I already have my instructors rating and have over 500 flight hours

I know spending more money can help to possibly secure a job but some of the ways I know will cost above $20,000 (₦7.2 mil) which I simply don't have

i understand , i have been through it, keep going on with instructing and try to get your atpl once you get the hours, i got on a cessna caravan before i could get a type on a Q400,i have several ratings now,All is in the past and i am happy i didnt give up, stay strong , do not lose motivation

they listed it as one of the profession one does not need to go to school for. Aaahhh!! Thank God I save that one and had it in mind to do a research on that to counter that lie.

You got it wrong. Nobody listed it as one of the profession one does not need to go to school for. Please, go and read it again and try to comprehend it.

Explorers:
The average salary of a Nigerian pilot depends on a number of factors. How experienced the pilot is, the Flying hours (how many hours he/she has flown), and Pilot’s personal ranking Rating types Company (the airline the pilot works for)

Every new pilot (who has no experience and has just graduated from an aviation college) usually has a NCAA license (it is called CPL or Commercial Pilot License) but does not have a rating yet.

He/she may have problems with finding a job right after the graduation and can only hope for ‎₦200,000 to ‎₦500,000 if lucky(in a good airline company) per month. This can only happen if the employer will send their new pilot to Type Rating courses.

Pilots who are first officers (FO) and senior first officers (SFO) meaning they do have their Type Rating can expect their salaries up to ‎₦800,000 per month. In their situation, the amount of money they are paid absolutely depends on the company that offers them a job, their experience and flying hours.

Salary of Captain, Local captains can expect a higher salary than new pilots.

Their average monthly salary depends on the company and their working hours. Depending on these factors, these Nigerian pilots might be paid from ‎₦500,000 to ‎₦1,500,000 Naira a month.

International captain/pilot flying for international companies can earn ‎₦2,000,000 per month.

Please, how about becoming an Air Traffic Controller. What does it take?

i mean seafaring pays more bro, was even thinking until i saw the pay, captains onboard ships earn more, just imagine going onboard international vessels with imo pay? ‍♂️.. 3rd engr onboard

That is what i observed too.
Seems seafaring pays more with less cost of tuition and other related courses.
Which vsl are you?

Surveying and geoinformatics, I have never worked in a ship before. The above course covers both marine survey.

Well, i think your best bet is to do some marine/offshore related courses like HSE courses after which you can apply for HSE/Surveyors jobs but without experience in those sectors, it will be hard to get a job.

Just weighing my options and job security.

Deck officers but it is not computer per say rather DP system.
It's an advance computer and when operated keeps the ship on a particular position without manoeuvring manually.
Qualifications are -
Stcw manila 2010
COC
Advance mandatories
Peripheral certificates and documents

Not different from what sailors earn and the courses are a bit cheaper than pilots.
I am a second officer and depending on company, certificate and experience you will get between 250k to 2.2m at my level sailing offshore or holding a north to south africa sailing ticket/license

Your are right. I can relate with the information at my disposal as an employee in a shipping and logistics coy.

What is your rank?

The post did not state that you don’t have to go to school, it was clearly outlined that you don’t have to go through the hassle of getting a degree before venturing into the profession.

is not up to 70m. the one I am currently processing in Canada is about $67k including a year living expenses.
you can get more info. just search for aerocadet

I'm sure you dont get what I'm saying.
This flight school will give you your certificates and training buh is that enough to land you a job? The answer is NO. You need more than just training and certs to make it to the cockpit.

The one i talked about above offers traing, certs and a guaranteed 1500 flight hours not on trainer aircrafts but on passenger aircrafts, the airbus A320 and A321neo and will get you on any commercial airline in the US or middle east or maybe just about anywhere in the world..an almost instant employment after you finish.
With this your school, you might just have to hustle the required flight hours to land a seat in the back row of the cockpit.

Answer these

You should be at least below 30 at most 35,why? Because at 40 you would be renewing your medicals yearly while below that its 2 years or so

Do you suffer from motion sickness
Meaning do you feel like vomiting when you are in a high speeding vehicle, work on that before committing

Your eye sight your health extremely important
That's why the ideal age for commencing a career 16 or early 20s

That's when you are the peak of health
and airlines are willing to train you if you have a ppl with hours or a cpl

Money money money keep nothing less than 20 million for a realistic chance of being a cpl holder

Good luck

Below 40 you will renew your general medical every year, comprehensive will be every 2 years.

You can apply to canada for permanent residence under the express entry system: NOC 2271: Air pilots, flight engineers and flying instructors. It takes some effort and you will need to show proof of funds.
