Hows the city and university. Are there part time jobs? Are things cheap? Will just like a view of what you think of the place. Thanks.

Brookes is a good university generally, Oxford is a small historic town, it's very multicultural (which I love about it). Yes, there are lots of part-time job opportunities which is one good thing about it. No, it's not cheap, it's expensive, as expensive as London. That reminds me, its close to London, 90 minutes by coach and definitely faster if you go by rail.

Apart from the cost of living, its a really nice place to live.

Greetings house.

Please is there any prospective student of Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) or anyone conversant with the school.

What's the school like in terms of teaching, the location and life in general?

I recently got an offer in Nursing from the school. I'll appreciate your inputs and advice.

Thanks

Never heard of the said uni before, did a quick google search and the first thing I realise is the location, Kent.

Kent is one of the most expensive cities to live in UK.

Hello House,

I got a conditional offer from Teesside University. I also got a mail from them asking me to apply for VC scholarship which is £5000.
Is the general scholarship for Nigerians different from this and automatically awarded to all applicants. I don't understand. I will appreciate any idea.

Thanks

it a general scholarship for all international applicants. For one to get the scholarship one must write up a literary piece of work. Winner would be picked randomly and awarded the scholarship.

Hello Everybody. Please to those on ground....

+ Do Teachers have opportunities too? I've noticed rush for IT, Medicine, Engr, etc...

+ What course would you advise a female teacher with about 10 years experience to look into, should she want to change career?

She has BEd Accounting.

There is someone on this forum.
Her name is STENON.
If I were you, I would search her moniker, follow her, and read her previous posts.
She possibly can tell you ALL you need to know.

Teaching is great. Only ‘problem’ I think you make have is that you are not in any STEM subject.

Yes Teachers have opportunities that's if you can teach maths and those science subjects. Not my field but STENON will be able to put you through in that field. She's the best person.

Is there any one presently studying in the uk with their children with them? How are you coping? Please help allay my fears.

Thanks.

not advisable except you have older siblings and housemaid here.

Btw... why do you both want to study full time at a time ?
I will advice the wife to study full time so as to care for the toddler while the husband apply as tier 4 dependant to be able to work full time and if possible night shift for him to be able to take care of the toddler while the wife is away to school or work during the day angry

Hi.

1. Yes, Such as been paid your full salary while on lockdown, bank holidays, free weekends and comfortable lifestyle.
Many opportunities for STEM teachers via tier 2 work visa, but STEM teachers from Nigeria is currently not on the list , though Zimbabwe, south africa, New Zealand etc are eligible.

2. No need to change career, just have enough Professional licence and CPD to show for the 10 years.

3. BEd Accounting is not bad at all, though accounting is not on shortage occupation list but applying as a tier 4 dependant will give automatic full time work permit for her to get the teaching job easily.

**With UK teaching licence, You can migrate to any country of your choice for teaching cheesy**

Thanks so much Madam!

On Professional Licence, the Lady works with one of the Federal Unity Schools, do you mean TRCN? I will get more info on that later Ma.

Sadly, she's the one applying to study, while husband will be dependant. On point 3, I don't know how they can work that out...hnmmm

I guess she could get the UK teaching licence before completion of studies.

You've opened up areas to work on Ma. Gracias!

Hi everyone.
If a judge approves an appeal case, does that mean the UK home office would issue one Visa??.
And if so, how long does it take to get the Visa??

Thanks.

Please o I never reach "Ma". cheesy

1. Federal unity school is a good one to add to her work experience. Yes, TRCN

2. If possible let the husband be the main applicant for studies while the wife apply as dependant, or Please let wife apply for any management course for her MSc as that is a fast route to becoming Principal or Head Teacher .

3. Yes, she can get the UK teaching license . But please remember it is quite difficult to become a registered Teacher in England, but easier at other part of UK.
So the best is to get registered either in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, before applying for registration with Teaching council in England.
