If you study well, hard and carefully. Your bachelor's degree will be the best thing to ever happen to you.

Don't allow those who failed in school to deceive you with "School na scam" talks. It isn't. It is very important, if not, thousands of people won't be applying every year to study.

Just be focused and work very hard.
You of all people should know that in this generation, a lot of conventional / traditional things have been regularly rubbished by sore losers.
You hear things like -
Marriage is not an achievement or Marriage is overrated or marriage is a scam by people who have failed in that section of life.
So is School/Education/Certificate is overrated or scam.
Religion is also not left out.
Religion is scam
The traditional believes and norms are regularly been targeted and ridiculed.
Marriage, religion and Education/school/certificate

Your dream is bigger because you didn't study your dream course. You can't tell me you applied for Soil science. Never!!

You accepted it out of desperation and ended up studying what you don't like or have passion for, that's why you aren't concerned or interested on what it could offer you.

As a contract or core staff?
Entry level or experienced?

Oga, don’t deceive people with my big bro story. Organizations won’t recruit a 31years old man for entry level. Big bro indeed. grin
Likely got in as an experienced hire.

I don't want to cast myself here. But make your findings about how much a music video director earns in a month (You don't need a certificate to become one). You will know that your Professor of Medicine is still learning. School is a scam in Nigeria, except for some developed countries that give education a priority.
The way you guys used to talk, do you think everyone is dumbass like you ?

How many movie directors do you know ?

Apart from those shooting for superstars, I don't know of any upcoming artiste that will pay you millions for video shooting! Also, their pay is mostly per shooting not salary

My friend,a successful medical doctor is the one that ends up having his own hospital or clinic, and that is business
NextD18:
By Medicine, you mean Med/Surg? If Yes.

Now, imagine you studied this your dream course with happiness and focus in school and graduate with a good result just like you did in Soil Science, do you think you would have made such statement "if ur certificate still feeds u 10yrs after school, then u are a failure"?.

No! You won't. Because we both know what a good result in Med/Surg can do anywhere in the world. And please, stop saying you prefer business than being a qualified and professional medical doctor. cheesy

We know it's a lie.

A music video director is in the field of creativity - he's an artist and it is his artistry that sells.

However, it would take a bit more than talent to push him into certain environments where there are equally skilled artists who attended a renowned institution to hone their skills.

It is with much difficulty that he would be invited to undertake certain projects because of the perceived limitation of his knowledge.

Not so.

Every medical doctor is a businessman if he applies himself as such.

You only described one act of business forgetting that one could be consulting out of many surgeries and be making sums people only dream of.

The structure is for those who dream of it.

I graduated years ago and I'm not regretting going to school. You said you HAD passion for Med/Surg, but AT THIS MOMENT, you have passion for money. Bruv, your current passion is a result of your inability to follow your initial passion. Fact!

See as you bend mouth dey talk 5milla, 10milla and 100milla a month. How many Nigerian business men do make such a month as gain?

Stop deceiving yourself with business fantasies, being a successful business man is not easy as you think. Stay woke and stop making unnecessary statements about certificates, when you've not gotten one.
Dem go just dey talk business, business, business as if na so e dey easy.
Enter inside first now before you go know whether you go fit they even make the money like that.

I initially wanted to study computer engineering..

So when I graduate now, my certificate will not have use?

Education and certificate are two different things. Education opens one's eyes to opportunities. Certificate on other hand is useful in Nigeria majorly for those with long legs. University education prepares you to face the real life, use your brain, the knowledge you gain in addition with other skills you to solve problem. With this, you acheive your potentials.

Can u explain to me more abt the corporate practice?

it is an area of legal practice. It involves company formation, corporate governance, company secretarial services, corporate administration and compliance. Most lawyers under this category also get accredited with CAC as accredited agents, and start filings at CAC for their clients.

My degree is very useful to me. The course I studied in college is a course I already had in mind since my junior secondary school and also seen people who studied that course and how their progression has been in the manufacturing industry. Let's assume I studied Accounting in school, I will strive hard to become a chartered accountant. My advice is go for disciplines that will make you multi sectoral. Why should I go and study petroleum engineering all in the name of working in the oil and sectora and limit myself to one industry.
let the rains wash away my tears of not studying medicine. i tried all i could but didnt get. its one regret of a life time. i hope someday i wl b bouyant to pursue that course even at old age. i just love that course. those who are medical doctors are really priviledged

The same thing you said here applies to every field irrespective of weather you are educated or not. I am only correcting your wrong impression. You see, education is a major scam in Nigeria, except you have a good connection, or you have a very important skill other than what you learn in school then you are in for big mess. The only thing that can help you is "luck".

Stop quoting me since your brain is located in your anus. As a music video director, the opportunity you have is beyond shooting music video alone, it cuts across shooting commercials for big brands even to the point of filmmaking.

The only thing that can limit you from attracting big artistes is your level of skills.

If I spend the same number of years your professor of medicine spends to acquire that degree, if I dedicate same number of years learning the art of music video, I will be f*cking richer than him.

Let me educate your dead brain, as a music video director, you will become skilled in video editing, ColorGrading and other post production works. Each of this job provides you with great opportunities.

In this age and time, what takes you far is your skills not your certificate.

This is why school is not just a scam, it is a major SCAM in Nigeria because it tricks you into believing that once you are a graduate the best job on earth is waiting for you. It will never tell you there are thousands of graduates still walking around under the scorching sun with their broken shoes looking for a job. School will never reveal to you that thousands of graduates are working their asses up just to collect 30k as salaries.

It leaves them to face the reality when they are out of school.
