What's happening in the UK?
The number of Covid-19 cases is over 73000 and just less than 350 has recovered. Similarly in Ireland.

If their approach is not working, they should be flexible and seek help from countries with high recovery rate like Germany.

Just wondering if they are really concerned about this disturbing trend!

Of course I'm bothered.

It's nothing to be worried about. It's not amongst the statistics being collated by the Government on a daily basis. No of deaths, No of hospital admissions, No of patients that require both oxygen treatment and ICU are viewed as much more important in their fight to bring an end to this Pandemic.

Hello Claremont:
Can I apply to go to the UK on a 2 year tier 4 student visa. Then during my stay, apply to join the army?

You can do that when they have opened up applications for commonwealth applicants. It was still closed the last time I checked. Plus, Covid19 restrictions probably means there will be no face to face assessments until the pandemic is over.

The main difference between the UK and Germany is the robustness of the German healthcare system and the aggreesive nature of testing in Germany. Germany are testing an average of 70,000/day, the Uk is barely scratching 15,000/day. The UK healthcare system has been decimated by the Conservative government for the past 10 years which explains why the NHS is currently struggling. There was a pandemic serial performed on the NHS months ago prior to this current pandemic, and the NHS failed it woefully. The key learning points from that serial wasn't implemented due to lack of funding.

I would also like to point out that the death rate which is announced daily in the UK only represents the death rate of Covid19 patients presenting in hospitals. It doesn't include death of Covid19 patients in care homes and those who die undiagnosed at home as they have been told to self-isolate. If all the figures are collated, the daily death rate will be at least double what they currently say it is in the UK.

If you are a doctor, there’s a Facebook group, Nigerian doctors in the UK. It is very helpful. I don’t think there’s a dedicated Nairaland thread for it. But I’m happy to answer any queries you have. [/quote]

I thought it's odd that the official figures is not including fatalities from Covid-19 outside hospitals... especially when they said care homes have been hit hard of late

What the difference between this style and the Chinese way of reporting

My sister works at a care home and I can confirm that they've been hit pretty hard.

Those infected at care homes are taken to the hospital where they eventually (yeah, 90% of the time) die and I believe, accounted for in the official figures.

Some of them die at their care homes and these are the ones I haven't read any statistics about.

In fact, there doesn't seem to be enough media coverage for care homes and their staff.

Recent review on Azimo vs Worldremit

This experiment was conducted twice........

Azimo took under 55 seconds to credit my account, makes me feel Azimo's crediting facilities are fully automated.....

Worldremit unbelievably credited my account, after 8 hours of funds transfer.....

Rates : About the same.......

Hello,

I hope you are well.

I tried to use Azimo for a transfer and I’ve been asked to upload a proof of ID. Do I have anything to worry about doing this and would I have to upload it once or for every transaction?

Cheers

I use Azimo and haven’t had any need to worry. You don’t upload proof of ID for every transaction

Yes you will be asked to upload an ID the moment you start sending higher figure, you will only be asked to do this once

the one time I didnt use azimo, I hear Nwii. My only complaint is that rates are low.

I ve started transferring directly to domicillary account. I havent done the conversion to know whether that's saving me money.

This people have started this nonsense again with this virus, no need for NHS, he can walk in to any hospital treating coronavirus victims in Lagos and start healing them then we have an evidence to support this suspicious claim

I think its malaria as well cheesy.... however the traffic between lagos and london on a normal is a lot. Most flights are full so I would expect to see more cases in Nigerians with covid since the numbers are high in the uk

I wonder if weather , our diet or something is causing Nigeria numbers not to be so high. Once this is over. It would be interesting to see that study

Transferring directly to domicillary account using Azimo?

How possible is that?

How do you usually do it?

I'm a British Army airborne veteran (16 Medical Regt, Royal Army Medical Corps), but even I cannot sponsor anyone. Plus, a sponsor cannot increase your chances of getting a visa to go for the physical assessment tests in the UK. I would advice you to come to the UK via any legal route, and apply whilst your visa is still valid.

I cannot help with sponsorship, but if there is anything you need to know about the recruitment process etc, ask it here. I left the army many years ago with my veteran badge and lots of good memories of travelling around the world. I owe a lot to the army and I would never discourage anyone from joining.

Good luck with it.

Good day Claremont just want to know ig I can become an officer there after joining as a recruit
I don't want spend all ma money and end up being just a mare private in the army...

hello guys, hope you had a lovely Easter break.
Please can someone recommend a platform where I can trade in shares at a moderate fee? My bank charges fees that I do not fully understand and something like £20 admin fees + £11 per transaction.

Please, is there anyone in touch with Nigeria High Commission in UK (Nigerian Embassy) for possible evacuation from UK to Nigeria? I need as much information as possible.
I called Nigeria High Commission UK phone number, but it wasn't going through.

I need enough information to start preparing to leave UK for Nigeria.

Thank you.

Them say one needs to me the conditions set out by the NCDC, take the COVID-19 test and if tested negative, should reach out to the High Commission in the UK to indicate their intent in being repatriated back to Nigeria.
Email address: evcuation@nigeriahc.org.uk

And that "Those who are yet to take the COVID-19 test and are interested in taking their tests can find many suitable options in the UK, both public and private sectors. We encourage you to explore these options available."

NHS has made it clear that if you no show any signs, dem no go test person. You might need to fake some high temperature o grin

Btw .. not sure what your status is but if your visa is running out, it will automatically be extended till end of May in case you don't know.
