 days. Calculate 365 days from 18/4 and you have 17/4. If yur rent started in 1/4, it would expire in 31/3. get a lawyer to write you formally and then get a lawyer to reply him. If you don't cure his madness now, he would bring up another scheme to fleece you next time.

It should be stated on your receipt?

How I wish I've not dispose my receipt of my previous apartment... I would have shown you

I rented an apartment, the landlady stated 15/10/18 - 14/09/19..... I called her attention to it immediately while still writing it..

She had to count and discover I was right

She not adjusted it to 14/10/19, saying so she has been doing mistake to others, and they never notice

The adjustment was obvious.

Politely call the landlord attention to it, if he refuse, get across a lawyer writing to him

Stating the year basis, and cautioning him to desist harassing you...

Note.. He might just make up his mind giving you quit notice after the whole drama.

Even if it remains 1month to pay, don’t you have the rent already. Find half payment Give am, for this corona you cannot come and rent my house and be challenging me. I always strive to make sure I pay my house rents at least 3 months before it expires. Accommodation is not something I joke with

17March - April is 12months

Get a lawyer just to frighten him. Don't sue him, you can afford to waste that money while your rent is almost due.
