You forgot to say Adebola Adegunwa started as a photographer. He later became the major distributor of Kodak film in Nigeria. He also had photo laboratories all over Nigeria. The properties are now used as Depot for Rite food products and Bigi drink products.

One of the advantages of real estate, the investment can be converted to other uses

Ess-ay Holdings owned by Adebola Adegunwa with headquarters at Adebola House Opebi Ikeja Lagos is a major shareholder of Sterling Bank and CSCS. The company has interest in real estate, manufacturing, insurance, marine, hoslitality etc

It's fine if an investor cannot read charts but I feel every investor should try and learn how to read and interpret financial statements. We all should make use of this lockdown as an opportunity to acquire new skills that will help us to make informed decisions regarding our investment moving forward.
Please how and where do one start to acquire such skill. I've tried to make inquiries if there is such seminars around where I stay but it seems there is non.

Taking advantage of information they are privy to about the company to trade the company's shares. It's against the company policy in many multinationals.
All information you need to know about a listed company as an investor are always published on the NSE portal. Directors/management and employees of listed companies are also investors. What the rule says is what has been done to disclose their deals ie purchase or sales. Hence we have what is called closed period during such period it becomes wrong for them to trade that is what is insider trading. Let's be well guided

At the bold, I must commed his son, Seleem Adegunwa who came into the company after his MBA at Bristol for revolutionising the beverage sector of the company. Fearless drink has become the energy drink market leaders giving J.I EJISON's Blue Bullet energy drink a run for their money. Most distributors of blue bullet are now applying for rite food distributorship as a result of huge demand for fearless energy drink.

Although their cola products aren't controlling market shares when compared with Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola, probably they should take a clue from FIRSTBEV Nigeria, who in less than 2 years of establishment in Nigeria, their products, RC Cola is giving NBC and 7up Bottling Company stiff competition due to the price of RC cola being cheaper when compared with others.

I must commed chief Adegunwa, just like Vaswani brothers, have ensured that their children after studies abroad, come back to their company to pilot affairs and move it forward.

Not everyone can read and interpret financial statements. There are many in the market who rely on financial experts to give summary of the numbers from those companies before making their financial decisions.

Then i will advise you steer clear of long term investment.

I must commend him for investing in his children's education and making them to come and work in the family business considering the fact that Adebola was not educated up to the secondary school level. That was the mistake richmen of old like Adeola Odutola made. After educating their children abroad, they will want their children to work in the civil service or foreign companies like UACN, Leventis, CFAO, Cadbury or the banks. In about 10 years after the death of the founders of such family businesses, the businesses will also collapse. They have different range of drinks, their bitter lemon is my preferred product

If you are in Lagos or the South Western part of Nigeria, Bigi drinks are the preferred drinks of the people, ask the hawkers who sell drinks in traffic.

I must also commend the humility of his children, they are not spoilt brat. I have known Tairat who represents Ess-ay holdings interest on Sterling bank since 2006 when she was working at FBN Capital and I happened to be a client. Very humble and deligent, it was two years ago when I bought Sterling bank shares and saw her picture as one of the directors of Sterling Bank representing Ess-ay holdings that I got to know that she is Adebolas daughter

Everyone is taking advantage of Covid to market their wares. The 2 people i know who invested in these agricultural schemes lost all their funds. Whoever remembered those days of Nospetco,Sefteg and the likes, the gullible ones will fall though.

Watch it first so you can enter at bargain......once the dumping stops....
Zenith is the only stock most affected by the dumping, another opportunity presenting itself for bargain hunters.....

NB: When I said opportunity is presenting itself, not necessarily saying today (or not) we keep watching to know when it's about to reverse .....

This is a million question ooo.
It depends on you. Since it Jijo you may sell it. 17% is not bad for JIJO
......but you may have to enter back higher, so, maybe you watch as it's going first since you entered at bottom price.
The decision is now yours. grin
