it’s not a thing of pride to beg. We should be able to differentiate who’s really in need, E.g,If u see a woman on d street with kids looking hungry, it’s blissful to give. For those beggars on twitter, one shouldn’t pay so much attention to them cos most times they just beg out of greed. We should all be guarded . Give if u have but don’t let anyone extort u. 3 Likes |

I disagree with all those that said it is due to poverty.... To me it is contentment problem, we are not always satisfy with what we have and we lack capacity (mental wise) to build different stream of income. Go to airport n see how people that are collecting good salaries begs travellers. It is shameful 3 Likes |

I went to warri once and saw boys whose outfits would cost nothing less than 100k begging. Begging people they dress costlier than for money. |

I really find it abit bewildering when people say "there's hunger in the land o" as an excuse for begging. Yet we all claim Nigerians are very industrious and blah blah blah. I have like most people "begged" from relatives - some helped and some did not - but i have always tried to live within my means! Wages r what they are either u earn urs daily or monthly, ur savings culture is very important for days like this. Now coming to nairaland, its very embarrassing really, as u c e-beggars fighting for beghing space. I saw a begging thread where one e-beggar was asking another to go open his own thread and stop spamming the thread (like its some form of real business). Ironically, these are d same guys who would have boasted abt feeding ur family for 5 generations n shapeless bank accounts! Anyone with a newly opened account on here for begging is a scam n shouldn't be helped. The same citizens lashing the govt for not bn prepared r the ones begging all day long cos they weren't prepared too despite having access to daily news n events! Begging is shameful but the e-begging is shameless after all is a faceless forum and they have perfected the art of not including their full names in their account details. 4 Likes |

Some people are used to begging it has become their live style and if you check you will see that most of them are lazy. What do yhu mean by Nigerians LIKE begging Does anyone like begging? Is begging a likable trait? People beg for assistance when they can't meet their needs. Nobody is robbing you...they are only asking for assistance...just taking their chances on you. Quit with the holier than thou attitude. Given, it seems embarrassing to always flood people's timeline with begging...those posts should be controlled but please don't look down on anyone for begging. It's not a thing of pleasure.[/quote] |

@op, God bless you for this thread! This is exactly what I've been saying/typing on this forum and they've been tagging me wicked. It's entitlement mentality, one beggar on one of their begging threads here even posted that she has right to beg since she's a single mother of two, she even went as far as alleging that the giver hated her and that's why he's been giving to others and not giving to her, as if the giver is the one that impregnated her. Honestly, on NL, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and others, go and see how our youths have been embarrassing themselves and the country, begging up and down, posting account details up and down, it's honestly becoming irritating and annoying. Anytime I come across the beggings , I always SMH for them. Godliness with contentment is great gain. We all should learn to be contented with what we have. Nobody owes anyone anything. Stop selling your birthright because of a plate of porridge. A word is enough for the wise. 4 Likes |

Terrible behaviour. And most times, they want to do it for ever, because eits awoof money. What is the difference between online beggers and those who are on the streets with plates begging? Or even the Almajiris? Yet, they are the ones who will insult the life out of Almajiris, forgetting those ones are still children being exploited while they- grown adults are even worse |
