a) More Americans travel than do Nigerians.(93million in 2018, 83 million in 2019) Also, the US is a tourist hotspot as well. A lot of people travel to the US. Throw in the fact that spread might have been happening since November ...and you see the problem

Nigerians don't travel as much as the average American.

b) The worst affected hotspots are places like New York , where one airline handled 10million passengers alone. Murtala Muhd airport Lagos, handled just 4-5million passengers last year (all airlines)

c) Lockdowns, like Nigeria have been on a state by state basis

d) Also, high rates of testing and obesity worsen matters.

All those countries too have a lot of tourists...Italy, the UK, France, China and Spain earn billions from tourism...plus Schengen visa makes it easier for European and foriegn travellers to move around most European countries without issues. (in fact tourists heading from Wuhan..the now infamous Wuhan meat market used to have heavy duty tourist traffic... might have helped spread the virus around the world)
