As the 14 days lockdown and stay-at-home order over stopping spread of the deadly Coronavirus, COVID-19, continue, a 23 year old female lover, simply called Rejoice, Saturday, committed suicide by drinking a deadly substance, sniper, in GRA area of Mpape, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, over alleged abandonment of her boy-friend.

According to residents in the area, Rejoice was jilted by the action of her boy-friend who was dating her, which out of frustration decided to take her life as the romance went sour following her male lover called their relationship quit.

One of the residents who wants be anonymous said her body was found in her family house bathroom and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was confirmed dead on arrival.

She has been buried, leaving behind her 18 months old daughter including her parents, elder brothers and friends.

One has to overcome two things to live above suicide tendency

1). Low self esteem
2). Rejection by societal standard

She has portrayed herself to be opposite of the name she bears embarassed now her loved ones would mourn her and not rejoice.

People who commit suicide what exactly do they always think before taking their lives i always wonder

Don’t they say they are many fishes in the river. That one way doesn’t work doesn’t mean another won’t. Dying for the wrong reasons, it’s so bad I swear. Heart break shouldn’t make anyone committ suicide who knows if it’s a blessing in disguise and a way of missing out on the calamities that partner had in stock for you.



Quite a sad news in the long run, who would look after her 18 months old daughter. Humans should always know that God’s ways most times are never the ways of men. But not everyone is even strong to end some relationships that are dead on arrival.

I pray for forgiveness on your soul and getting the peace earth couldn’t give you. It’s so so disheartening leaving life like this!!!

Pathetic.

A lot of hungry people have not killed themselves and she killed herself because of a man ( if true).
BTW, the lockdown is getting real. Saw a man who swallowed his pride, moving from shop to shop begging for foodstuffs just for his kids to eat, some gave him maggi, others onion and rice. I was moved i swear. You needed to see how this man was praying for them.

Too bad. It is foolishness to take one's life bc of love. The truth is there are 1000 pple out there who truly love u that u don't know, so when one idiot does not appreciate u, walk away and u will find true love.

It could be ill-tempered that caused her lover to quit. Her action justifies the decision of the guy.
I remember calling it quit with a babe that is ill-tempered. Though she never took her life.
